  • "This was our second stay and just like the first time last year it was wonderful being at the cottage."

It's clean, equipped with everything you could need, the hot tub is amazing with incredible views, and it's a warm and very comfortable place to spend a week. The welcome basket plus the card from the owners was a really lovely extra touch and very appreciated. This is a great value property and especially great for dogs, I couldn't recommend this place enough. We will no doubt be booking again for next year! :)

Hi, thank you both for your lovely comments and review, we were elated when we realised that you were a returning guests. (hence the additional bottle of fizz) added to the welcome basket that we leave for our guests . And we hope your dogs enjoyed the treats left for them too - can't leave the pets out . It is good that you had the opportunity to use the hot tub as the weather has been very unpredictable the last few weeks. We look forward to welcoming you again soon regards Keith & Tracy Property Owner

Thank you for your lovely feedback, we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at the house. The views are exceptional and even more so if the weather is kind. We will pass on your comments to the housekeepers straight away, they are an excellent team and it is lovely to hear that being acknowledged by guests. • "The setting of where this cottage is situated, breathtaking."

Stunning views in virtually every direction. The cottage itself is beautiful, it had everything. The contact that I had with Dave when I queried something was very quick, very direct and very helpful. Without a doubt the best hot tub views I have ever had. The only negative I would have to say is that there was a few cobwebs about the place, in the main bedroom we were staying in they were all over the wall however this didn't bother us, just thought I'd mention it. We are already talking about returning with more family members to experience this place as a group! Thank you for a beautiful stay!

We love to hear feedback like this, and yes have to agree with you the views from all directions are superb. It is pleasing to know that our maintenance / cleaning team were able to respond to you promptly and resolve your query. I did mention to the team about your comment re cobwebs, and they took immediate action to resolve this, we do hope to welcome you back again soon regards Keith & Tracy Property Owner

We all like being away from the Madding crowds. If there were any down side it would be Just one of the beds was a bit squeaky, but other than that there was nothing to moan about. Would Love to go back .

Thank you for your feedback, we are so glad that your group had a lovely time away from it all and would love to welcome you back again. We take on board the squeaky bed, it was already in our plans to change out the two double beds at the end of this season. regards Keith & Tracy Property Owner

  • "Such a beautiful property and better than we had expected."

The house was so clean and smelt amazing as we walked in. So many little extras and very well thought out touches. Very impressed by the sanitary products available if needed. We would say the bath towels were far too small and we ended up having to use the large sheets we had brought for the hot tub. There was also a lack of glasses, plenty of wine glasses but not enough for a long drink really, nothing major just a small point. We would also recommend that people take bug spray for when in the hot tub on summer nights. We went and bought some citronella candles to help as we did get quite a few bites. We had a fabulous week thank you.

Thank you so much for your the wonderful feedback, it is lovely to know the little extras we leave are appreciated. It was also good to know that your first impressions on arrival, that the house was so so clean and smelt amazing, we have very recently changed our change over and maintenance team as we were not happy that the previous team were up to standard we required. I will pass on your comments to the new team, I am sure they will be pleased to hear. We have taken on board your comments re the bath towels and tall glasses and will address this. We welcome feedback and suggestions, that way we can ensure a home from home experience for our guests. We hope to see you again in the future, regards Tracy & Keith Property Owner

Lovely setting. Great internet and tv. Some issues. One of the double beds had not had the bedding changed. Broken window opener Another bed had the springs sticking in my daughter. Settees in lounge tatty and worn out hence uncomfortable Dog barked constantly from 2:00 every night Oven dirty and some of the oven trays etc not fit for use and want throwing out

Good morning and thanks for the feedback, in regards to the bed not being changed and the oven dirty, we as of this week changed cleaning companies for this exact reason as they we're not meeting the exacting standards we require. did you contact the emergency number and request the bedding be changed out or the over to be cleaned? as this service is available if you have any issues. Can you advise which bed has springs sticking out please? and also which window you refer to as I'm at the property now undertaking maintenance and cant find any window opener broken, all windows open and close as they should? unfortunately because it's a working farm with sheep dogs penned, barking can sometimes be inevitable. regards Keith and Tracy. • "We enjoyed our stay in the cottage."

Beautiful views. I would like to mention a couple of things. Firstly there are no signs on the gates to the property, which would help as it wasn't easy to find. Also the dishwasher hadn't been cleaned inside and there were the remains of food in there. We loved the cottage, garden (which was fenced and so safe for my grandson and our dogs) and the location. We visited a lot of places including a small family run garden called Caerau Gardens, Cafe and adventure playground which is in Sarnau, Nr. Bala. Well worth a visit. We would definitely want to return to this cottage again. Thank you

Firstly may I apologise for the condition you found the dishwasher in, I have taken this up with the cleaning team and awaiting their response. In addition we will also ask the farmer if we can put up some signage at the track entrance. We are pleased that you enjoyed the house and garden and found it perfect for your grandson and dogs. I've not visited Caerau gardens myself but will make sure I do over the summer. We look forward to your return visit in the future. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was beautiful and we felt so relaxed there,it was fascinating to see how much work the owners had put into it from a derelict building."

I enjoyed the beautiful view from the kitchen whilst having my morning coffee, and it is central to other places to visit. We were also left a welcome gift. The hot tub was great except I have booked places where they are cleaned and treated every day and it was getting grubby. Also the farm dogs barked in early hours which woke us. Other than that it was a superb break highly recommended and would definitely book again.

Hi, thank you for the lovely comments, and I agree with you, the view is amazing and sat with a coffee watching the sun rise is very relaxing. I can only apologise you were disturbed by the farm dogs, unfortunately this is beyond our control. We take on board your comments re the hot tub, and again can only apologise. We do have a maintenance and cleaning team who should have come over mid stay to clean / maintain the tub for you. I hope this won't deter you from booking again in the future. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful location and tranquil, Not many walking paths around the location but a lot within a short drive, and probably the reason the location remained quiet throughout the whole stay which was lovely Had read previous reviews about the local farm dogs barking, they rarely barked throughout our whole stay (just when we went past), and even then, it wasn't disruptive at all!"

So definitely don't let this put you off prior to booking! Lots of extra little bits such as games, air beds, etc, we didn't make use but nice to have the option The fencing around the property was mostly perfect but wouldn't leave the dogs outside unattended just incase as some parts weren't very high, more suited to smaller dogs, but that didn't effect the stay, and did make the views nicer. All in all, couldn't have asked for a better property!

Thank you for your lovely review, it is always pleasing to know that the dogs (although can be a little noisy on occasion) aren't always a major problem. If you would like to let me know where you think the fencing could be improved to accommodate larger dogs we are more than happy to see what we can do to support this . We hope you would come and stay again in the future. Property Owner

  • "What a wonderful stay!"

From the moment we opened the door to a lovely welcome pack and a warm & clean cottage with amazing views. Somuch space...from the Whiskey snug to a big open lounge and a lovely kitchen diner. We spent the days in Snowdonia outdoor swimming and the evenings cooking, eating, enjoying the evening views and playing games - TV with Netflix etc in lounge but we never switched it on! The bedrooms are all spacious and two big shared bathrooms and an extra downstairs shower off the utility room which has an amazing floor (I won't spoil the surprise!) All beautifully decorated and even toiletries supplied in case you forget to bring. Our week was so full that we only managed to use the hot tub once - great fun, particularly the lighting! The cottage is in a great location for travelling around Snowdonia - if you take the road left out of the cottage it takes you to the Blaenau Ffestiniog, Beddgelert (50 mins) or the coast. Some stunning drives. If you turn left out of the cottage you can drive to Bala Lake or round to Betws-y-Coed and Capel Curig & Snowdon. For lake swimming the cottage was in a great location - we managed Llynau Mymbyr, Llyn Geririonydd, Llyn Gwynant, Llyn Dinas, Llyn Mwyngil and Llyn Padarn suring our week - The utility room at the house was great for washing & drying our swimming gear everyday. Thanks for a wonderful stay. Just a tiny recommendation - the Sat Nav address covers a few properties and initially took us to the first house after the bend. Might be good to mention the house is third turn on the right if coming from Bala opposite the public parking site on the road about 800m after the bend.

Thank you for your amazing review, we are so glad you had an enjoyable stay, it sounds like you had a great week. We are so glad you found the house equipped for everything you needed and nice of you to point out the complimentary toiletries provided. We have taken on board regards the location and the Sat Nav taking you to the first house, we have asked Sykes to add a clearer guide to the key features. We would love to welcome you back again Property Owner

  • "Lovely cosy house to stay."

We staying in February and it was very warm in the house. The hot tub was a real treat with fantastic views from it. The house had 2 separate staircases to 2 of the bedrooms on each side of the house. That suited us well but might not with families with children. The floors downstairs were all stone and lots of internal steps (as advertised in the description) but just to be aware that might not suit a family with a toddler, as hard floors and lots of steps. Also beams and oddly positioned ceiling lights meant the taller people in our party were constantly hitting their heads! But would recommend as a lovely place to stay for a walking holiday.

Thank you for your feedback, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. The views are indeed amazing, even in February. We hope to welcome you again some time regards Keith & Tracy Property Owner

  • "The property is beautiful and very well renovated."

Brilliantly equipped, with pretty much everything you could think of, plus lots of lovely little extras, which is a lovely touch by the owners. Cleaned to a good standard upon arrival. There were just a couple if things which we found would have personally benefited us. A wardrobe in all 4 bedrooms not just 2 of them A mirror in all 4 bedrooms not just 1 of them. A long mirror somewhere in the house. Plus a small bin in each bedroom would have made things easier for us too. Despite the chandeliers being beautiful, they were quite literally a pain, because the ceilings are already quite low (which of course we expect in a period property), but 2 of our party kept banging their heads on the chandeliers which hang very low from the already low ceilings. For the most part it was peaceful, but there are 2 dogs in cages near to the house who barked on and off throughout the day which was fine, but they barked for longer periods of time and, what seemed to be, louder throughout the night, disturbing everyone's sleep. It would have been good to have known before booking that to go anywhere, even for a walk from the property, you need to jump in the car first, as there is no footpaths or walking routes from the property. Everything needs to be driven to first, then go on beautiful walks in this stunning part of the world. The owners were very helpful when helping us to resolve a problem with the hottub, the gentleman had a lovely relaxed and patient manner on the phone whilst he talked us through what to do to fix the issue. The maintenance man who the owners sent round to look at the hottub the next day, was lovely! He was polite and nothing seemed to be a hassle. The views are fantastic, even outstanding, from this property. The closed off garden is a super touch, especially because we knew our little whoof had a safe place to run and play. The beds are supper comfortable and the equipment provided is of a high standard and the views are out of this world, so for these reasons we would return. Thank you for a much needed break from the rat race.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments, we are so pleased that you and your party thoroughly enjoyed your stay at Hen Dy Craig and was able to relax knowing your dog was safe to run about outside. We think those little extra touches do go a long way to make our guests feel welcome. The dogs - unfortunately this is not something we can change, the dogs are working dogs and belong to the farmer. We have take on board your comments about a full length mirror and will be putting one in very soon, and will also put in better storage for clothes in the smaller room above the kitchen. It was nice that you acknowledged our efforts to resolve the issue when then hot tub went off, and its good to hear to that the maintenance guy who came the next day was also lovely. We look forward to welcoming you again to Hen Dy Craig. regards Keith & Tracy Property Owner

Bedrooms cosy, the snug was a great place to secure the dog overnight for sleeping. Log burner in large living room was fabulous! Loved everything about the house, in one word PERFECT!

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the cottage was beautiful and suited our needs - lovely and cosy with comfy beds and amazing views."

Beautifully decorated and very clean! Loads to do in the area and we didn’t struggle to fill our days! No complaints but our only feedback would be that we would have liked more storage in the bedrooms - our son had very little in his room so used a tv cabinet and one room had a wardrobe we couldn’t open so my sister in law had to live out of a suitcase for the week. Not a huge problem and didn’t spoil our stay. Additionally we weren’t aware there would be an electric car charger available (unless we missed it somewhere) - we came in our petrol car as we were concerned we’d struggle to charge the electric car!

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback, we have taken on board your comments about bedroom storage. We were not aware of the wardrobe door but have now resolved this and we are in the process of purchasing better storage for the bedroom that need it. With regards the EV point has only just been installed and not yet completed, this is why it is not noted on the Sykes description just yet. We are pleased it didn't spoil your stay and hope to welcome you back again in the future. Regards Keith & Tracy Property Owner

The cottage was very clean, well maintained and beautiful inside and outside. The hot tub made it a great family holiday for all which included grandparents and children as well as a dog. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. The only downside, which is not a fault of the owners is the working dogs who are housed next door and woke everyone up 3 days out of 7 at around 5am with their barking. However that didn't spoil what was a great family holiday in a fantastic cottage and in fact allowed us to see 2 spectacular sunrises which we would have otherwise missed.

Thank you for your lovely comments about the house , we are so happy that you got to enjoy the hot tub. The sunrises can be spectacular this time of the year. The view was stunning, the beds were comfy and the facilties were home from home. My only negative would be the close by sheep dog kennel to the side of the cottage . The dogs barked regular through the night and this was quite loud even with the windows shut ! Which disturbed us all. Im glad we didnt need to open them as the weather was quite cool but this could be an issue for some families or light sleepers.

Thank you so much for the feedback and glad you enjoyed your stay at the cottage, we acknowledge your comment about the dogs barking, unfortunately this is out of our control as the dogs are working dogs owned by the farmer/landowner.
