  • "We had such a good weekend celebrating with the family for my husbands 50th birthday, such a great property just what we wanted, big enough for us all, the beds and pillows were so comfy."

There is everything you need, the kitchen is lovely and plenty of cutlery/ plates ect….nice to be able to all sit round the table. The garden area looks lovely although not able to use it in the weather, would be lovely in summer. The pool table is a great idea, Great communication with the host even accommodated an early check in which was very much appreciated. Pub up the road in walking distance was a bonus and very nice ( The Mayquay) Overall an excellent weekend stay and we would definitely stay again.

Thanks Stephanie for you lovely review, we do hope you look to come again soon, you left the property lovely and clean which is very much appreciated. Property Owner

The house was great. Plenty big enough for 7 of us. Big bedrooms with en suites and a nice bathroom. Huge kitchen with everything you could need. Area was spot on. Just off the beaten path. And plenty going on in Rhyl to entertain the kids. Close enough to many attractions a little further afield. Shops, supermarkets, the lot really. Host was really nice and helped us whenever needed. We all really enjoyed it. Only improvement I would make would be to link the 3 garden sections somehow. Thanks for our stay !!

Spacious property inside and out, everyone commented on how comfy the beds were. Gorgeous kitchen and seating area was great for us playing games and enjoying a meal together. Pool table was a great hit with the boys. Garden was enjoyed by our 2 dogs and us on the sunny afternoon we got. Great location for enjoying north wales or just wandering down to the beach. We had a bleeping smoke detector and Steve was there an hour later sorting it out and he contacted us on the Saturday to let us know we could get in earlier on the Monday so was a great host. We had a brilliant holiday and Beach Cottage was a big part of that. We would stay again.

The pictures do not do the property justice, it is a lovely property and catered well for both young and old. An earlier arrival would be better at the cost of £600 a night, more toilet roll and logs for the fire would have been appreciated.

Thank you for your kind review Phyllis and that you appreciated the property and what it had to offer you and your family during your stay, I did try to ring you to come in earlier but couldn't get an answer which was unfortunate. I agree more tiolet rolls should be provided and will ensure this is done moving forward. A large basket of complimentary logs are provided as mentioned in the property details prior to booking and guests have full access to the central heating and hot water day and night. Please also note that we didn't actually recieve £600 a night after commission is taken off, I wish we did .. Property Owner

  • "The property needs a deep clean and has a constant odour."

The towels were all stained. My husband had to buy more as we didn’t take any with us. The toilet at rear was not flushing properly. The bathrooms need extractor fans. The beds were uncomfortable except for the small single bed which I tried one night. The outdoor space was very bitty and scattered, the kids play area was too separated. Didn’t feel comfortable for the kids to be there by them selfs. On the plus side the fire place and pool table were nice and the conservatory was our favourite place. Unfortunately I won’t be returning.

Unfortunately I have to totally disagree with your negative review, we have been operating for a number of years and as you can clearly see the majority of feedback on here is very positive which i feel shows the overall views of guests experience staying at our property. We pride ourselves on our feedback and I can assure you we certainly don't want our guests to not enjoy their stay with us. We are at the property ourselves during cleaning to ensure it is as good as it can be prior to guest arrival. Neither sykes or ourselves were informed of any problems during your stay which is a bit strange to say the least considering the list of issues you have pointed out. You found six out of the seven beds uncomfortable which i can't really understand as they all have quality matress toppers on them for extra comfort, I realise we all have different preferences when it comes to matresses but this is impossible for us to judge, when guests go away they tend to except this and I don't recall anyone ever complaining about even one of our mattresses if I'm honest let alone six of them. The large open secure garden areas for the children have been very possitive over the years for our guests as you can see by the reviews. Both en suit bathrooms have a window for ventilation, we did not put extractor fans in as they run for ages after you turn the lights off which would keep you awake at night, again this has never been an issue with any of our other guests before now. It is unfortunate you did not enjoy your stay with us and have gone out of your way to find things to complain about which are totally untrue. Property Owner

  • "Many thanks for a really fabulous place, it was exactly right for all 12 of us."

We all had very spacious bedrooms - really great for the teenagers to have good sized beds, and we fitted two travel cots in, with enough space. The bedroom at the other end of the house gave us a bit of space from the kids and three shower/bathrooms meant no queuing. The little ones just loved the playhouses in the garden and spent many hours running in and out, and the big kids loved the pool table, we had a very complicated knockout game... This suited us, nothing too posh to have us worrying about the kids being kids, but everything we needed. The beach is only a few minutes away and we walked to Rhyl along the front across the beautiful butterfly bridge. Good parking too. And last but not least - very grateful to Steve for sorting a precious left item and posting it quickly. But nothing is more precious than time together as a family, thank you!

The only downside was on arrival there was an awful smell when entering the property and in the kitchen area. The owner of the property had rang me a few hours before my arrival to inform me that the previous visits had poured fat down the sink which had caused the smell. We initially didn’t sit in the kitchen dining area because it was so strong however after opening the doors to let some air in we were able to sit and eat dinner at the table without feeling nauseous. Bad smells and heavily pregnant doesn’t mix well! It was a shame as this was the only downside to the property. We had loads of space for all the kids the run around and play and ample room for all 12 of us. Location is great and I would recommend Prestatyn beach a visit as it’s very large and sandy! I would definitely stay again at this property (minus the drainage smell)

Hi zara, It was unfortunate that the previous guests had unknowingly damaged the pipe work behind the sink causing sink water to travel behind the unit. We only knew about this on our arrival to clean clean. This is why we contacted you as there was little time to remove the slight smell which did eventually go on its own. Property Owner

Having the whole family cooking in the large, well appointed kitchen and eating family meals together was the best part for me and something that we have all expressed a wish to repeat. About the location

CONWY

Llandudno 5 miles; Betws-y-Coed 16 miles.

Conwy, a World Heritage Site, is without doubt world famous for its historical and architectural heritage, yet at the heart of the town lies a hub of bustling activity. Alongside its ancient festivals and fairs, musical recitals, galleries and historical attractions, there is an array of specialist shops, restaurants and hotels. Built for King Edward I between 1283 and 1287, Master James of St George's design, Conwy Castle remains one of the most outstanding achievements of medieval military architecture. The distinctive, elongated shape, with its two barbicans, eight massive towers and a great bow-shaped hall was perhaps determined by the narrow rocky outcrop on which the castle stands. The town is proud of its historic traditions and celebrates its past by retaining many of these in its annual festivals, events and fairs, including the Honey fair, Seed fair and Gwledd Conwy Feast in October, along with other musical events throughout the year. Conwy is the perfect base for exploring the dramatic Snowdonia National Park, walking unspoilt sandy beaches, or taking in the wonderful scenery on your doorstep. Also within reach are the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, which has the longest zip wire in Europe.
