  • "Lovely cottage in great location."

The indoor space is great - 2 boys shared the twin room upstairs and had a great ‘den’ in the walk in wardrobe. Outdoor space was good for children’s tennis. Views from most rooms over the hills towards the Rivals, llanbedrog and Cardigan bay.

This is our second stay and on both occasions the property has been very well presented and maintained when we arrived, we immediately felt at home. Great walks from the door and that shiny bright thing in the sky came out! The views are are amazing. Gorgeous beaches to Abersoch and in Llanbedrog. Ship Inn and Glyn Y Weddw Arms well worth a drink and something to eat. Thanks to the lovely owners for our "tea" afternoon! The owners are really lovely and very welcoming. I would highly recommend this property for a holiday in Wales. We will be returning again !!!! Kay, Steve & Ted. (Holmfirth, Yorkshire)

  • "Enjoyed a wonderful week in an excellent location."

With two small children, still have plenty to do and explore to justify a return visit. Accommodation again excellent but one thing if we may, with an 8 and a 10 year old, did much self catering, a dishwasher to replace some of the more than ample storage space in kitchen would have been welcome. the area does seem to enjoy a niche climate meaning essentially we've had 6 days with 4 on the beach translating as 2 happy children although 3 exhausted adults! Thank you for making us so welcome. The Herrimans/Dunfords

  • "Our family of 5 and our spaniel, had a lovely stay at Awel Y Grug."

The house is very spacious and perfectly set up for a holiday away - the utility was a great space to keep boots and coats out the way. The kitchen was well equipped and the lounge a comfy space to relax after a day of adventure. We received a warm welcome, along with Welsh cakes :) The photos don't do it justice - it's very spacious and comfortable. We were fortunate with some good weather days. There are some beautiful walks on your doorstep and we enjoyed our daily walk up to the headland with the dog, followed by a coffee on the terrace. Best wishes, Helen, Matt, kids & Otis

  • "Such a lovely spacious property."

All mod cons provided and scrupulously clean and well furnished. The views were wonderful and the location was great for exploring the area. Abersoch was only a short car ride away which is a great place to eat out and you can even catch a bus there at the end of the road, taking only 20 minutes. The beds were very comfortable and had beautiful linen. It felt like the owner had gone to a lot of trouble to make guests very comfortable. We would certainly love to stay here again. The property was described as having an enclosed garden but the gates didn’t seem to be able to close and there were sheep at the back. This wasn’t a problem for us as our dog is older and not so boisterous. Just thought this might be an issue for a young dog or young children. Face Family, West Midlands

This is a fabulous property which is larger than the photos show, the views are amazing, the property is well maintained, very clean and the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking meals. The owners make you feel so welcome and our dog had playtime with Wilf. I would highly recommend this property for a holiday in Wales. Loved stopping at the house which is a perfect location for walks from the door. Weather was also gorgeous. Ted the pooch also loved his stay and says he would like to come back. Recommend a trip to Ty Coch & Aberdaron, Pwllheli and Abersoch also nice. Watch out for the dustbin-lid sized jellyfish. We will be returning!!! Steve, Kay & Ted, Holmfirth, Yorkshire

  • "We had an amazing time at this lovely property."

The house has been a perfect base for us. It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. It was surprisingly spacious and the views from the balcony were beautiful. We slept so well in the comfy beds. The property was so handy for the many lovely beaches nearby. It was lovely to be so close to the beach, but so close also to Abersoch, Morfa Nefyn too. The owners' family live across the road and were really helpful and friendly. We would definitely recommend this property highly. We were a three generation family and our little granddaughter wanted to live here forever. I'm sure we will be back. Thank you

  • "Lovely location but the property is in desperate need of modernising."

Dated kitchen with lack of core cooking equipment.40 plus year old bathroom, the most uncomfortable beds in existence. We left a day early due to lack of sleep.

We believe the description and photos of the property are clearly depicted on all websites known to us, and should be as one would expect on arrival. Therefore we are shocked and a little disappointed by the negative feedback, particularly on the bathroom and kitchen. We would like to assure all that the property has recently undergone modernisation to meet standard expected by any holiday letting agency. The property has double glazed doors and windows throughout; a modern heating system; new floor-coverings (except for the kitchen; which is tiled), and has been re-decorated from top to bottom. We believe the kitchen has all the core cooking equipment a person / family would expect in a holiday let. It has a built-in cooker; glass hob; extractor; microwave; pots and pans; crockery and cutlery etc. The only equipment not included is a dishwasher. We’d welcome any suggestions for further equipment / utensils required and we’d make every effort to supply these during a visit if requested. The bed-frames and mattresses are all brand new and of very good quality, and have only been in use for the last couple of months. We appreciate beds/mattress comfort can be a very personal preference, and will take on board the comments. To date, we’ve had no other negative feedbacks in relation to the beds and / or mattresses, nor either as to the standard of facilities provided or the property in general. Had we been approached or informed of a client’s dissatisfaction, we would have made attempts to rectify the matter in order to ensure a more comfortable and enjoyable stay. Our aim is to try and ensure that all who stay at Awel y Grug have a most enjoyable and memorable holiday. Yours sincerely Meirion and Nerys Property Owner
