The property has mountain views, and is close to Caernarfon. The Vestry is an unusual property, ideally for fit guests as stairs are steep and in constant use as it has no toilet on the living, kitchen area floor. The single room and bed are very small, more suitable for child/teenager.

Well equipped with everything you need for a conforrable stay. Amazing views and the location makes it a perfect base to explore the local area. Only down side for us was the mattresses, especially the one in the main bedroom, it was springey and uncomfortable. If the mattresses matched the high quality finish of the rest of the house, it would be a 10 out out 10 accommodation for us.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Yr Hen Festri."

Upon arrival, we found the house to be very clean and comfortable. The fire had been set, with spare wood. There was also a couple of cosy blankets. The beds were comfortable. From reading the description, we thought one bedroom was on the first floor, but they were all on the ground floor. Both the showers were good. As others have said, the wifi is poor, but we knew about that and it was nice to unplug. Unfortunately the local pub is closed, but there are lovely walks just out of the front door. And brilliant beaches just a short drive away. More crockery and cutlery would be good, as would some cleaning products.

Our only reservation was the wifi mentioned in the facilities, it was so slow as to be unusable, my daughter had taken her laptop to do some work and was unable to do anything. Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

After 48 hours, really missed a window to look out of. The furnishings were good quality, towels white and soft, linen beautiful, beds comfy, although double not king. Kitchen area well equipped, bathroom and en suite fabulous. Blackout curtains would have been a bonus. Parking for 2 large saloon cars was difficult but not impossible, just challenging! Location for exploring north wales was brilliant. And for climbing snowdon, so convenient, just 15 minutes drive from the llanberis path. Thank you to Andy for popping by with a hairdryer, it was very kind of you.

In the kitchen the cutlery and crockery was of poor quality and missmatched. the TV could not be viewed for the reflections from windows with no curtairs. Internet 0.22mbs!! We went home early!

It has everything you need.. except internet, it's so low that you can't watch netflix or do anything on the internet, we used our mobile data. Which if you need to do any work is very difficult and expensive buying kids mobile data. Also curtains are not a thing, so your bedrooms are so light I was awake very early every morning. Only those two things were inconvenient but not holiday ruining. Beautiful house and great location for everything.

The lovely village and lake of Llanberis very close by. Due to visiting prior to pubs/restaurants/cafes opening indoors we found the cooking facilities in the cottage very useful. The photos don't do it justice - immaculately clean and the views of Snowdon and Anglesey are beautiful. We visited with a 4 & 6 year old who had a bedroom each and loved the hot-tub! Towels, bedding, tea-towels and even dishwasher tablets and a small amount of tea & coffee were provided as well as a bottle of wine! Lovely touches. Andy, the owner, couldn't have done more for us. We had a medical emergency and he even offered us a lift - genuinely kind and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and will definitely recommend to friends. • "The cottage was beautiful and had been converted and renovated to a really high standard."

The 'upside down' design was very clever, and we loved the open plan living area upstairs. The welcoming bottle of wine was a lovely surprise and it was really handy to find that we didn't need all the cleaning equipment we had brought with us as it was all provided, even down to the dishcloth! The bedrooms were spacious and exceedingly comfortable and both the main bathroom and the en-suite were really luxurious. It did feel a little odd going 'downstairs' to bed, but we soon got used to that. The weather wasn't too kind to us, so we didn't get as much use out of the hot-tub as we would have liked, but when the opportunity arose it was a real treat and it really soothed aching muscles from walking in the beautiful countryside. The first couple of days, the weather was particularly bad, but the cottage was lovely and cosy - so much so that we had to 'make' ourselves venture out. There was so many places to go and most of them were less than a half hour drive away. There were plenty of lovely restaurants and pubs to eat in and the both the local Chinese and Indian take-away were excellent. Andy, the owner, wasn't intrusive but made it clear that he was available if we had any problems or needed any advice. Our only criticism - the holiday wasn't long enough!
