  • "Trevor Cottage is lovely and in a fantastic location."

All the rooms are large. There are 3 double bedrooms on the second floor which are very firm and great support if you have any major problems with your back. These can take a night or 2 to get used to if you normally sleep on a 'soft' mattress. The pillows are very soft and, if you're used to a firmer pillow, can leave you with neck ache in the morning. The windows at the property need to be closed at the top and bottom in order to lock them. The shower room on the ground floor has a very slippery floor when it's wet so be careful when using the shower. The bedroom in the attic is very warm, as expectic for any attic. The bathroom on the second floor is large and has a very deep free standing bath with a shower attachment. The kitchen is lovely and big with a fantastic 5 burner gas hob and 2 electric ovens, a standard one and a long one. Plenty of glassware, cups and plates. A mixture of cutlery and cooking utensils but there are no tongs so bear that in mind if you want to cook any food on the grill. The dish washer is large enough for a full meal load but may not take 8 place settings in one load. There were plenty of dishwasher tablets as well. The kitchen door is split (a lovely feature in traditional cottage style) so you can open the top part for fresh air. The back garden is nice when you are able to eat outside but be warned, make sure the gate is closed before opening the back door fully if you have a dog. Our dog tried to escape the 1st time we opened the back door fully because the garden gate was open when we first arrived at the cottage and we hadn't noticed that the second gate to the street was also open. We managed to call our dog back, very relieved. The front garden is a haven for birds and seagulls and there are 2 long cages for fat balls hanging from a tree in the front garden. The front garden also has a secure gate and a long seat to sit on and watch the birds, but you can also watch them from the sitting room. The only major drawback with the property is that there was no mobile phone signal. My partner and I are on EE and O2 mobile networks and neither of us could get any mobile signal anywhere in the property, emergency calls only so no texts either. Luckily, the WiFi is very good in the house so I used wifi calling for essential texts. Neither of us could get any wifi in the back garden though. The tv in the sitting room is small and on a small shelf in an alcove. The tv can not be watched properly from all the seats in the sitting room. There is an abundance of interesting fictional novels to read and a very extensive choice in board games in the sitting room, plus lots of leaflets on local attractions and places to visit further away. The recycling is very good with large wheelie bins to the side of the property. These are clearly labelled and, while we were there, were all emptied on a Monday, including the wheelie bin for general household waste. There is a book for comments and a lot of the comments mentioned the small tv in the sitting room. These comments suggested a large, smart tv could be attached to the wall (with a wall bracket for tv's) above the fireplace in the sitting room which I think is a fantastic idea (there is currently a large painting above the fireplace) but this has not been done as yet. There is an amazon tv firestick in the hdmi socket in the tv but, if you haven't ever used one of these before (we have) it can be complicated to navigate. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay but, due to the lack of mobile phone signal, I have only given 4 stars.

Location was perfect between the promenade and high street. Property was warm and comfortable. 3 bedrooms were quite small but perfect for us all for the weekend Only downside was that much of the crockery and glasses had chips in them, I am assuming because of the stone sink and drainer with no bowl. There were only two talk glasses for the kids to have drinks from and both had chips out of them making them dangerous Overall really enjoyed the time there and would book again

The cottage has everything that you need…. The television decided to not work on our first night. We got in touch with Lucy the owner who suggested a couple of things to try first, sadly none did. Informed Lucy of this, to receive a message back to say that a new one had been ordered and would be delivered the next day at a time suitable for us to be back at the cottage, Fantastic!!!! I know a TV isn’t a necessity but it’s nice to have a bit of background noise sometimes. Will definitely book again on our next holiday to Llandudno.

We loved being at Trevor Cottage again, even if it was too warm to light the lovely woodburner! The whole cottage is so comfortable, particularly the beds. Only negatives would be a few cobwebs and the Amazon Fire stick not working; as someone has already said, perhaps it's time for a smart TV? Nothing to put us off staying again though. All beds were so comfy with lovely pillows. Bath was amazing. Kitchen well equipped, garden was lovely and would be great for sitting in on hot sunny days, which obviously the owners can’t supply! It was so nice sitting in the lounge watching the copious amount of birds eating the fat balls that were there. We refilled it many times, hungry little things. Location is amazing? Literally a minutes walk to the promenade and a couple of minutes more to the pier and further attractions. • "Pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the cottage."

It was bigger than anticipated and well furnished. The location was perfect for walks along the prom or shopping. Cottage was cosy and warm. The beds were very comfortable and rooms good size. There were a few little issues that could be easily fixed, some have been mentioned on earlier reviews. * Bathroom taps swivel and turn every time they’re used * Addition of internal door mats at front and back would save a lot of the dirt, wet being carried through the house. * No mattress protector or pillow protectors on the double bed overlooking garden * The toilet brushes were very grubby and long overdue a replacement. Made me gag having to use them! * Oven glove would be useful The bins remain an ever contentious issue with holiday homes. The guide in the house refers to boxed collection service. We’d been told to put everything in the red bin which we did but the bin men just left it, full, on the street. We don’t know who/when it was to be emptied as we returned home. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay at Trevor Cottage and would definitely return.

Also as I have mobility issues there is free parking on the prom. for blue badge holders as well as in the council car parks. It is a real gem in the heart of Llandudno. Only a very short walk to the seafront and pier but still quiet (except the seagulls!) as it is down a side road off the main drag. Shame there's no parking space but it really doesn't matter: we parked outside to unload and then moved the car a short distance to free roadside parking. The 3 main bedrooms are all lovely. The attic room isn't as comfortable, but it was very useful to have a 4th room with twin beds. Front and back gardens are secure, perfect for dogs. There were flies all over the bed, and the window. We lifted a basket from above the clothes rail and all maggots and debris went all over my daughter's clean holiday clothes that she had hung up before the flies were over everything. I complained to the owner, she got the cleaners out. We had to waste a day of our holiday waiting for them. They supposedly cleaned the room. That night there were flies all over it again. My daughter and her husband had to go and stay in a hotel. We ended up coming home early. The owner gave us compensation of £315. The cottage cost over £1200 for the week. What a joke! So conveniently located, close to the Promenade and sea yet right by the shops and restaurants. Warm and friendly, especially at Christmas. Thanks to Lucy for all the Christmas decorations. An impressive Christmas Tree! Just one or two small maintenance niggles (not unexpected at the end of a busy letting year) and some areas beginning to look a bit tired and in need of a freshen up. We will speak separately to Lucy re those, but nothing to spoil yet another very enjoyable week at Trevor Cottage.

Nice comfortable home and great position. We are in the market to purchase a holiday let and this was a good basis for us, a great standard for us to work to, all we would add would be a welcome basket and information pack, surrounding area etc

  • "Llandudno is a splendid place and Trevor Cottage was in the perfect location."

The house was very clean and generally well equipped. However, though it sleeps eight people, the living room would not in any way accommodate that number. As it was, it was very " cosy" for six adults. One us always had to sit on a hard chair when we were all together. I suggest that the chest of drawers be removed in favour of another sofa. Otherwise, we had a lovely time.

  • "Lovely clean cottage in a fantastic location."

Close to the beach, shops, cafes and restaurants. Great base for exploring North Wales. The cottage itself was spacious and clean and and a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. The only slight negative is that the fridge/freezer was very small and not a great deal of space if 8 people wanted to cook every day/night. Fortunately, we didn’t as there are so many lovely places to eat within 5 minutes walk. Overall, a fantastic place to stay and I would highly recommend it. I would definitely go back again.

  • "The cottage was lovely and as well situated as we'd hoped, so close to the sea and shops and yet very quiet inside."

Lucy drove over to deliver light bulbs as 4 were not working. She is very available and helpful. The only complaint we had was the very small fridge and the very small freezer that doesn't work properly. I was with 2 friends and we filled it easily and it's a house that fits up to 8 adults so it would be great to have a fridge/freezer to fit that many! Do beware unless you have a blue badge you can't park outside, but I found it easy to find somewhere to park only a few minutes walk away.

  • "The location of this property cannot be improved upon, quite literally only 2 minutes from the promenade and a little over 5 to the pier or restaurants/bars etc."

The property itself is very versatile in terms of sleeping arrangements having 3 double bedrooms on the first floor and two singles in the attic room. None are en-suite but there is a bath/toilet on the same floor as the double beds. and a shower/toilet on the ground floor. This did not cause us any problems at all. The property is situated on a small side street off the promenade so car parking is limited to picking things up or dropping things off. There are loads of free parking streets around but these spaces are quickly snapped up by day visitors to the town. That said even the furthest away that we parked was still less than 10 minutes walk back. The facilities provided were very good throughout although we did have to clean some of the oven racks and utensils before first using them. This was probably just an oversight and only a very minor issue for us. Overall a very pleasant stay had by one and all in a great property and in a great location. I would highly recommend it.

Parking is a nightmare had to park our car a 10-minute walk away. Bedrooms lovely with very comfey beds although sleep can be challenging as them seagulls never stop squawking day and night. Spotlessly clean inside and well equipped with only 2 minor-ish gripes. The main oven didnt work so had to use the much smaller oven which was very narrow. The fridge is way to small to accommodate larger family and the freezer was so blocked full of ice it was impossible to put anything in there. Saying that though there are countless shops and places to eat out within a very short walking distance so if you dont mind eating out a lot then this is the place for you...

It's in a fantastic location a minute from the sea front and a few minutes walk into the town centre for shops, restaurants etc. It's spacious, yet cosy and the photographs really don't do it justice. Ours was a short break for a family birthday, comprising six adults, two children and a baby and it was more than spacious, plus fully equipped for the baby and kitchen equipment to make a big family meal. It was absolutely spotless when we arrived and we loved the decor, Lucy has obviously put lots of effort into unique, individual touches that made it feel special. We hope to return - if it's ever available again - and understand why it's so popular!

The dining room overlooks the pretty rear garden and is ideal for family meals and the kitchen is modern and well equipped.

About the location

LLANDUDNO

Conwy 4 miles, Colwyn Bay 6 miles, Snowdonia 20 miles.

Llandudno lies between two headlands, the Great Orme and the Little Orme and it is these headlands, and the town's two waterfronts, that give this tourist resort its special appeal. The town offers two superb beaches - the North Shore, with its wide promenade backed by an imposing crescent of Victorian hotels and the quieter West Shore with miles of sandy shoreline backed by sand dunes and superb views towards Anglesey. For the best views, however, you can reach the summit of the 679ft Great Orme using either the Great Orme Tramway or by taking an exciting cable car ride of over a mile. The town has an excellent selection of shops, pubs, restaurants and cafés, as well as Venue Cymru, which is North Wales' premier theatrical stage for opera, ballet, musicals, comedy and visiting orchestras, boasting a programme that is second to none - all this is just a stone's throw from the promenade. Just 4 miles away is the town of Conwy - a designated World Heritage Site. A true medieval gem, Conwy is dominated by a splendid castle and completely enclosed by its well-preserved town walls. Discover miles of sandy beaches along the North Wales coast and excellent walking and climbing in the Snowdonia National Park just 20 minutes' drive away - there's plenty to see and do!
