"We had the most fabulous holiday."
Very happy to see the massive upstairs bed.. although don't think it's listed as a super king. Its a bonus so I would mention it. We only used the one bedroom but looked in at the others and they were all fabulous. the two bathrooms very modern and efficient. One minor point, I think the upstairs bathroom could do with a mirror on the wall above the sink. All in all, we had a fabulous holiday and will definitely try to rebook next year.

"Absolutely beautiful house overlooking the sea."
Directions from farm not very clear. Could do with some signage to get to the house as you think your going wrong going through fields but once there the dirt track was worth it
-
"It was a lovely cottage, the views were beautiful."
The kids enjoyed being by the Sea and to have that view with a morning cuppa you couldn’t beat. It was a great holiday making memories with the family. Road getting to the cottage was interesting, I can see issues on bad weather days. Thank you for a great week.

"This is the second time we have stayed at Trefollwyn Mawr and it was as good as the first time (weather wasn't quite as kind) from the wonderful views down to the homemade cake which was waiting for us when we arrived."
It is a lovely house on its own near the sea, perfect for us and the dogs, the house is amazing and has everything you would need. I don't really want to tell people about this little gem of a place as everyone will want to go. It is also near to lots of other beautiful places, this year we discovered Aberdarren, which is a beautiful village and we had a meal where we could take the dogs right on the sea front, fabulous. I'm hoping we'll get to go back again soon.

"Many thanks for a great stay in a wonderful house."
Everything was outstanding - great location, lovely property, all sparkling clean and great facilities. Wonderful for both people and dogs, and we’d love to visit again. Great care taken to ensure that we had all we needed - and the cake and Prosecco were a very welcome extra touch!
-
"Loved this cottage, would definitely stay there again"
-
"It was fantastic!"
We couldn't have asked for better, and the space was even better than we had imagined.
-
"This cottage is unbelievable."
The views are stunning, there is lots of privacy around the cottage as it is very remote and everything was just how we expected. The kitchen has had a face lift since the original photos that we had seen so it was a lovely surprise. Everything was clean and the cottage was very roomy and cosy. We would definitely recommend it and we will be staying again in the future.

"We had a lovey break in this amazing farmhouse."
Everything that we needed for two families and two dogs was here! The walk to the beach was very muddy, but we had fun traversing across the fields and reaching Hells Mouth, be prepared with Wellington boots, there isn’t really a clear path marked out. The house was very cosy and comforting, with plenty of spaces for everyone to relax in. The only thing I would recommend to bring is some speakers/radio as there isn’t one in the house. For anyone bringing their four-legged friends, the garden is secure and enclosed, reading a few reviews before we left had me a bit worried, but it is all secure. The owners are very accommodating and responsive if there are any issues, they also left a very tasty cake for us on arrival!! Thank you :)

"We had a lovely week at the farm house it was large but warm and during our stay we had some very windy wet weather but house was cosy."
Track to the house is very long wet and muddy often with cows and sheep standing in the way, sheep moved no problem but the cows by the gate you need to open at the bottom took more convincing. Not that it bothered us but 2 of the family in their little Argo car felt a little intimidated surrounded by young bullocks. We would like to stay again but for us the garden is not secure and has many sheep yards away from our large young dog who has never chased sheep but she was very interested so made me very nervous if they ran she would think it was a good game. But it is very much a working farm so not complaining just something I need to think of in future The Potted Lobster in Abersoch was very good also and dog friendly but you need to book way in advance So yes I would recommend but take your wellies

"This is a farmhouse which is very spacious, two living rooms and a dining room with sofa area."
Upstairs four bedrooms and downstairs one which is opposite the shower room. We found it hilarious that this downstairs bathroom window is next to the cow field and the cows take great pleasure in staring straight in! Our children loved the cows that came to the fence in the garden, a highlight of the stay. There was a very useful utility room with a washer & dryer. All you need in the kitchen too. The only niggles we had were that even when WiFi was working, the tv wouldn’t connect as it was so far away from the router in the upstairs back bedroom, no mirror in the main bathroom and in the light bedroom overlooking the garden it needs the mattress replaced as it’s hard and very noisy. This does not detract from the fact that we loved our stay here, listening to the sound of the waves from the garden while having morning coffee was bliss!! Lovely freestanding bath overlooking the fields and sea views was very relaxing. Very comfortable sofas in the main living area. Nerys the owner was extremely helpful too, and thank you for the cake & Prosecco on arrival.

"The location of Trefollwyn is what sets this place apart from the rest."
Set a mile down a rough farm track, it's set high on a clifftop with astonishing sea views. A large secure garden was perfect for our 3 dogs, and the lack of neighbours meant the reactive one of the pack was relaxed and calm. Plenty of space, we were impressed in particular with the quality of the sofas which are clearly new and different from pictured (so many holiday cottages seem to have poor sofas so this was very appreciated!) The upstairs bathroom has been renovated from the pictures too, with a large bathtub pointing directly at the sea views. The cottage had everything we needed in terms of facilities, and was clean throughout. We had to hunt for the towels however, eventually finding them all in the upstairs bathroom cupboard (would be better if they could be placed on beds). WiFi was poor which annoyed the teens, the router was in an upstairs bedroom so some boosters downstairs might help this (although i appreciate the remoteness means the WiFi would never be great) This was our first visit to Wales and we were blown away by the beauty of the place. Nearest town with shops is Pwllheli which has an Asda, Abersoch is close by with all its attractions. Aberdaron is a must visit, simply stunning including the drive. We also visited Portmeirion which is only an hour away.

"Our stay was exactly what we were looking for, beautiful & peaceful."
The cottage was fantastic, so beautifully decorated with a great mix of old & new. All modern kitchen & bathrooms with comfortable beds & furniture without losing the old charm of the cottage. Brilliant garden for us & the 3 dogs, who were intrigued with the sheep & cows in the fields around, as they were with us. Loved the freestanding bath, with full view of the fields & the sea. Some lovely scenery & local beaches that were unspoilt. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place to be.
-
"Lovely house in a fantastic location, the only thing you could improve the Wi-Fi, if that is even possible."
We all enjoyed it very much. Thank you
-
"This house was amazing,my dream property,we could've stayed here and not gone home."
The track is rough and bumpy but we'll worth it when you get to the property. You have views from every room including a sea view. We went with 3 dogs, perfect flooring, great utility room and nice enclosed garden. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and had everything you would need, can't fault this property in anyway.
-
"Overall the farmhouse was very nice."
The homemade cake was especially good. We enjoyed our stay however a few areas were not as good as they could have been. Cobwebs and some areas need looking at. Just a little tired and in need of attention. These things however did not ruin our stay. The worst part was the lane. It was dreadful and does need looking at. When it says a rough lane that is an understatement!! also finding it. Maybe a few signs so you do not end up knee deep in mud!! I know it would be expensive to fix the lane however it is something that would make you want to go back. As the view and general faciliteis were okay. All my guests thought that although we had a good time, we would not return here mainly because we value the suspension on our cars.
-
"Lovely peaceful location, views beautiful and accommodation comfortable with plenty space for all to relax"
-
"We really enjoyed our stay- the house was comfortable and well- equipped."
Directions were clear. The house was warm and we soon christened the bath ‘sunset bath’ as the view over the sea was great. The way down to the beach was very muddy at times but once we sussed out the best route it was a joy to be able to walk everyday on a secluded beach stretching for miles. The homemade cake was much appreciated and delicious. We loved our holiday here and would definitely return
-
"Excellent property, really comfortable."
Location ideal and as described. Would suggest a sign in the farmyard directing you where to turn to the track/ road to the property otherwise cannot rate it highly enough if you want peace and quiet with stunning views. Hope to visit again.
-
"The cottage is lovely and spacious, everything you need is available."
Beds were a bit hard for our liking but that is personal choice not a criticism. A couple of points to raise - the front door would not lock so had to use the flimsy bolt which isn’t very secure but not an issue I suppose because of the location. The other thing a few of the plates had a few bits of food left on where the dishwasher had not cleaned properly but that’s down to previous occupier. We had a lovely week in a lovely cottage and if we are ever in the area again we would definitely stay there again. Tim and the Steed family
-
"The property is set in such a beautiful and secluded place, deep into farm land just a short walk away from an almost private stretch of beach, 4 miles in length."
The garden, and surrounding fields, provided ample space for the children to play in. The views are simply incredible. You have an amazing view from each and every window in the house. Superb stay, and would not hesitate to book again in the future!
-
"This was the holiday we were hoping for."
The property was lovely and the location perfect. Couldn’t have wished for anything else. The home made cake was a lovely touch and was delicious. Would recommend this property

"Great Location, Fantastic Views , Very Relaxing And Peaceful Holiday, Highly Recommend."
-
"Fabulous stay at this fantastic property."
Massive group of friends and family with 4 children and assorted adults we had a full house. But the layout of the house and the bedrooms we didn't feel over crowded. The views are absolutely stunning. Having sheep wander past the window while you use the facilities and cows watch you cook entertained the kids throughly. Beds were comfortable and the bathrooms are lovely and roomy. Utility room is fabulous for storing beach stuff, kids junk and extras. The road is pretty rough, but take it slow and it was fine. One night we got trapped for ten minutes by escaped cows, and thought we saw a wolf (actually an escaped Shetland pony) which was a hilarious experience and they moved easily with a quick honk of the horn. Loads of parking is a plus. The little garden was a plus for the kids. We found a gorgeous little beach not too far away which was great. The only tiny downsides to the holiday was: 1. The dining room can feel a little cramped when fully occupied. It's not the end of the world, but I wish the extra sofa wasn't there for our group size. 2. The hob shattered - however a call to the owner and she couldn't have been more supportive and helpful. She had it repaired first thing the next day. Brilliant attitude and so friendly. We will definitely return. Fantastic holiday, in a gorgeous area. 5* owners!

"We have just returned from a wonderful week in this gorgeous farm house."
The scenery and views are spectacular in every direction and we found everything we needed to have a brilliant stay with a large group of family and friends. The owner and her son popped over to say hello towards the end of our week and were lovely, the whole place is very welcomimg. The track through the farm to the property is a tad bumpy but you should expect this as you are booking a property on a working farm. Will definitely return! Thankyou!!
-
"Absolutely stunning cottage, with a amazing views, couldn’t have asked for anything better, it’s in a lovely area of wales, the driveway was a bit bumpy, but it did say that in the description, so can’t complain."
The cottage was well equipped, it could do with an information book about how the heating works, Wi-Fi ect, but owner text us to see if we got there and any questions we had, we just gave a text to them and the were very helpful. Will definitely be coming back.

"Would we come back?"
Yes Is it easy to get to? Google Maps will take you to the doorstep but it’s approx 1.5miles on a farm track road. A bigger car/4x4 is recommended. What’s good? Amazing location right by the sea. Very close to Abersoch which I’d describe as “the Welsh Sandbanks”. Amazing beaches, great food, Cafés, delis and pubs (Crust Pizza was a favourite). Clean and spacious house and rooms. Bottle of Prosecco and some chocolate/caramel rice crispy cakes (very good) and flowers left by the owners for us. What could be better? Two easy fixes, and one that’s a bit trickier! Welcome book - there should be a welcome book that tells you all the things you should know about the area, best places to go, contact numbers etc. Wi-Fi - yes, technically there’s Wi-Fi but on speed tests it was between 0.7 and 0.9 mbp/s so don’t expect to be able to watch films on a laptop/firestick etc. Phone signal wasn’t great (we’re on 3) but according to signal checker EE and Vodafone are good. Water pressure - this is the hard one. The showers were ok, if not temperamental. If you get in first and no one else is running the water anywhere else in the house you can have a good shower. Anything after that and it’s a bit of a lottery. Overall it’s a great place to stay with some incredible places to go locally. It’s a great holiday house. I’ve said it with other reviews: you don’t come on holiday for the Wi-Fi so if you can get past the showers this place is definitely worth visiting.

"The cottage was perfectly set up for a family getaway."
The kids loved the farm and seeing all the animals. The family were very friendly.
-
"Just returned from our stay at this clean, comfortable farmhouse."
Plenty of space inside and out for our party of 6 adults, 3 children and dogs! Stunning views with only the cows, sheep and birds for neighbours. Closer to the sea than I expected, with maybe just a 5 minute walk to the headland. The scramble down to the beach did take a little longer, but could be done with care. Only problem was the water pressure, the first week was fine, but the second week at times it was reduced to just a dribble, perhaps there was a problem somewhere? Once you where through the farmyard the track to the farmhouse was fine, remember this is a working farm track not the M6! We would be happy to book this farmhouse again.
-
"Lovely big house , very friendly owner /farmer & lovely cake & prossecco on arrival ."
Very comfortable and clean and well equipped . Perfect for families with dogs ( enclosed garden) and children .Beach very close , involves a bit of a scramble . Lots of places to visit nearby . Follow directions down the long farm track as there are no signs . We saw a hen harrier nearly every day in the field on the approach to the house .
-
"A fantastic, relaxing week in the most beautiful location."
We were 2 families - a group of 4 adults and 4 teenagers... there was ample space in the property for us all to spread out comfortably - the internet was a little slow (to be expected...) and we had occasional low water pressure, but nothing we couldn't live with! We would recommend this property to anyone who isn't put off by a long, bumpy track (signage from the farmyard to the house would also be helpful) and who isn't expecting a 5* modern house - it's homely, spacious and was perfect for us! A delicious homemade cake and bottles of wine awaited us on arrival - a lovely touch. It was spotlessly clean with plenty of towels, equipped with everything you could need. The property is quite isolated - complete tranquillity but we would imagine it's not for everyone... your only neighbours are sheep and cows! . A short, but steep climb down to the beach which we had to ourselves, incredible views from the house and garden - idyllic! Enjoy - we did!
-
"Lovely house for a get together with family or friends."
Amazing views of the sea. Away from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives. Nice to have contact with the owners if we had a problem. Would benefit from the occasional sign on the farm gates to assure you are going in the right direction when going over a few fields. Will definitely return with the family.
-
"What a wonderful place, glorious views, warm, cosy and comfortable."
We arrived to find fresh flowers, home made cake and a couple of bottles of wine and our lovely land lady had already phoned me to ask if there was anything we needed. The house is down a farm track miles from anywhere but not difficult to find if you follow the excellent instructions and well worth the effort. We loved it and had a marvellous 5 days exploring this beautiful part of North Wales.

"Just returned from a fabulous, relaxing, dog friendly, get away from it all break at Treffolwyn Mawr."
If you’re looking for a place that’s full of old world charm and character located within sight and sound of an almost deserted beach, then this is for you. The property is located down a long farm track, that is a little bumpy in places but my son pottled up and down here in a mini with no issues other than gently encouraging the cows to move off the track. The views from the property are stunning and it’s a short walk to the beach. It’s a bit of a scramble down to the beach but my 75 year old father managed this every day by taking it steady. Great welcome pack that included one of the best homemade cakes we’ve eaten. It’s not 5 star but is clean with very comfy beds and Nerys and her family made us feel very welcome. This is located on a working farm so is livestock around but the garden is enclosed and suitable for dogs. Fabulous week even if the weather could have been better. Looking to rebook soon.

"Just perfect for a total getaway break!"
Beautiful solitude with breath taking views. A very homely house where we immediately felt comfortable. The downstairs bedroom ideal for my 90 year old mum who enjoyed sitting in the garden looking at the views
-
"My family and I really enjoyed our stay."
The house had everything our group could wish for. The bedrooms where comfortable and cozy, plenty of space in the house for all age groups to spread out. The kitchen was well equipped So any meal was easy to prepare. The house is situated on land close to coast and every room has breathtaking views . We loved the whole experience and will definitely be returning , hopefully for a longer stay.

"This is a wonderful cottage in a fantastic location."
It is spacious, comfortable, well- equipped and full of character. It’s a great spot for beaches, walks and exploring the Llyn Peninsula. We had a great holiday there!
-
"Lovely, comfortable house in an exceptional position."
Should be noted that there is no access by foot to the beach, but takes a short car ride. We had a great holiday and would hope to return to Trefollwyn Marr.
-
"The farmhouse is lovely and remote with the sea only 2 fields away."
It's a bit of a scramble down on to the beach but is worth it. The owners were very friendly. Being in the middle of cow and sheep fields was great for the kids. The farmhouse is spacious with 3 seating areas so you can space yourself out if you are a larger group. Loved our holiday. 10/10.
-
"Trefollwyn Mawr is set in the most beautiful surroundings, with far reaching mountain and coastal views."
The farmhouse is peaceful and located on a working farm. We were often greeted by the cows and sheep which provided much entertainment to our party! A lovely addition to the holiday! It would be unfair to be critical about such a beautiful place and we did have a lovely week away as a family but a few points are worthy of note to anyone visiting Trefollwyn. The description regarding the access to the property via an ‘uneven and bumpy road through farmland’ is an understatement. When driving through the farm yard, the ground underneath was rocky, muddy and severely uneven. We did suffer some rain which made driving to and from the cottage quite treacherous. This, we felt, should be described more accurately as any person who books this property who had a lower or sporty car would have much difficulty in gaining access without potentially causing damage to their car. The water pressure was very poor and we had to adjust to announcing when one of us was having a shower so to not flush the toilets or turn the taps on. Again, we totally accepted that it’s a working farm and animals need their water but we adapted and it became part of the character of the farm house! The description stated that the beach was ‘within easy reach on foot’. Firstly, it was a stunning beach with barely anyone on it but it was not an easy walk to the beach. The grandparents in our group would not have made it down the cliff to the beach and we struggled carrying our toddler down. We did this on one occasion and decided to not brave it again. You can drive round to the beach so that was an option. The WiFi is slow in the property but then it’s a beautiful farmhouse in the middle of nowhere! The above points are not criticism to the property but are worthy of note. Nerys and her family were nothing but helpful and the positives definitely out weigh any negatives. It was a memorable holiday and we would visit again. Thank you!

"The driveway going unto the cottage was ok until you got to the farm yard - here there were big holes which damaged the bottom of our car so a 4x4 car would have been better even in the summer."
The owners acted quickly and filled the hole with soil but quite nervy to go in and out of the cottage though the farm yard. The water due to hot weather was intermittent which we put up with as guessed it wasn't like home - and the cows were thirsty. We loved having the cows and sheep right on the doorstep. It was an old Farm Cottage and was decorated that way and we really enjoyed our week there - one of our best holidays with the whole family. The walk down to the beach was a walk through fields and a scramble up and down the hills which again we enjoyed (but not for little toddlers) The beach was amazing and the owners and son were on hand by phone if needed to help out. Very attentive. The views, beach, cottage were amazing - very good memories so if you want a away from everything holiday this is it. No neighbours to worry about if you have teething toddlers!! :)
-
"We felt that the description of the property was inaccurate."
The property is in desperate need of repair and decorating. We also found that the kitchen equipment was lacking- for example it was meant to accommodate 11 people but the pans were only big enough for 5 or 6, there were no large casserole dishes or baking trays. The radiator in the children’s bedroom had to be turned off as it was right next to one of the children’s beds. And the track leading to the property was nicknamed the track of doom by other members of the party. This was mentioned in the description, however it really should have been highlighted as the track was a disgrace and could easily damage cars. In addition the property was filthy. I would return to the area again, but definitely not this property. I really think that Sykes should reconsider listing this property, if this had been our first experience with Sykes we would not use them again.

"Lovely house,wonderful location."
The garden was enclosed so great for our dog. We celebrated my 60th birthday with family with a bbq in the garden. Fantastic sea views, amazing weather. A short walk through the fields and we were on a lovely beach, Hell's Mouth cove. Very peaceful. Wish we had had longer there!
-
"Very difficult going through the farm but once out track good and easy."
Wonderful to be in the middle of nowhere very peaceful cottage with plenty of room. Unfortunately the storm which happened 2 or 3 weeks before washed away the path to the beach although it was still possible to reach it was very difficult. The bonus for us was the location had very little light pollution and the stars at night were amazing.
-
"The cottage was wonderful."
We went with our 3 children aged, 9,14 and 17 and my husband's parents. Plenty of space, enough Wi-Fi to keep the children happy and very comfortable. The cottage was cosy and lots of nice touches. Will definitely be going again.
-
"Owners very approachable and accomadating."
Wonderful location and wonderful stay, will defiantly return.
-
"A lovely farmhouse in beautiful rural and coastal settings."
This is a working farm but at no time were we disturbed so so peaceful and stunning views but only a ten minute drive to Abersoch and surrounding areas. Lovely to see the sheep and cows. The farmhouse is extremely clean and spacious. Very well equipped. We met a couple of the farm owners, lovely people who would have been there if we needed them, not that we did. They lived in the next farmhouse which was visible but not on top of us. We were a party of 6 adults and 3 dogs we all had a relaxed, chilled time. The enclosed garden is so safe for dogs or indeed children too. Thank you to Nerys and her family. We will definitely return.
-
"We had a lovely time in a beautiful part of Wales."
Beautiful views from the house and only a short distance from the beach. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay for our family including a baby, toddler and dogs.
-
"A perfect holiday place."
The scenery and views were quite stunning. The garden was perfect for young children to play safely and we enjoyed the peeceful sheep and cows surrounding the house! The house was very well equipped and there was plenty of space. We all had a super holiday. Many thanks. The only negative thing ( and I hardly like to mention it as we had such a super time but am doing so because it might be helpful for the future) The bed in the lilac bedroom upstairs was rather uncomfortable. Please do not include this part if you publish the feedback)

About the location
ABERSOCH
Pwllheli 6 miles.
The attractive harbour village of Abersoch is situated on the Llyn Peninsula in a region of Wales renowned for its outstanding scenery and varied walking. The village, situated between two glorious bays, is one of the most popular sailing venues in North Wales and important sailing regattas are held there throughout the summer months. Numerous shops cater for the tourist as well as pubs, restaurants and cafes. There are also opportunities for golfers as there is a course just outside the village and horse riding facilities are also available nearby. Watersports enthusiasts are also well catered for, particularly windsurfing, water skiing and dinghy sailing, not to mention renowned surfing at Port Neigwl (Hell’s Mouth). The long, sandy Abersoch Main Beach is probably the most popular beach in the area. There is a wonderful selection of beaches in the surrounding area of the Llyn Peninsula, including the beautiful and often quiet Porth Ceriad, with it's high cliffs, and sandy Porth Oer ("Whistling Sands"). Most of the coastline is owned by the National Trust and there are many remote bays, sandy beaches and cliffs, as well as wildlife havens like Bardsey Island to explore.
