Clean, well kitted out, fantastic location and couldn't ask for better hosts, welcoming, friendly and great source of info on local area. Highly recommend.

  • "We had a really lovely stay in Barn 2, just what was needed after a hectic couple of weeks."

The barn had everything we needed to make the stay enjoyable. The pub food is not to be missed, but you may need to book at table as it's understandably popular. All the staff we really friendly and helpful and our dog had a great time too :) It is in easy reach of lovely walks from the barn into Llangollen along the canal with lots of little independent shops and cafes. The Aquaduct at Pontcysyllte is also worth a trip, the Chapel tea room is great for parking and refreshments or meals. Thank you

  • "We stayed here for a wedding at the nearby Tower Hill Barns, which is just a short drive away."

It was perfect, with each bedroom having an en suite bathroom so everyone could get ready at the same time. The barn is fitted out to a high standard and is situated in the spectacular Llangollen valley, ideal for exploring the beautiful local area. We were able to do plenty of sightseeing during the rest of the weekend. There is also the advantage of having the Sun Trevor pub next door which serves delicious food and drink. Special thanks to Katy, Paul and the rest of the staff who were very friendly, happy to provide advice on the local area and made us feel extremely welcome. We would have no hesitation in coming back and would recommend the barn to anyone looking to stay in the area. David, Rachel, Amy, Sam and Bailey

  • "6 of us plus dog stayed in Barn 2, there was plenty of space for us all."

The bedrooms are comfy and the ensuites were great, showers powerful and hot. There were some nice touches like the coffee pod machine with plenty of pods supplied. There isn't a dishwasher, which wasn't a big problem, but would have been nice to have. We did find the fridge too small for 6 people's provisions. The area is lovely, some really nice walks in the hills and along the canal and a visit to the aqueduct is a must. There is a smell outside the barn from the septic tank which was unpleasant and would stop you sitting outside in good weather. We were there in October so didn't cause us an issue. The Sun Trevor pub does good food and everyone was incredibly friendly.

  • "We had a fabulous stay in Barn 2 at the end of September, it was a trip to celebrate a notable birthday."

Paul, Katy and all the team made us feel so welcome and having the excellent pub next door, especially as they serve cask ale, which was in great condition along with an extensive food choices. Rory our labradoodle enjoyed all the fuss. A truly dog friendly environment. The accommodation was perfect for us and most comfortable. The local walks were amazing, with the canal into Llangollen, just over the road. I also enjoyed golf at the Vale of Llangollen Golf Club which was one of the most spectacular I have played. We will return xx

  • "Fabulous place to stay."

The views are amazing. The accommodation Barn 2 we stayed in was spotlessly clean. The hosts were very welcoming. Dog walks along the canal right opposite the barn to Llangollen helped to walk off some of the food & drink! The Sun pub on the door step was a great bonus with nice food at a reasonable price. The only thing that bothered us was an awful smell from the cesspit that spoilt it for us, really needs sorting out before we would stay there again. A shame as everything else was spot on.

  • "Very happy with the barn but felt it lacked some basic facilities."

I think a hairdryer, dishwasher and bigger hob would improve the barn. As the barn sleeps 6 adults a two ring hob is not adequate. People are on holiday and can’t afford to eat out every day so the kitchen facilities could be improved. We really enjoyed our stay and we’re made to feel very welcome. We would recommend to other people.

Owners Katy and Paul were very welcoming and helpful both prior to our arrival and once we were there. Their pub next door serves the most delicious food with huge portions! A good location for visiting Chirk Castle and Erddig and the walk along the canal path into Llangollen is lovely. Something to be aware of, this barn does not have a washing machine, dishwasher, hairdryer or iron. We had a lovely stay despite the wet weather and would highly recommend.

We were not disappointed. The accommodation is next to Sun Trevor pub and Kate and Paul are fabulous and kind hosts. The cottage has everything you need with all bedrooms en-suite. Beds are comfy and linen sheets high quality. Comfy sofas to relax on whilst watching TV. The family at the pub were so helpful and helped us when ever we needed anything. The food at the pub is great and portions amazing. Dog friendly too Thanks for a wonderful stay at Barn 2. Highly recommended xx

  • "Great position and setting with lovely walk into Llangollen, along canal."

Super comfortable beds, confortable living area and fabulous showers and washing facilities. A few negatives, which might not bother some people, was that, after receiving our food order for the week, on the day we arrived, we had nowhere to put all our frozen food. Just managed to fit a bag of frozen chips and tub of ice cream in the freezer compartment available. Paul, the owner, did say that we could have used their freezer but we didn't want to do that. Plus, I thought, from the description, that I would be able to let our dog out onto our own garden and patio, but this wasn't the case with barn 2, only barn 1, with no garden to any, unfortunately. Also, smell from the sceptic tank was very off putting. Big negatives for us, which was a real shame, cos everything else were perfect and spot on.

  • "Lovely property furnished and finished to a very high standard and in a stunning location with everything you need for a short stay."

A larger fridge (or a second fridge in the cupboard under the stairs) and a dishwasher would have been nice especially as we were there for a week. Paul was brilliant - nothing was too much trouble and his knowledge of the area was invaluable. We had a lovely meal at the pub next door where the staff were all really welcoming and friendly. We will certainly be back for a few days sometime soon hopefully.

  • "We have just arrived home after a wonderful 5 night stay in Barn 2."

Paul and Katy were fantastic hosts, Katy checked in by text a few days before our holiday and both were there to welcome us when we arrived and to show us around, and were always around with a smile and to see how we were getting on, making sure we had everything we needed and had plenty of recommendations on places to visit in the local area. The barn itself was spotless when we arrived and had everything we could need to get our holiday started, with fresh milk, tea, coffee and a lovely coffee machine (we didn't use it though). The barn has everything you need and is a proper home from home, we ate in twice so cooked our own meals, had a takeaway from a fab Chinese in Chirk and we ate in the Sun Trevor one night where the food was lovely. The staff in the pub are great and gave us some recommendations on where to take our dog so he could play in the river and came and sit with us and gave him some fuss when he was anxious. I cannot fault this accommodation, fantastic central location with Llangollen town centre just a few minutes away and plenty of things to do in the area. Thanks Paul, Katy and the team for a lovely stay, we will definitely be back :) Natalie, Helen, Joan and Reggie

  • "This barn is newly converted & really lovely inside."

It is comfortable & warm with the best showers you could wish for in all three of the beautiful en-suite bathrooms. It was immaculately clean & the owners, who run the attached pub, are really helpful. We would certainly stay again, but it is worth noting that, for 6 people, the fridge space is quite small, so we struggled to store all our supermarket delivery! If we had known that there were an Aldi & a Tesco a couple of miles away, we wouldn’t have bothered with a delivery. The house is aimed at families who don’t want to prepare their own meals (only 2 ring hob), so this is vital information. The views around it are stunning & there are some great things to do for all ages. The only very minor. things that would improve it would be hooks on the backs of all bedroom doors to increase hanging space & maybe a table lamp in the living space for evening, as the spotlights, whilst zoned, are quite bright. Overall an excellent place! Well done Paul & Katie.

We found it ideal for us as a party of six and one dog. Pub next door if you fancy a drink and / or a meal - you could even have it delivered to the cottage if you fancy a night in. Llangollen canal on the opposite side of the road; with a path running parallel leading to Llangollen and the Horse Shoe falls in one direction and the Froncysyllte Viaduct and Chirk in the other direction. Plenty of Public Footpaths clise by as well - the dog was well pleased with us!
