"Hendre is spacious, very comfortable & well equipped, a really lovely place to be & a pleasure to come back to after a day out."
It’s very peaceful with lovely views, particularly from the main upstairs bedroom, looking across to Moel Famau which we walked up on a warm, sunny day. The owners are lovely, on hand next door if needed and the welcome tray included a fantastic assortment of cakes & a bottle of wine. A real home from home & definitely recommended

"Lovely cottage."
Everything we needed, not too far from lots of locations. Lovely little extras on our arrival. Definitely be rebooking. Thank you
-
"We spent the week here and honestly felt like home, beautifully decorated and owner has thought of everything to make our stay perfect."
Could not fault anything, we were a family of 5 so kids slept upstairs and had lots of space for themselves. We stayed downstairs and again lots of space, nice having two bathrooms. Ideal place if you want peace and quiet. Kids loved the welcome pack of cakes and brownies and our youngest especially loved Neddy and giving him carrots everyday. We will hopefully be back again in the future.

"Hendre was like home from home!"
The house had everything we needed. We arrived and everything looked so welcoming, there was also a tray with cakes, coffee and tea, box of chocolates and Milk in the fridge, we really enjoyed eating all of it! Our daughters with their husbands and Grandchildren enjoyed staying with us there so much. The highlight for our granddaughter was of course “Neddy” the pony and we all playing and sitting in the garden. We had lovely weather and the house is in good distance for lovely days out! Views from the house and area around are stunning! We had an absolutely lovely holiday and would definitely recommend this lovely holiday home! Gerallt and Ros thank you for everything , also for the cot and high chair.

"A lovely place to stay."
Quiet and peaceful. A real home away from home and every consideration thought about and provided to make for a relaxing stay. Made great friends with the Shetland pony and the rabbit family in the paddock ! Highly recommended

"From the moment we arrived we knew it was the right decision and then stepping through the door just confirmed it."
There was a welcome tray of cakes and chocolates, a beautiful lounge diner with reclining sofas and a huge log burner. The kitchen has everything you need, and a utility with a washer and dryer. On the ground floor is a beautiful double bedroom and wet room. Upstairs and other two bedrooms and a bathroom. Everything has been well thought out, beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. The garden wraps around with plenty of outdoor seating and a little summerhouse with furniture, the only thing missing was the barbeque. We enjoyed the peace and tranquility and the far reaching views. Our morning welcome from Neddy, the Shetland, was lovely. Would we go again ... Yes! Yes! Yes! An absolutely 5* property.

"Nestled in a serene setting, my three-week stay at The Hendre was an absolute delight."
From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with warmth and charm. The cottage boasts a cozy ambiance, adorned with tasteful decor that adds a touch of elegance to its rustic charm. The Hendre offers a thoughtful array of amenities that cater to every need, ensuring a comfortable stay. From the well-equipped kitchen to the impeccably clean facilities, it's evident that attention to detail is paramount here. What truly stood out during my time at The Hendre was the tranquil atmosphere of its location. The hospitality of the host was exceptional, with a seamless check-in process and a warm welcome that included delightful homemade cakes and milk in the fridge. In conclusion, The Hendre offers a perfect blend of comfort, tranquility, and hospitality.

"A bit delayed in leaving feedback as our stay was end of October 2023 but had a wonderful time here."
Was cosy indoors with log burner on whilst stormy weather outside. Lovely well equipped cottage. Fab welcome tray, milk in fridge, wine and ground coffee and cafetière which was a lovely surprise. Whilst the location feels off the beaten track it did not take too long to get to local towns. There’s fresh eggs close by and Llaethdy Llwyn Banc Dairy to get ice cream fresh (from the farm) milk vending and milkshakes close by. Would have been nice to have had the ability to get catchup tv (one of our party stayed home a couple of days and likes Netflix) and we didn’t think to take our firestick with us. Would definitely recommend. Not too far from Chester Zoo either.

Ros was so lovely and she truly has thought of everything to make it a comfortable stay, Neddy the pony was adorable as was Joey the dog! They enjoyed carrots and dog biscuits through the week, we miss them already! We will be booking for next year we enjoyed it so much....thanks Ros

It was also spotless and had everything you needed. A very happy and comfortable stay. I would highly recommend this property to anyone!

"A beautiful property with such a lovely welcome tray and amazing smell as you enter!"
! So clean and tidy and well thought out with everything you need. The beds are on the firmer side which didn’t suit everyone but apart from that-stunning! A pony in the garden that’s more than happy to share your apples and carrots and a lovely stroll up the lane to see more horses and a river. A great meal at the Drovers Arms five mins drive away-book on a Friday night!!

"A very nice house very clean and very quite Idle to help you unwind lots of wonderful places to go what more can we say"
-

Beautiful welcome pack, thoughtful caring owner and a beautiful comfortable well thought out cottage with absolutely everything you need. Ned and his little woofer friend were adorable and so pleased to see us every day! Definitely recommend for any occasion from a romantic weekend to a fun filled family holiday.

"What a lovely property so clean and well equipped."
A wonderful welcome tray and lots of little touches like a hair dryer in each room boxes of tissues on the bedside tables. With neddy the shetland just outside saying hello to us every day a real character. Decent internet and good quality comfortable furniture I would highly recommend and stay here. It was in the countryside down a few lanes but also close to a town with supermarkets and chip shops etc.
-
"A beautiful home, surrounded by beautiful countryside, so peaceful & restful."
Everything we could possibly need with the added bonus of a gorgeous pony in adjoining field. The host Ros, couldn’t have been lovelier. Will definitely be back!

"Hendre was one of the best properties we have ever stopped in, it was fully equipped so had everything we needed."
On our arrival there was a lovely welcome pack, cakes, chocolate, tea, coffee, milk and wine. We met Neddy the Shetland pony who is in a small field outside the property and Joey the owners dog who was also very friendly. Thank you to the owner Ros, we will definitely be coming back again .

"Thank you for a very warm welcome and for the unexpected treats a lovely touch."
The house was very well presented very clean ,warm, cozy and extremely well equipped. Centrally located for pretty local towns and walks. Loved meeting Ned too a charismatic Shetland pony who seems to love everyone especially those who have a carrot in their pocket.

"The cottage was beautifully furnished and spotless inside."
It is in a quiet location with fantastic views from the upstairs bedroom window and within easy reach of many locations. We have a lovely 2 weeks stay there and really enjoyed ourselves.
-
"Fabulous cottage in the Welsh countryside."
Gorgeous views and scenery, walks and cycle rides from the door. The cottage is very well equipped and was warm and welcoming. We were met with a delicious tray of treats and milk in the fridge. There was lots of places to visit and activities to suit everyone close by.
-
"Cottage was even better than in the photos."
Bit difficult to find, but owner was easy to contact on arrival day and she drove to meet us. Great welcome pack. Very well equipped cottage. Superb views from upstairs main bedroom. Lovely walks in area e.g. around Moel Famau and Llangollen. Also, good base for visiting northern coast and National Trust's Erddig and Chirk Castle. Would definitely recommend the cottage and would not hesitate to stay there again.
-
"Hendre is a lovely property with all the equipment you would need in a "real home"."
It is beautifully furnished and there is plenty of room. It was spotlessly clean. The surrounding area is amazing too. The only down side was that the views from the garden were not as advertised.
-
"The cottage owners kindly provided a basket of masks, wipes and other anti-bac sprays, etc."
This is something it would be good to see provided at all cottages at the moment as it gives guests confidence in going self-catering.
-
"The cottage was great, very well equipped."
Home from Home. It's great for walkers.
-
"We absolutely loved the cottage, it had everything we could possibly need and more, we will definitely come back again."
-
"Our stay at Hendre was peaceful and relaxing."
The owner met us and as soon as she realised I was traveling with my elderly mother she got a shower chair for the wet room, which my mother greatly appreciated. There was a welcome tray with goodies and the house facilities were excellent. I would be very happy to stay there again.
-
"Hendre is an immaculate holiday cottage 5 minutes drive from Ruthin."
The owner (Ros) provided a lovely welcome tray with flowers and cakes, milk in the fridge and a bottle of wine! She lives across from the cottage so is there if you need her but otherwise leaves you to enjoy your holiday which is ideal. Plenty of towels and a washing machine and dryer - we honestly wanted for nothing - everything you need is provided The pony in the adjoining field must be the most photographed horse in Wales - our granddaughter was taking selfies with him! There is a pub/restaurant - The Drovers Arms a very short drive away which I recommend.
-
"Fabulous facilities and always a pleasure to stay in this home from home cottage."
We'll be back again.
-
"Wow, what an amazing place!"
Photos don't do it justice. We've stayed in many holiday homes and this was by far the best. Spotless, cosy, extremely well equipped. The cottage is like a tardis, so spacious and all the furniture, bedding etc was very high quality. The bathrooms are beautiful, like a high end hotel. We stayed with our two sons who loves feeding the pony. Although in a very rural location it's only a few minutes to wonderful local pubs and shops in Ruthin. Already booked again for next year. Perfect.

-
"Magnificent cottage, superbly equipped."
Beautiful tray of welcoming drinks and biscuits, together with a vase of fresh flowers. Owner most welcoming and came to check at end of first week, very helpful but not intrusive in any way, eager to ensure that we would enjoy our stay. We would very much like to return at some time.
-
"A really good experience and a very warm welcome."
Owners were most helpful and even managed to rig up a ramp for the wheelchair user in our party. The cottage was very suitable for wheelchair use on the ground floor and we were able to hire a hoist locally. The accommodation was equipped to a very high standard and having a log burner was the icing on the cake. We had a lovely Shetland pony in the cottage grounds and the owners dogs were friendly and well behaved. The owners went above and beyond what is required providing us with a welcome tray, home bakes and fresh fruit. Ros also popped round with extra logs and a bottle of wine when the weather turned colder and asked were we okay. What a star.
-
"Possibly best cottage we have stayed at."
Clean, well equipped and great location for the surrounding hill walks and attractions. Ruthin centre in 10 min drive, Denbigh in 15 min drive and coast only 16 miles away. Plenty of places to eat within 5 miles.
