"Beautiful accommodation, in a wonderful location!"
Close enough to town/shops and Snowdonia. It also felt private and so incredibly peaceful. A beautiful warm, cosy converted cow shed, I’d highly recommend the place. When we had an issue with the plumbing the owners got it sorted within a few hours. Brilliant thank very much for everything!

"Lovely place would defiantly stay there again"

"The cottage is everything you could ask for it's so cosy and well equipped and clean, the location is stunning and so peaceful, this was our first visit to hen beudy but it won't be our last!"
We enjoyed lots of walking especially along the beach and so did the dog! A good place to recharge the batteries and I would highly recommend it.

"Great location - we liked being away from others"

"We had a lovely week at Hen Beudy cottage."
The accommodation had everything you'd need for your stay. It was also the ideal central location for the events / places we'd planed to visit. Supermarkets just a short drive into Porthmadog to stock up for the week. The narrow lane in from the main road can be tight at times if passing oncoming traffic but thankfully, it wasn't too busy. Only wish we'd planed to stay for two weeks instead of one. Would highly recommend a holiday at this cottage if planning a trip. Looking forward to our next stay. Mike, Julie & Tia (the dog).

"Had a wonderful week and Hen Beudy was a lovely base for exploring NW Wales."
Great walks from the doorstep, including (20 mins) to the vast expanse of Black Rock Sands (you can even drive along the beach and pitch camp right by the waters edge). So much to see and do, will have to come again for all the things we missed out. The only very minor thing lacking with the property, a bit more kitchen cupboard space for groceries would have been useful. Diolch

"Beautiful cottage, secluded location, everything we needed for a relaxing holiday."
Close to an amazing beach, Black Rock Sands. Cannot recommend this cottage highly enough - just perfect!
-
"Fabulous cottage, our second visit and probably not our last."
Perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life offering perfect tranquility. We love the cottage and the area. Great spot for exploring North Wales. Thank you.

"Lovely little cottage away from the hustle and bustle."
Definitely will be staying again. So peaceful and beautiful morning sunrise over the mountain.

"Another wonderful stay at this lovely cottage."
Having scoured the internet for a cottage on the peninsula, I couldn’t find anything to match it - hence the revisit. It’s the perfect balance of remote and accessible: it feels like it is in the wilds but other property near enough that it doesn’t feel isolated and I was happy to stay there travelling solo. There are walks from the door step ( to Criceath and Borth-y-Gest) but it’s also easy to get to all points on the peninsula and up into Snowdonia - favourite spots this time were Mynydd Mayr ( at the far tip of the peninsula) and Nant Gwrtheyrn ( on the north coast) - both great spots for walking. The cottage is very very peaceful, the decoration lovely and the bed was fine, although firmer than my one at home ( and the bath is great!). The track down is bumpy with some puddles but not flooded despite all the rain- just take it slowly. The bottom coast road from black rock sands through to Morfa Bychan and Porthmadog is flooded and doesn’t look like it will open any time soon, but you’re fine if you follow the instructions on how to get to the cottage ( just ignore the road closed sign where you turn off by the railway bridge). Had a brilliant time. Thank you for such a lovely restful stay in my “happy place”!! Hope to be back!

"We had a very enjoyable week staying in this beautiful cottage!"
It was everything we hoped for and more, the location is remote enough that you feel closer to nature but not so remote you are completely cut off. We only used our car twice during the week as there are a lot of lovely and long walks on the doorstep. We spoke to the owner on the second day as he was passing by, and I was delighted to learn that he had done most of the artwork in the cottage. Just a small heads up for people with small ramshackled cars like ours, the drive up to the cottage is rather bumpy and pot holey so take it slow. Also we struggled to find the wifi code, it is within the wifi box and bin bags are under the sink. But I cannot stress how much we enjoyed our very comfortable stay here! We would most certainly love to visit again!

"The property was beautiful, great location close to the beach and all amenities, while still having absolute peace and quiet with amazing views of the green hillsides and sea."
The property was cleaned to an immaculate standard other than a few cob webs on the ceilings and was well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The bed was unfortunately quite hard and uncomfortable which became increasingly inconvenient during our stay, and we also had an issue with the boiler as the hot water would only last a few minutes and then needed over an hour to get hot again, however one of the neighbors were instructed by the landlord to assist and they were able to quickly resolve the issue.
Dear Victoria, Thank you so much for your feedback and staying with us at Hen Beudy. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused by the boiler and thank you for bringing this to our attention and kind patience on the matter. Following your feedback we have bought a feather mattress topper and pillows from the white company, with new bedding we do hope that the comfort may be improved. Thank you again and we do hope that you enjoyed your stay. With many thanks, Lucy Property Owner

"The cottage and surroundings are idealic and absolutely stunning!"
You do however have a problem with blue bottles, which I believe to be cluster flies in the window seels. Maybe also provide some extra mats for dirty feet! Also a problem with the hot water, which doesn't even fill half a bath and needs boosting constantly You could also do with pasta bowls and bigger glasses in the kitchen Please do not take this as a negative The cottage is stunning and I would highly recommend to family and friends! Just trying to give positive criticism in hope that it helps you see from a guests point of view!

"Wonderful cottage & very well equipped would have no hesitation in booking again thank you"
Dear Neil, Thank you so much for your kind review and staying with us at Hen Beudy. Please do come again! We have since also made some improvements with new feather pillows, a deep mattress topper, pasta bowls and cabin hooks to secure the external doors when open. Thank you again, Lucy Property Owner

"Beautiful & modern dwelling - peaceful surroundings."
A wonderful retreat to get away & to recharge your batteries.

"With dogs travelling with me, I’d suggest NOT cutting the grass without a grass box just before we arrive."
It all came in the house. Please sort the dreadful noise that the outside kitchen door makes! The three outside doors all need a ‘pinning back’ facility .. they are ‘heavy’ doors and just blow inwards if left open … guests are using rocks to wedge them open and I would suggest this will damage the door surround. Downstairs was very chic … the bedroom, less so. Lack of colour, style and coordination in my humble opinion. Overall I was delighted with the accommodation however. I put the hoover out of sight … I don’t particularly want to look at a hoover on the wall for a whole week thank you. Nigel.
Dear Nigel, Thank you for your feedback and staying at Hen Beudy. We have now installed cabin hooks to the external doors, and fed back to our housekeeper to take care to cut the grass when dry and collect the cuttings. We are sorry for any inconvenience here. We were delighted to hear you loved the downstairs. The artwork is all by my father and have passed this on. Your feedback is invaluable to us improving the cottage and so thank you again. Thank you, Lucy Property Owner

"We absolutely loved staying at Hen Beudy."
It was spotless and well furnished and a comfortable bed. Amazing being surrounded by fields of sheep. The only thing missing maybe was a bin in the kitchen?
-
"This was a beautiful cottage in an incredible location, the housekeepers and owner couldn’t do enough for us."
Probably the best cottage we have stayed in over the years
-
"This is such a lovely cottage perfect for a getaway from it all."
The cottage was lovely and clean and really well kitted out can't think of anything I would say was missing. It was absolutely beautifully decorated and furnished. Bathroom was lovely and bed very comfortable. Highlight was the entertaining sheep in the surrounding field which were a constant source of entertainment in the evening when we were sat in the garden. Only thing I would highlight us the unmade road up to the cottage which us mention in the description, it really is a track more than a road which wasn't an issue for us but worth being aware of, the cottage is worth the trip. We will definitely be returning.

"A lovely, comfortable cottage, in a stunning location."
Sunrises and sunsets are just amazing! We so enjoyed the peace and quiet of the location. The cottage was well equipped and had everything that we needed for a wonderful stay. Great to be able to walk just 10 minutes to the stunning Black Rock beach, a real bonus in a spectacular location of Snowdonia.
-
"Beautiful calm place."
Had a wonderfully relaxing holiday. Just what we needed. The only thing I have to say is that we thought that the mattress was too firm for our liking, but that's a matter of preference. Just being honest. Apart from that, if you want a quiet relaxing holiday, then look no further. Overall. Fantastic.

"Lovely holiday break 7 days from 3/03/2023, peaceful with beautiful surroundings and views."
Dylan our Labrador loved the break with Black Rock sands a 5 minute drive away, a beautiful clean beach. Porthmadog is a thriving town very dog friendly place many eating places to choose from. The property has all the modern equipment you need to support your stay. Recommend a stay

"Absolutely lovely break looking forward to our next stay"

"Great cottage in a beautiful location."
all we needed.

"A beautiful little cottage to be able to pause life for a little while ."
The hosts were very helpful and the cottage had everything needed for an enjoyable stay . The only thing I’d change is I’d take my own pillows next time but that’s just personal choice ! A fabulous holiday which for me personally turned a horrible anniversary into a nice one . Would recommend Hen Beudy and will most definitely return at some point , thank you Michael and team for an enjoyable stay
-
"This was our second time staying here which is testament itself to how much we love it."
Lovely property in a great location. Has everything you need for a week stay and is like a home away from home. Only a short walk to the beach and lots of beautiful walks only a short drive away. Will definitely be staying again if you will have us.
-
"Fabulous cottage in a glorious setting."
Surrounded by nature yet only a few minutes to the beautiful Black Rock beach. The accommodation is first class and very tasteful. Ideal for dogs with plenty of space for them to run around. Will definitely pay a return visit.
-
"Our stay at Hen Beudy was fantastic!"
We had an incredible time, enjoying plenty of walks which were on the doorstep. The cottage itself was comfortable and homely with all you could need. We Will definitely be returning for another stay and look forward to returning to North Wales!
-
"The cottage is very comfortable and set in a wonderfully tranquil location amidst stunning countryside."
It's the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of day to day life, and a great base to explore the local coastline and hills. I would recommend this holiday cottage to anyone that loves the Welsh landscape.
-
"We found the cottage to be very warm and inviting."
It was very clean, beautifully presented and comfortable. It was also very therapeutic just to be able to look out to the hills and fields where the sheep and cattle were grazing. The kitchen was well equipped with all the necessary items. The only small negative, there isn’t a kitchen cupboard to store your own food. An absolutely idyllic place to stay! Thankyou for a wonderful week.
-
"We enjoyed our stay at Hen Beudy and enjoyed the peace and tranquillity surrounding the cottage."
The cottage was finished to a high standard, and all the appliances and fittings were to the same high standard.
-
"Enjoyed the holiday and the accommodation & setting is fantastic."
-
"We had a most enjoyable stay."
Hen Beudy was comfortable and clean and everything one could possibly want was provided. It is beautifully decorated in the Norwegian style. If you want a get away from it all holiday I would thoroughly recommend it.
-
"Without a shadow of doubt Hen Beudy is perfect in every way from the cleanliness down to it's decor."
It has been furnished with impeccable taste leaving us to say it was almost like home from home. The owners should be proud of what is a beautiful house in a wonderful location and we would like to thank them very much. As a company Menai Holidays have kept us informed from the start of our booking to the end, a very personable approach, thank you. Looking forward to rebooking Hen Beudy in the future. Kind regards Maria and Andy

"Hen Beudy is a fabulous cottage, beautifully presented and in a wonderful location."
We had a peaceful and relaxing stay.
-
"The direction are not good."
They really need changing. For someone that doesn’t know the area they are so confusing. Why Joe have direction from the postcode that’s on the listing? That would work so much better. Instead you have directions from a bloody roundabout
Thanks for your feedback. We’re so sorry to hear you struggled with the directions. We will review so it’s clearer for future guests. Property Owner

"An outstanding cottage in a superb location which may be a little isolated for some."
Cleanliness, facilities etc were superb. Only thing lacking was WiFi which wasn't a problem for us. Highly recommend this cottage
-
"We had a wonderful couple of days at the cottage at Hen Beudy."
The location is wonderful, very peaceful and yet only a 10-15 minute leisurely walk down to the local beach at Black Rock Sands. We met the owner on our arrival (he was cutting the lawn at the rear of the cottage) and he was very polite and helpful in terms of giving us advice of things to see and do, and a little background on the cottage. The cottage itself is absolutely wonderful (inside and out). The attention to detail inside is fantastic and the views from the cottage and outside are both wonderful. We enjoyed spending time in the evening outside watching the sheep and lambs and listening to nature. We would love to return again shortly to this wonderful cottage and location. Thank you again to the owner for the warm welcome and the opportunity to stay at Hen Beudy. Matt & Caroline

"Lovely property, nice and clean and in a great location."
Had everything you need for a week stay although could have done with a drying rack for after you've washed the pots. Will definitely be coming back if you'll have us!! Thanks very much for a lovely stay

"This property is a little gem."
If it's solitude you want, it's ideal. Complete privacy and peaceful, you hear the lambs in the neighbouring fields that surround the cottage, and that's about it. The cottage is warm and cosy and good amenities. Plenty of parking for your car. No wi-fi as yet, but good signal anyway if you needed to use the internet. If you wanted the beach, just a 15 minute walk along the footpath. The mountains are almost in your backyard. And look out for Harry hare who loves to nip in the garden to say hello. Fantastic.

"Fantastic stay in a lovely cottage that was really comfortable, it’s a really good conversion and in a great setting."
It stands on its own but didn’t feel too remote even though I was staying on my own. It’s an easy walk to the beach or Cricceath and Porthmadog is a short drive (although the beach at Borth y Gest is much more picturesque. Garden at the cottage is a work in progress but there’s a really nice area for sitting out ( and plenty of entertainment from the surrounding sheep and their lambs, who obviously haven’t quite got the hang of tourists, judging by the optimistic stampede towards the house whenever I appeared! ). Love to come back sometime!
Thanks so much for the feedback. Great to hear you had a good time. Property Owner
