Although it is old it is spotlessly clean and everything is perfectly functional. We loved the large Sun house and cooking in the traditional Aga ovens.

The property
Bryn Cynan Fawr Farmhouse is a large four-bedroom farmhouse located near Pontllyfni, Caernarfon, Gwynedd. Boasting its own private grounds and ample space to accommodate multiple guests, it's perfect for families and groups of friends seeking peace and tranquillity. Step inside to find a library and an extensive collection of books for you to choose from and sit by the electric log burner to read. There's also a separate snug with an Inglenook fireplace. The property has a large spacious kitchen with an electric Aga and a large conservatory with ample seating. There is a large utility/boot room with WC, hand basin and a washing machine. The property sleeps two to eight in four spacious bedrooms; two king size and two twins. It's suitable for families travelling with children and has child-friendly amenities such as a highchair, travel cot and stairgate. Upstairs there is a large family bathroom with extra-large bath and a walk-in shower with heated towel rail. The Farmhouse is set within a large mature private garden with a separate Summer House, a furnished patio and fire bowl with a log starter pack. For those seeking a quiet relaxing holiday in a beautiful location surrounded by open countryside, beautiful views, peace, tranquillity, bird song and nearby beach this is your ideal location. In the wider landscape the property is surrounded by farmland, blocks of woodland, wide expanded hedgerows and shelter belts, the Farmhouse is set within a holding consisting of farmland, several historic stone-built farm buildings including stables, barns, mill, traditional outbuildings, groom/maid quarters and house dating back to the 16th/17th Century and appearing in the Tythe Maps. Historically the farm dates back thousands of years, with an Iron Age Settlement Hill Top Fort, which was historically excavated and a hoard of Roman Coins found nearby (not accessible due to livestock). The recently excavated Hill Top Fort at Dinas Dinlle is accessible on foot. Bryn Cynan Farmhouse is located between Caernarfon and Pwllheli, Caernarfon being a short drive away with amenities like local shops and eateries. The property is located in the coastal belt, set against a backdrop of the mountains of Snowdonia with views of the sea. Numerous country walks and country lanes are in the immediate vicinity, the most notable of which is the Pont-y-Cim Pack Horse Bridge, year 1612, which is noted for being the narrowest bridge open to traffic. The location has it all, countryside, mountains, lakes, sea, and beaches. Historic Caernarfon is the nearest town, it is located on the edge of the beautiful Snowdonia National Park with a good selection of shops, cafes, pubs, Inns, restaurants, Marina and Castle. The nearest supermarket / convenience store is 2.5 miles away, country pub 2.1 miles and beach 0.8 miles.
Plas Dinas Country House is also nearby, which is home to some great history as well as The Gun Room restaurant. The beaches on Anglesey and the Llyn Peninsula can be reached in about half an hour, while the beach at Dinas Dinlle is just a 10-minute drive away.
Nearby, Caernarfon is home to Caernarfon Castle, which is well worth a visit, with further shops and cafes available, as well as steam train trips. Portmeirion is also a short distance away, featured in the TV series ‘The Prisoner’. Just 8 miles away is the Welsh Heritage centre which has a licensed cafe at Nant Gwrtheyrn with magnificent sea views from it's decked dining area. Beddgelert is a very attractive village, surrounded by the beautiful Snowdonia National Park, with a fabulous arts and craft shop, and several pubs. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
