  • "Perfect accommodation for 3 adults and 1 small dog."

The cottage had everything we needed, and more, to make our stay very comfortable.

  • "Lovely and peaceful, the kitchen was well equipped, the wifi was brilliant, unfortunately, the rest of the cottage fell well short of the £200 a night price tag."

The thermostat didn't work, the shower was cold, there were no towels (I had to use the dog towel after a cold shower), I couldn't unlock the door from the inside, 3 in 1 coffee sachets from the pound shop are not acceptable in this price bracket and whilst I appreciate that the cottage is trying to be traditional it needs modernising. I usually prefer to state the positives, but as mentioned above, the facilities of this cottage do not sit in line with the price and what others in the same price bracket offer.

Thank you for providing feedback following your recent stay at the cottage and we are glad that you enjoyed the lovely peaceful setting. We note your comments and have taken action to ensure that instructions for the boiler are available for guests and have remedied other points raised to ensure the facilities are in line with guest expectations. The cottage, although in the country side outside bangor, has no good walks nearby, is far from facilities and offers nothing special

Thank you for your feedback following your visit to the cottage; we provide guest information at the property to highlight local attractions and places of interest to walk and visit within this area of outstanding natural beauty. Property Owner

  • "Lovely clean peaceful cottage."

Saw other reviews saying there wider issues with hot water. Never had any issues with that, and there were 4 of us showering each morning. The cooker can take a while to warm up but fine once it does. The fan in the bathroom seems to stay on a long time - something for anyone in the downstairs bedroom to be aware of.

  • "Loved the cottage and the location."

We had everything we needed and it was a great base for trips out. The kitchen diner was a lovely space which opened outside through a stable door. Comfy and cosy and watched a few of the DVDs provided. Great shower - really powerful. Would not hesitate to recommend as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only things I would improve at a push would be 100% cotton bedding (mine was a bit scratchy) and a working coffee machine,

  • "We loved the place, but there heating didn't work, and neither did the hot water."

It would've been a huge problem if we hadn't stayed there in August. If this problem got solved, the house would be perfect.

  • "Just a few issues."

Not enough towels. No bins for houshold rubbish so no recycling and rubbish left outside in black bin bags.On the plus side the kitchen was amazing although it was down some steep slate steps.

  • "Lovely cottage."

Some tlc required. Key for back door only works on inside. Bathroom handle needs repairing. Not told about builders who were there for 3 days, working on next doors porch, working from our garden. Apart from that, it was a beautiful cottage just far away from Bangor without being too far. Picked up a lot of cat poo as well as our dogs!!!!!!! Will come back there again when we are ready to come back to North Wales.

  • "Tea towels and scourer/sponge for washing dishes would be appreciated."

Also perhaps an extra roll or two of toilet paper for stays of longer than one or two days. Otherwise, the house is very comfortable and cosy. Ideally situated in small village in farmland on the very edge of Bangor within easy distance of pubs, restaurants, supermarkets, etc.

  • "Second time we have stayed here."

Ideal location for surrounding area and very comfortable Good WIFI, shower and central heating with own parking (Please note no hot water or heating on arrival as boiler turned off but this was easily sorted) Also Parking spot got very muddy in rain (and uneven) Maybe this could be looked at.

  • "This is a nice cottage, with character, own parking and very well located."

It will easily accommodate 4 adults and 2 children. The kitchen is very well equipped and the facilities are generally good, just a bit dated, but fair for the price charged. The neighbourhood is quiet and the cottage is a great base for visiting the wonderful surroundings. The only objection we have is the cleanliness of the property: it simply needs a deep clean. The corners in the bathroom and kitchen had old dust, the carpets will certainly benefit from a good wet clean. The owner may want to check with their servicing company and hope this will be sorted. Another thing that was a problem when we arrived was a strong smell of gasoline in the lobby and the kitchen; it took us a while to figure it out: it was an open box of bbq firelighters which was left in the cupboard above the kitchen stairs, which we packed tightly in a plastic bag to avoid the smell escaping, but may BBQ fuel should not be stored in the cottage at all. I wonder why the servicing staff did not investigate the smell/ remove the the firelighters box as they were leaving the property as we arrived. Also, there was a black rubbish back near the gate in the back, I assume it was from the previous guests, but I would have hoped the service staff to remove it. We would return to this cottage, because we liked it. I just hope my comments can make future guests' stay more pleasant.

  • "The house is in need of some TLC."

No recycling facilities available & the bin was full from previous visitors. Lovely quiet area & good for exploring local attractions. Such a shame that the cleanliness of the house wasnt what I expected.

  • "A very well equipped cottage in a convenient location."

Easy to walk into Bangor or drive further afield. Parking is easy. Might need to address the rubbish collection. The blue recycling bins are missing. The normal rubbish collection is every 3 weeks and the bin was full when we left and not due for collection until next Wednesday. The vacuum cleaner didn't work. We left a note about it. However it was a very pleasant stay. We are booked with Sykes again the the Autumn.

  • "The house is in a great location very quiet with sheep in the field around it and having parking on the front was great as the road outside is quite narrow, all the big shops, supermarkets and restaurants of Bangor not far away."

Great base for seeing the sites of North Wales. The house is nice there was one issue that needs some attention the bottom step of the stairs is not a full step it is cut at a angle and myself and my son both went to step on the missing part and hurt our self’s as not expecting such a drop. This needs to be a made a full step. The carpet in the downstairs hallway has a massive stain on it covered by a mat, if this was replaced and better quality carpet was fitted would make the downstairs area so much nicer.

  • "The cottage itself was very comfortable and homely and we thoroughly enjoyed staying there."

The general decor and the state of some of the carpets was a little shabby and I would have thought that during the lockdowns the owners could have arranged for the carpets to be cleaned and a kick of paint in some of the rooms. I certainly wouldn't pay the prices they are asking for the summer holidays.
