  • "Rang sykes to enquire if there was a freezer in the kitchen as we were celebrating two birthday s ,told just an under counter fridge."

There was a freezer in the garage which was great ,being 7 of us Freezer should be listed on the information when booking. .Water went cold, rang agents and it was dealt with very quickly.

Thank you for your review. As you quite rightly say, there is an under counter size freezer in the garage with an additional fridge too. We are sorry to hear you received incorrect information and will make sure this will be rectified on the website. We are very happy to hear the hot water was dealt with so quickly with minimum inconvenience. Thanks again. Property Owner

. there were 4 generations of our family on this 4 day break and it ticked every box for all .. the communal space was the perfect space for us to spend our feet up time together .. the sofa was so comfortable and the added bonus of blankets made it really cosy .. sadly the weather wasn’t on our side so eating outside ( fabulous space ) or coffee /drinks on the balcony weren’t an option The house was immaculately clean and everything had been thought of for our stay We have been coming to Abersoch for 55 years and always had our own caravan this was the first time we have stayed in accommodation there The location is perfect Great house great location .. fingers crossed better weather next time The Smiths

  • "Great communication before we travelled - nothing was too much trouble, even down to checking what coffee machine the house had!"

The property is beautifully decorated and clean, this was an initially a concern to me as so many holiday lets aren’t - but this was spotless. It also had comfy beds & nice bedding. The ability to book a 3 night stay was a huge benefit to us too as many properties want a 5 or 7 night minimum stay in school holidays which doesn’t work for us anymore with older children. It was also well priced for a 3 night stay. We will definitely book again. Thankyou

  • "A lovely and attractive property."

Crockery, cutlery and equipment was very well provided although I was disappointed with the condition of the non stick frying pans and baking dishes. I suspect that they had been previously ill treated but I was put off from using them. I couldn’t find a potato peeler! There is no heating on the upper floor but although the weather was cold and wet we were never cold. However, it was not easy to dry towels as there is no heated towel rail. We made a makeshift rack in the airing cupboard using the loose rails that were there! The bed on the top floor was a bit strange as it had two mattresses which kept sliding. We also found the 15 Tog quilt very warm. I think people need to be aware that the ceiling in this room slopes rather a lot on one side of the bed. I am only 5ft 1 inch tall but had to bend over almost double to get into bed or get clothing from the bedside drawers and this problem was exacerbated by the thickness of the mattress. We think an extractor in the bathroom on the upper floor would be really good. Freeing up a cupboard in the kitchen for dry food would be a good idea. Perhaps glasses could be stored in the bookcase/cupboard in the dining area. The fire extinguisher and blanket should really be fixed to the wall for easy access in the event of a fire. Despite my comments above, we did enjoy our stay at the property and would definitely consider staying again when visiting relatives. It is conveniently situated for walking into Abersoch. Unfortunately the weather was not on our side to do that.

  • "Extra shower over bath would be useful Ridiculously bizarre numbering system on the estate!"

Please put house number on outside of house. Stress need for own towels. Kitchen floor was not soundproofed so downstairs bedroom was noisy Light switch in shower room was in a bad spot. Lots of good facilities and very clean. Thank you

Hello, thank you for kindly leaving us a review. We agree with you, it would indeed be useful to have an additional shower over the bath in the upstairs bathroom. As the summer season is now over, we will be in a better position to look into having one installed. Yes, you are absolutely right! The house numbers on Cae Du can be so confusing and we do have a number displayed clearly on the front of the house, unfortunately, the week before your arrival date we had a beautiful new balcony fitted and the number had been taken down for the works to take place. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this has caused you. We shall certainly reinstall the number for the benefit of future guests. We do hope you enjoyed the new balcony and were able to enjoy some late summer sunshine on there. It does state quite clearly on the website that although all bed linens are included, towels are not, please accept our apologies if you didn’t notice that. We are so very pleased to hear you found our property to be very clean and full of good facilities - we aim to give our guests the best possible holiday we can in Bywyd Da. Thank you again for your kind review and we would love to welcome you back anytime. will Property Owner

  • "A cottage sleeping 8 should have 8 comfy seats in lounge."

Also a second shower would be better. Very well stocked kitchen

***** UPDATE Another shower has been installed in the upstairs bathroom. Thank you so much for your feedback, it’s always so welcome from our guests. There are in fact 14 seats in the lounge area in total, we are so sorry you found them inadequate. We agree with you that a second shower would be useful in the upstairs bathroom, it would be a welcome addition to the bath, that some guests prefer. We are currently looking into having one installed. We are happy to hear you were pleased with the kitchen equipment, we have tried so hard to stock it well for the comfort of our guests. Thank you again for your comments and we would love to welcome you back to our lovely home any time. Property Owner

  • "The heating and hot water was not on when we arrived."

Apparently the cleaners should have ensures it was ready. It took a couple of hours to get it going after phone calls between us, Sykes and the owner. There was no info pack at the house which would have helped. The shower was very small and didn’t frown very well. The garage light did not work. The house was lovely- styled very well and easy access to the village.

Hello. Thank you for your review. Please accept our sincere apologies for the heating and hot water issues you encountered upon your arrival and we were so happy we were able to rectify it within a couple of hours for you. We agree about the info pack, we were not aware there wasn’t one available, but one will be accessible to our guests in the future. Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention. The light bulb going out in the garage was unfortunate but has been replaced. Thank you again for letting us know about it. We are so pleased to hear you loved the style of our house, it was chosen with a lot of love and care. We agree with you, the location is wonderful, within a short walking distance to the beautiful beach and wonderful village of Abersoch. • "Bywyd Da is simply stunning with every attention to detail that you could wish for."

The owners have thought of everything you may need on holiday. The location is perfect, a short walk down to the beach and the towns' amenities, its charming. Even if you don't fancy a wander to the beach, the back garden is a sun trap with excellent garden furniture, perfect for a chilled out afternoon and evening. All in all, a beautiful holiday home in a beautiful location. Our family has stayed here 3 times and will definitely be revisiting this year. 10/10

About the location

ABERSOCH

Pwllheli 6 miles.

The attractive harbour village of Abersoch is situated on the Llyn Peninsula in a region of Wales renowned for its outstanding scenery and varied walking. The village, situated between two glorious bays, is one of the most popular sailing venues in North Wales and important sailing regattas are held there throughout the summer months. Numerous shops cater for the tourist as well as pubs, restaurants and cafes. There are also opportunities for golfers as there is a course just outside the village and horse riding facilities are also available nearby. Watersports enthusiasts are also well catered for, particularly windsurfing, water skiing and dinghy sailing, not to mention renowned surfing at Port Neigwl (Hell’s Mouth). The long, sandy Abersoch Main Beach is probably the most popular beach in the area. There is a wonderful selection of beaches in the surrounding area of the Llyn Peninsula, including the beautiful and often quiet Porth Ceriad, with it's high cliffs, and sandy Porth Oer ("Whistling Sands"). Most of the coastline is owned by the National Trust and there are many remote bays, sandy beaches and cliffs, as well as wildlife havens like Bardsey Island to explore.
