  • "Lovely property in perfect location."

    I’m sure we’ll be back

  • "The actual cottage was great with amazing views."

However, we arrived to no running water (we managed to fill a jug from kitchen sink before the system was completely empty) thank goodness we didn’t drink this water. We spent from check in to late at night trying to contact Sykes to get this sorted. We were told it was a water leak in the area. It wasn’t, the stop tap was turned off in January and the stop tap is located in a locked garage (fingers crossed this property doesn’t have a water leak) We called Welsh Water out, who were very helpful, even gave us some bottled water to flush toilets etc. We are still waiting to hear back from the Sykes emergency contact, left a few messages on the answer phone and also replied to an email asking how they had dealt with the issue (we haven’t had any contact with them since reporting the issue) However, still no contact!

Many thanks for taking the time out to provide feedback. It is great to see you enjoyed the amazing views the property has to offer. Firstly, apologies for the experience you had as it is crucial guests create lasting memories whilst on holiday with no issues. We wanted to reassure you that the points around the emergency contact have been investigated and picked up and resolved internally. This will continue to be available for all guests when in situ. Secondly the matter around the water has been investigated thoroughly. The property did in fact have water and relevant parties have been informed to ensure the stopcock is turned on prior to arrival. We hope to welcome you back to Hilltop in the future Property Owner

  • "Good sized accommodation with beautiful views."

Plenty of games for both kids and adults. The one big letdown was the lack of information. At about 11pm on our penultimate day, all the lights in the main part of the house went out, along with most of the power to the appliances. Only some electric heaters continued working (odd!). We checked the fuse boxes and none of the MCB's were tripped. So, tried to contact the caretaker, but no details given. Tried to contact the owner, but again no details given. The contact for Menai Holidays is not available at weekends and the emergency contact we found and rang, just refered us to its own number! Clearly, no one had checked this. In the end we cleared up as best we could and left a note. A disappointing end to an otherwise enjoyable holiday.

Thank you for taking time to write some feedback following your stay at Hilltop. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay. Our dedicated team is available during the office hours of 9-5.30 Monday to Saturday, while also providing a comprehensive out-of-hours emergency service for guests and owner who may need assistance out of these hours. We are currently tracing any calls made on the morning of your check-out to ensure our emergency coverage and communication methods are functioning correctly. I'm sorry that what appears to have been a powercut inconvenienced the last evening of your stay. Thank you for notifying us of these disappointing aspects of our service, we are currently investigating further. Best wishes, The Menai Team. Property Owner

  • "For a family of 7 adults and 2 dogs we had plenty of space to relax and enjoy our Christmas."

The views were stunning and surrounding area was fantastic. This house was a little gem and made our Christmas stay even more special.

  • "It's a wonderful location."

We didn't bother with the car all week, just walked the local area with our retriever. The cottage is comfortable, warm, spacious and light. Loved the table tennis, and the TV had every channel available. I would say it needs decluttering of outdated and irrelevant kitchen equipment, and every cupboard had toys in it. But we enjoyed it very much and would definitely return.

Great location and views. Absolutely everything we needed was provided plus an abundance of games to keep us entertained. Very comfy beds with really nice linen and soft fluffy towels.

  • "We had a lovely stay."

Perfectly located. Wonderful views. There were strong winds at times since it is on the hilltop. Weber charcoal grill in the backyard was great. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Kitchen is very functional with everything. We need it for big meals. we had a little trouble, figuring out how to turn on the hot water tank, which was off when we got there. There were some cobwebs and not very clean areas. We did a cleaning when we got there so not sure if the cleaning crew just missed some things but overall it was a really great stay and we would return for sure.
