Lovely spacious cottage comfy beds. Luckily weather was good. Nice walk from cottage to beach, abit muddy over fields. 5 minutes drive to the ship inn pub in Llanbedrog the meals where good.

  • "Pen Y Garth was a very spacious, comfortable and well equipped cottage to spend our holiday."

It was lovely to stay in such a well equipped and maintained property. It is well located to explore all of the Llyn Peninsula and the lovely seaside village of Abersoch with it's restaurants, cafes, shops and amazing beach is just a short drive away. The amazing art gallery, cafes and beach at Llanbedrog are even closer. The house is very spacious and the views of Abersoch Bay and Porth Neigwl from the house were amazing! We very much enjoyed our stay at Pen Y Garth and would recommend it for both families and more mature couples too.

  • "This was our 5th or 6th annual pilgrimage to Pen y Garth so that alone says something about the place."

The listing says sleeps 8 and it really does that very comfortably. All the bedrooms, two of which have their own shower/bathrooms, are of a good size and with the main lounge and separate garden room seating alongside the dining area, there's plenty of space to relax. The kitchen is modern and well equipped. Once again, we were blessed with great weather but it can get a bit breezy even on the best of days but that's maybe the price to pay for the fantastic views from the garden and especially the large master bedroom balcony. The dogs love the place too, with the large enclosed lawned garden there's plenty of space to run around or just chill after a hectic day on the beach. From previous recent reviews, there seems to have been some issues with the bins. The owner informed us this had been a waste contractor issue and has now been sorted and indeed the bins were emptied as expected. We can't recommend this place highly enough and will definitely be returning next year.

  • "A lovely functional and comfortable house with gorgeous views in which we very much enjoyed our stay and will almost certainly return."

The house has most things you could need for an enjoyable stay. We only had one issue which I believe has been mentioned by others in that there is not enough information regarding when the bins will be emptied. The main rubbish wheelie bin was already full upon our arrival and wasn't emptied by the council during our stay. We left the wheelie bins at the top of the drive for the duration of our holiday in the hope that they would be emptied. With this in mind, I hope the owner will talk to the local council for better information and we also apologize for leaving bags of rubbish in the porch when we left the property (to stop them from being attacked by gulls). Overall a great comfortable base with fab views! Thank you.

  • "The property was neatly presented and tidy with both the seating and the beds comfortable."

The kitchen was fitted with modern equipment and appliances including a T.V. which where also in all the rooms in the property which proved very useful. Whilst we do not have dog we did know that dogs were allowed, the drawback for ourselves was that the two dark coloured shaggy floor rugs where embedded with dog hairs and with a 1 year old crawling about we did find this off putting. Maybe the two rugs could be dispensed with as cleaning them of all dog hairs could prove very difficult. Regarding waste disposal, it was not made clear on which day(s) the refuse collectors called and which of the five bins they were to empty. we therefore left some of the bins at the top of the drive from Tuesday through to Friday evening eventually four of the five were picked up over two days while we were out.

The house was in a great location to explore the Welsh coast. The garden was great for the dog as it was fully enclosed. We couldn't ask for a better property for this break, we will be back to stay again in the future.

Clean We had an issue with the radiator coming off the wall and bins not collected. We contacted the owners. They were very approachable and very genuine and sorted the issue immediately. Minor issues. Some remote controls needed batteries replacing. And the hoover didn’t work properly but again not an issue as was resolved Great communication with owners

Beautiful surroundings both for the property and the area. All individuals we met were both welcoming and helpful. We would definitely recommend staying here. Only very small thing , no milk jug. That is really the smallest issue and we were thrilled that this was the only thing that we noticed that was worth sharing.

We loved the layout of the property but the mattress in the ground floor double bedroom was very uncomfortable causing sleep problems and back ache. The kitchen was well equipped but a tight squeeze when sitting all of us plus a high chair around the table - we kept the dining room table for jigsaws and childrens games, of which there was a good supply.. wi-fi was fine, The garden was safely enclosed but could use access to some portable seating to take down there. The location was great with 10 minutes drive to Pwhelli and Abersoch beach, and the views from the property are stunning. Overall we highly recommend the property.

  • "Property was really nice but shame about the heating we found it to be coming on around 4 in the morning when we needed it on in the evening it didn't seem to come on."

We had to buy lots of logs to light the fire to keep warm.

Sorry you had a problem with the heating With air source heating you have to try to keep the house at happy medium temperature not allowing it to get too cold or too hot as air source heating works at a far lower flow temperature about 40-45 degrees compared to gas heating that runs at about 75 degrees We have set the heating at 18 degrees during the day a and 20 degrees during the evening It can take several hours to reheat the house if the house temperature drops too far. Air source heating also works on the curve principle for the flow temperature The colder the temperature is outside the warmer the flow temperature is If it is colder than 10 degrees outside the flow temperature will be About 45 degrees and then get cooler to about 35 degrees the warmer it gets outside. The water heater is set to come on about 6 am if needed. There is a room stat in the living room to increase the room temp if required. This is the new try of heating we will all have to get used to It can Property Owner

  • "Excellent location, great family house."

One problem that needs to be solved is rubbish collection. When we arrived, the one one green bin was full and there were two crates of empty bottles. As instructed we put our own rubbish in black bin bags and left them for the weekly collection on Tuesday. We watched the private collectors empty the green bin and leave everything else! Hence our own correctly bagged stuff and the crates of bottles from the previous visitors will welcome the next guests. Perhaps it's a cheapskate contract that is limited to the one green bin.
