  • "This cottage is a real gem and a credit to Lis who was the perfect host."

Furnished with everything you could possibly need and with such a homely feel what more could you want. In the heart of Snowdonia National Park wonderful scenery wraps itself around you in an embrace of everchanging beauty. The quiet of the surroundings is wonderful but, you are also in touching distance if you do want more with all the beautiful seaside resorts to be had in the region. There is only one downstairs bathroom but this was a small price to pay. We found it had the right mix of authenticity and comfort that made for a lovely break.

  • "The accommodation was perfect for our needs."

It is a small three bedroom property with amazing views and a wonderful property manager (Miss Roberts) right next door. Miss Roberts went out of her way to recommend places to visit and restaurants to try and was a true joy to meet. I would highly recommend staying at this property if looking for a rural setting not too far from a host of sights to see.

  • "Just finishing our first holiday at Perthi and we’re very sad to be leaving."

Already booked a week for next Summer! Lis is a fantastic hostess and has really looked after us this week. A great Welsh welcome to start our break with home baked Bara Brith, Welsh cakes fresh out of the oven. Absolutely delicious, best we have tasted! Plus all we needed to make a lovely cup of tea to go with it! Lis is a great source of local knowledge which proved very useful from places to go out for the day as well as local walks.

The cottage itself is clean, very comfortable and well maintained. Lis puts a lot of hard work in to taking care of the place and it shows. Great attention to detail even down to asking the ages of our children and providing age/gender appropriate bed linen which they all loved. There are books and dvds for all ages as well as a selection of games for those rainy days. Wi-Fi was great with no issues. Kitchen well stocked for families.

Location is good for travelling round North Wales and Anglesey. Local beach Dinas is lovely for the family, convenient parking and facilities. Local town Penygroes is just down the road for local supermarket, takeaways etc.

Altogether if you’re looking for somewhere cosy, comfortable with the most breathtaking scenery you couldn’t make a better choice than Perthi. Diolch Lis, in the words of Arni “We will be back!” Xx♥️

  • "This was such a lovely little house to stay in."

Granted, with a family of five it might be considered a bit on the small side, but with a bit of furniture rearranging we managed just fine. The kitchen is superb, fully equipped, the views are amazing and the location is literally a stone's throw from the amazing Snowdonia area. But the real selling point of this house is its owner. We had such a warm welcome with a traditional home baked Welsh cake and a tin full of freshly baked cupcakes. Furthermore, she is helpful and eager to share her knowledge of the area. In short, this house is a perfect homebase to explore the amazing North Wales countryside.

It is next to a beautiful lake and is so quiet you can hear constant nature sounds. The cottage is clean, cared for and retains lots original features, I had everything I needed.I could park my car right outside the front door. Liz puts in a lot of effort to make your stay enjoyable and is a lovely lady she even left me cake on arrival. Michael. Sheffield.

  • "For a week in Spring we stayed with three adults at this very beautiful cottage."

Every day we overlooked the lake and mountains from the kitchen window and had a different spectacle, depending on the weather, varying from very crisp, golden and blue to dramatically windy and dark, all good. We felt cosy and at home from home, very much part of the Welsh experience, authentic because of how Lis presents the cottage and garden and the slate miners history. She had baked bara brith and welsh cakes for us plus left us milk and tea as a welcome! Also during the week the contact was pleasant and helpful, she gave us lots of lovely ideas where to go and what to see. We made mountain walks, visited the beach at Dinas Dinlle and had a great time in Caernarfon, Beddgelert, Rhosgadfan and Porthmadog, fantastic drives through the wild mountains, in the evenings the beauty of the village itself. We are interested in history and nature and did not have enough time to do and visit everything. There are also all kinds of crafts workshops to attend in the area. For the more practical things like a good supermarket or take away places the village Penygroes is nearby. The house itself is spacious and furnished as a proper home, very comfortable. The garden is fantastic. All in all restful and adventurous with a touch of magic. A great holiday, diolch (I had to put in one word of Welsh at least).

What a fantastic & beautiful location, with hills & mountains to the west & coastline to the east - short drive to access all, our week's weather was not kind so didn't get to do local walks, so many lambs at Easter time, cute! After our days out head home for a comfortable & cosy relaxing evening. We filled our week with - SUPS at Llyn Gwynant, National Slate Museum & High Ropes at Padarn Country Park, Drive to Nant Gwrtheyrn - stunning location & walk, with a lovely cafe, flapjack was amazing, visit to Caernarfon, Conwy castle and Fish & Chips in Llandudno, trip on the Ffestiniog railway - Portmadog to Beddgelert, finishing week off with Deep Mine Tour & Underground Golf at Penrhyn Quarries, Bethesda before heading home - well worth a visit - as a Unesco World Heritage Area, filled with history of the slate mining industry - lots to explore & see

The location of Nantlle is good for both the coastal resorts of Lleyn peninsular and the Snowdon range, so long as you have a car. It is a lovely quiet village with local walks and views but only a short drive from Pen y groes for provisions etc. The cottage is comfortable, with good beds, comfy lounge and a small kitchen with everything needed for self-catering. • "This was a lovely little cottage, and we chose it for its location, easy access to Snowdonia, Llyn, the coast, Anglesey, and the wonderful views, walks and swims from the cottage."

What we did find, is that for 4 adults (parents + 2 grown up children), we needed more space (we couldn’t eat together for example, without rearranging furniture), so it was a bit small for us. For a couple, or 3 people though, it’s big enough and ideally located. Owner was extremely welcoming and helpful.

The property

This character Victorian holiday cottage is like stepping back in time.

Nestled in the heart of the Nantlle Valley and a short drive from Snowdon, this delightful terraced cottage looks out onto an idyllic lake with views of the surrounding Snowdonia National Park. Being centrally located in a quiet village, this cottage is ideal for those wanting to explore either mountains or coast.

It is also a fantastic base for walkers, climbers or cyclists but likewise for visitors who want a peaceful break; there's a Trigonos yoga/mindfulness retreat close by! A number of incredibly scenic walking routes can be started right from your doorstep in this area of outstanding natural beauty.

From picturesque bike rides in the nearby forests to kayaking or canoeing on the lake.

The village is rural but still offers so much to see and do. The sleepy village of Nantlle is also a great place for those who just want to relax and escape from the bustle of everyday life.

There’s a very good chance that you won’t want to tear yourself away from the stunning mountain views which surround this dear cottage. The owner of the cottage lives just next door, and although you’ll be given complete privacy whilst on your holiday, previous guests of Perthi have enjoyed collecting fresh eggs from the chickens and feeding the sheep at owner’s small holding in the fields to the back of the cottages - a wonderful way for families, especially with younger children, to spend a day. Whether you are looking to hike along the popular Nantlle Ridge, explore nearby beaches and tourist attractions or simply relax in a peaceful location this cottage caters for all.

The popular village of Beddgelert is close by, as is the Welsh Highland Railway and there's even Pant Du Vineyard just down the road!

Formerly a quarryman's cottage, Perthi has been sympathetically renovated with both old and new and makes a comfortable and welcoming retreat in rural North Wales.
