  • "Fantastic property, exactly as described."

We had a great time especially in the pool. Communication and check in was super easy too. Only tiny nighle was a damaged loo seat but it didn’t affect our enjoyment

Thank you so much for your review we are really pleased that you enjoyed Solway so much! Thank you also for the information regarding the broken toilet seat - it’s now repaired Property Owner

  • "Lovely house."

Fantastic pool. Well equipped. For a family of 6 adults and 4 children it would have been good to have a second twin bedded room. The floor in the downstairs area was very slippy when damp, the children using the downstairs twin room and shower slipped several times moving from the shower to the bedroom.

  • "Solway is a lovely house in a great location for easy access to everywhere."

Plenty of parking and grounds to the rear are amazing. The pool is gorgeous. I would question the bedrooms being listed as 'king size'. The rooms are large but the beds are not...more doubles than kings and not the best for comfort. Everywhere was clean, but the food cupboards need to be cleared from what seemed as leftovers from previous guests. Suzanne was great.. replying immediately when contacted, and sending texts to remind us of certain things ...and always polite and friendly. I would recommend Solway as it's probably the best holiday home we have stayed at, and we've stayed at a few!

Hi Sandra Thank you so much for your review and I'm so pleased that you felt Solway was the best holiday home you have ever stayed at - its great to know that and that you all enjoyed your stay! With regards to the beds - the 4 King Size beds are definitely king size...if not then we've been undersold by various furniture shops lol :) I'll have a word with the cleaners in reference to items left in the cupboards. Once again many thanks for choosing to stay at Solway and I hope you do so again in the future :) Property Owner

  • "The house was beautiful, clean and well equipped."

The chocolates and bottle of wine were a lovely welcome. Suzanne was a great contact, and replied very speedily to my queries. We only had an issue with the pool being slightly too cold for our 2 year old grandson, but we are aware it was winter time, and any older children would have had great fun in there. The pool room itself was lovely and warm. We had lots to do round and about even in winter. Would highly recommend this house, I would imagine in summer it would be spectacular.

  • "We all had a brilliant stay at solway, 6Adults,3 children and the dogs, the swimming pool was a dream,Suzanne the owner was always at hand by text if we needed anything ."

She was very friendly , the only slight criticism was more seating is required in the main TV lounge as we did struggle for all of us to be seated at once, other than that a fantastic holiday for all, would definitely go back

  • "Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Solway so comfortable and spacious."

The pool is amazing. Huge fridge/freezer a real bonus. Spotlessly clean and beautiful decor. So close to Chester, Liverpool and Wirral. Can’t fault it- only constructive criticism is there was no dryer and hooks on the backs of doors in wet room and bathroom would be a big advantage. Overall Highly recommended. Thank you for sharing your lovely property and we hope to return.

  • "We had an absolutely wonderful week at Solway with family aged 11-75."

The property was superb with a massive garden to play football in and a the pool was absolutely superb for swimming, playing, relaxing and just chatting in. So nice to stay somewhere that has plenty of pots, pans and plates and glasses and Solway had them in abundance! It was lovely to just walk around the city walls and stroll by the river (5mins drive) to unwind and chill out. Suzanne couldn't have been more helpful and friendly and we'd stay there again in an instant!

About the location

CHESTER

Liverpool 17 miles; Manchester 36 miles.

Chester has quite rightly been described as 'the jewel of the North-West of England'. Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of the city is that within a very small area there is evidence of every period of history - from the old walls and amphitheatre of Roman times, through medieval churches, Elizabethan timber-framed townhouses and Georgian terraces, to Victorian restorations and 21st century architecture. The city has much to offer the tourist, including excellent shopping in and around the famous Tudor 'Rows' and lovely walks along the Roman Walls, beside the River Dee and through the picturesque Grosvenor Park. Explore Chester's beautiful medieval cathedral, visit Chester Racecourse or spend a day at the world renowned Chester Zoo. Further afield, the stunning Welsh mountains and coastline, the quaint market towns and villages of Cheshire and the Wirral Peninsula with its first class golf courses, are all within easy touring distance, whilst frequent rail services make Liverpool, Manchester and the North Wales coast readily accessible.
