Owner delightful to chat to and obviously loves the situation which made us very jealous. Animals add a different dimension, pigs make a charming alternative to our compost bins! Paul and Tracy were very friendly and helpful and the animals were great . It was fun feeding our veggie bits to the pigs. . The cottage was very comfortable and well maintained with everything you could possibly want . The email from Tracy was the best and most comprehensive ever received. Wonderful views from the front windows of the stiperstones and incredibly quiet . Also a lovely seating area outside both front and back doors . Watch your head on the front door it’s quite low (lots of warnings) so we used the back . Overall a really lovely week in a terrific cottage.

The welcome pack and bowl of fruit was very much appreciated. A very peaceful location with fabulous views of the Stiperstones and lots of walks from near the cottage. But best of all was the animals, Pigs Donkeys Goats and Dogs, we loved them all. A fabulous retreat!

However it was not private or peaceful. I chose Nant-Isa because it was on an unmade road, so I assumed there would be little or no traffic and more importantly, since I own a dog, I chose it because the description stated, ‘patio and garden’. As in all the properties I have stayed in in 40 years, the garden and/or patio is always enclosed and usually private UNLESS the description says otherwise. The patio was shared with the owners the garden was open to the drive and road,so not dog friendly at all. There were several vehicles and walkers using the road each day which was only a few metres away from the front of the property.

The village of Stiperstones nestles in an unspoilt valley on the slopes of the beautiful Stiperstones Hill range and is only eight miles from the delightful Church Stretton and 12 miles from the historic towns of Shrewsbury and Bishop’s Castle. This small Shropshire village boasts a shop and charming inn and is a perfect starting point for many scenic trails, with the summit of the famous Stiperstones Hill, a 1.5 mile walk, and the East Ridge Wood mountain bike trails very close by. This area is a designated National Nature Reserve, a SSSI and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is consequently a favourite place for outdoor and wildlife enthusiasts. The Stiperstones Hill range is dominated by dramatic quartzite tors, which tower above an unspoilt heathland, the most famous is the Devil’s Chair, whilst Manstone Rock is the highest point at 536m above sea level and offers stunning views on a clear day. A short drive away is one of England's finest heritage towns with over 600 listed buildings; Shrewsbury nestles on a loop of the River Severn. Shrewsbury has a magnificent abbey as well as Shrewsbury Castle, which stands in beautiful gardens and is home to the Shropshire Regimental Museum. There's plenty of interesting things to do in the area, with Attingham Park, Wroxeter Roman City, the museums at Ironbridge, and the castle and Michelin-starred restaurants of Ludlow, all making this hillside village the perfect touring spot for your Shropshire adventure.
