Gweneth is lovely and will go out of her way to help you. She delivered fresh eggs to our door for breakfast and made sure we were comfortable and warm in the cottage. Our for 4 dogs loved it! We were worried as one of them can be quite vocal but it was no problem at all and they were made to feel welcome too. We were even offered 2 empty enclosed fields to run the girls in which was great! The farm is down a long track and the views are spectacular! There are also 4 gorgeous donkeys on the farm It’s safe to say we will be back for a 3rd time very soon. Thanks for looking after us

So peaceful and has beautiful views. It’s really like home from home. Love seeing the cows and donkeys, always happy to greet you. There is always someone around the farm to help if needed, or they pop buy in passing to check if you need anything. Lovely welcome tray very much appreciated. Will definitely be back soon as had a wonderful time as usual.

Our daughter loved that it was on a working farm and was allowed to feed the donkeys with the owner which was a highlight for her. Beautiful scenery all around and right next to the coastal path which is great if you love walking. The owner was fab and gave us extra towels for the dogs and was really friendly. Would recommend for anyone who likes simplicity and walking. Cottage is well equipped and the water is always hot for baths and hand washing. Close to two lovely beaches, South stacks, Holyhead mountain, the lighthouse... the list could go on

The views were outstandingly beautiful. When we arrived the host wasn’t there, so for that day/night we didn’t have the Wi-Fi password. It wasn’t a big problem but just thought it would have been nice to have an information booklet giving the password to connect, along with other information. We got all the information we needed the following day when we met the host, who was lovely. We will definitely come back again. Thank you so much.

Y Barcud had everything you could need for a relaxing stay.very cosy, nice pet-safe grassed garden with superb far-reaching views. Well appointed and equiped inside. Sitting in the garden is silent and tranquil, the only sound comes from the birds really. Nice remote location set well away from the road. Yet a few minutes to drive away are the superb sandy beaches and walks of Holy Island. We would have no reservations whatsoever in recommending this cottage to anyone considering a stay on Anglesey. The owner is an amazing lady who went out of her way to ensure we had the best possible time, with a very useful "welcome" basket and fresh eggs from her own chickens !! We had 4 dogs and the owner was more than happy and helpful in accommodating their needs for a good run, with telling us which of the fields they could be let off the lead and run to their hearts content, all safely away from the livestock on the farm. The owner was always ready to quietly offer help and advice on where to go and where to eat ,when asked. I really should have given a bad report so that the cottage is available for us next time !!!!!, and there WILL be a next time.

Bodwarren Farm

Holyhead 1.3 miles. These six lovely properties are set on the owners’ 70 acre working livestock farm, in a rural location, close to the town and ferry port of Holyhead on Anglesey. With stunning sea and mountain views that can be seen from the farm, these holiday homes are ideal for couples, families and friends with a number of attractions and places to visit within easy reach. Y Wennol and Y Wylan offer single-storey accommodation and both sleep two people, whilst Y Barcud and Bran Goesgoch sleep six each. Cysgod y Bugail and Llety'r Bugail are two delightful little shepherd's huts also sleeping two each. All properties share a courtyard area to park cars, and four have an enclosed garden with a lawned area, patio and furniture whilst the two huts provide peaceful decked balconies, a perfect setting to enjoy an alfresco dinner at the end of the day. Although these charming retreats are in quiet location, there’s something for everyone nearby, including a visit to the town of Holyhead which has remains of Roman town walls and forts, a colourful marina, maritime museum, shops and pubs. Holyhead is also a main ferry point for Ireland, so a day trip to Dublin may be on the cards! Also close by is the Breakwater Country Park, a former quarry, from where you may be able to spot seals who visit the Holyhead coast. Just over three miles away is the resort of Trearddur Bay, with its sandy beaches and watersports. Other places of interest are cliff top walks over Holyhead Mountain, and South Stack Lighthouse RSPB Reserve is well worth a visit. All this and much, much more can enjoyed from these welcoming holiday homes.

About the location

HOLYHEAD

Trearddur Bay 3 miles.

The bustling town of Holyhead rests on the North West coast of the Isle of Anglesey, the largest town on the island and perhaps known best for being the main ferry port to Ireland. Steeped in history, the town boasts the remains of Roman town walls and forts, medieval burial chambers and stone village foundations. Explore the Breakwater Country Park, a former quarry, which offers designated walks through the grounds. The park is full of interesting wildlife, most notably the seals who visit the Holyhead coast, and outlines the amazing construction of the world's longest breakwater, some 1.8 miles, which today protects the harbour. Visit the colourful marina with its yachts and tall ships, or the town's maritime museum, with its tales of 100 shipwrecks in the vicinity. Day trips to Ireland can be enjoyed easily from here, with Dublin just 90 minutes away on the fast ferry. With spectacular cliff top walks over Holyhead Mountain, golden sandy beaches at the award winning Trearddur Bay and the Snowdonia National Park just a 20 minute drive away, this is a superb holiday location, at any time of the year.
