  • "After reading some of the previous feedback we were a little apprehensive about how our stay would be."

Whislt some of the feedback is true the Lodge could do with a bit of an update in terms of decor and furnishings. The beds were comfortable with a good night's sleep for everyone, the sofas are different to the photos being two 2 seater fabric rather than leather recliners but still comfortable. The cleanliness of the lodge was good albeit let down by some of the older tired furnishings (old faded curtains could be swapped to blinds and light bulbs swapped to LED from older energy saving bulbs for example would make the Lodge feel more modern and homely). Overall good value for money and would stay here again in the future.

  • "The lodge was spotlessly clean and in a good location on the park (wild rabbits played outside which was like TV for our dog) Hard floors meant we could sweep up the sand and the TV picked up the full range of Freeview channels."

The park is what it is - we wandered around but didn't do any of the activities (everything about the park is intended to squeeze maximum profits from holiday makers) Lovely walks south down the coast and a massive empty beach. Downsides - that double bed is awful (too soft and felt U-shaped) and the hot water tap in the bathroom didn't work properly. We'd consider coming back here in future.

This Lodge needs a bit of TLC, although it was clean, it needs a new double bed, as it was very uncomfortable, the carpets need cleaning or renewing, very dated lodge, fridge not big enough for five people, veranda small with no sun any time of the day, the park itself was great, very clean, facilities great

Lovely campsite well maintained. Had problem with water pipe bursting but was fixed straight away. Lodge was very nice the only thing was the mattress on the double bed, looked old and uncomfortable but didn't put a damper on our hols. Other than that I have no complaints.

  • "Having read a few negative reviews we were a little unsure of what we would find."

On arrival, pleasantly surprised at how spacious the lodge was. Sleeps 4 comfortably. We had 3 generations and 2 family dogs with us all with enough room. 2 2 seater sofas were comfortable. Decor is a little tired and a refresh would be a nice touch but property is clean. Decking area is completely covered which was a real bonus for us as the weather was unsettled but room to dry dogs and wet clothes outside. There is a launderette a few minutes walk away if you needed to dry clothes quickly. Our only negative is of the site itself. Dogs are not allowed in the outside covered area or bar area. We haven't encountered that at any of the previous sites we have stayed on. Probably wouldn't be an issue if the weather was dry as there's seating away from restaurant. Dogs must be on leads at all times and other than a very small enclosed area you aren't supposed to play with your dogs off lead, no fetch etc regardless of how well behaved you and your dogs are. Beach is very nearby so off lead time available there. Don't know if these are site specific rules or a Haven site norm but definitely food for thought for us when booking our next adventure.

  • "We booked for a weeks holiday for myself, my wife, our dog and our 2 (grown up) kids."

I read all the past feedback after I had booked. This got me worried but it was fine. To update some previous peoples feedback, it looks like the chairs in the main room have ben replaced. There's now two new looking 2 seater settees. The TV remote worked fine and there was more than enough cutlery. As mentioned in another feedback, the wardrobe in the room with 2 singles is unusable but that was no big deal. As for the storage for a case in the single room, it fitted under the bed without a problem. The nights were cold but the heating kept the place lovely and warm. The only complaint I do have is the outside lights don't work. As we were there in November it was pretty dark in the night and the lights would have been nice to find my way up the steps when coming back from my late night dog walks. Perhaps a single light on a PIR sensor would be good? Did we enjoy ourselves there? Yes. Would we go back again? If I had any holidays left from work this year I would go straight back. I'm planning on returning next year :-)

  • "One reason that we booked this Lodge was because it was listed as having WIFI."

Only AFTER we had paid the full amount did we receive a notice that WIFI was only guaranteed in the main building. There was no mention of having to pay to use facilities until 2 weeks before the holiday start. The Lodge itself was not very clean and the carpets very dirty. Some of the shelves had not been cleaned. The equipment provided was poor, saucepans that you need to use a cloth to pick up once they are being used, very cheap plastic utensils and cereal/soup bowls suitable for children only. The shower would benefit from having a soap dish or small ledge for shower gel. One saving grace with the Lodge is that you can walk to a beach. It should be noted that the onsite takeaways are poor in quality. Avoid the chip shop.

  • "The caravan was spotlessly clean and a good size It says it can sleep 7 but I don’t know how."

The kitchen had everything you needed , but a dishwasher would have been nice rather than a washing machine. The seating in the sitting room however was very uncomfortable and had seen better days.and there was only enough seats for three people. It was very hard to get out of the seats,. The flooring in the living area was great laminate flooring. However the carpet in the rest of the van was old tired and dirty. The bathroom was great and a good hot shower. The main bedroom was nice,a good size and uncluttered. The second room had twin beds but t you could not get to the wardrobes or dressing table. The third room was very tiny and nowhere to put your case. It was though the only bed with a headboard. The bedding was very clean. The lights in the rooms were very dim and gave off poor light. There were no side lamps. I’ll in all it was clean warm and had all the basics but it needs updating .

Lounge furniture lost its support so not that comfy, and only room for 3 to sit, so have to use a dining chair. Bed mattresses need replacing, thin and creaky. When originally booked it listed wifi, this got amended to only on club house site. Was a main readon for booking this property. But overall the grandchildren had a good weeks holiday.

  • "The property was advertised as sleeping 5, we were 4 pensioners ages advised over 70."

There are only 3 easey chairs so one of us had to sit on a stand chair, the twin bedded room had no usable wardrobe space due to the fact that because 2 single beds are their one has to be up to the wardrobe doors so they cannot be used, the so called single bedroom has no hanging space at all the main bedroom had a small wardrobe. In the kitchen there is only one large serrated knife and no other food prep knife, Knife and fork for 6 but only 4 table spoons and 3 tea spoons. There was no instructions for use of TV and even with new batterys the remote didn't work. Overal we enjoyed the park and setting, for a young family it would be great with lots to do on the camp.
