  • "Lovely quiet and relaxing place to stay."

Not too remote, plenty of places to visit nearby by car, including some very good restaurants. Nice and friendly owners, would definitely stay here again.

  • "We thought the photographs that accompany the listing are misleading, especially of the grounds."

The shrubbery badly needs cutting back; it took us two days before we found how we could glimpse the sea (just) from the garden! There is severe rot in one or two places on the front exterior of the chalet, but the photos were taken when it was new. The cleanliness was limited to the obvious areas such as sinks and showers; the cooking utensils in a jug on a worktop were well covered with dust / grease. The chalet was surprisingly warm, the bed comfortable and the shower was good. But the hot water to the sinks ran out very quickly every time, so we needed to boil a kettle to do most washing up or to use the bathroom sink for a wash. The loose rugs added colour, but we found they slipped, or we tripped over their edges. The hens a real bonus, once they discovered us, and the nearby goats were also enjoyable, and Songbird Hideaway is certainly secluded and private.

Thank you for supporting small family business. It was nice to talk to you especially at the end of your stay also when you said you had a lovely time. I am saddened you remembered all these negatives on your arrival home. PS: The pictures were taken in spring 2 years ago. Yes, plants grow over the course of year. And the kitchen sink water tank holds 5 litres of water. Property Owner

Barry the owner was very friendly and helpful for directions. The place is set up a little slope and when you park you get welcomed by the friendly cat and chickens. If you love to get away from noisy places this is the best place we have stayed. You can walk in the fields to see the sheep, goats and donkeys.

The property was clean and comfortable and in a very peaceful and secluded setting. We met the owners a couple of times and were very friendly. The only downside was the track up to the property which has been previously mentioned as quite rough and as our car is smallish it had to be driven with extreme care at no more than 5mph but other than that, a lovely stay.

  • "This is a lovely place to stay and would like to return."

As constructive criticism I think you need to advise that it's not possible to get the car right to the top of the slope (we tried) so for people with walking difficulties its a struggle, as it was for my wife. If the slope could be improved that would be the solution. The owners were helpful and assisted in carrying our luggage up this slope. The kitchen equipment is reasonable. A couple of microwave dishes (casserole size) would help and as a personal preference more lighting would make reading easier. These are not show-stoppers but the steep slope could be which is a shame as the Hideaway is lovely and we would like to return.

  • "Very quiet, only sheep, cows and chickens made a noise!"

Very secluded garden where you can sit and enjoy the view and the sheep in the field next to the garden. An excellent place to stay if you want peace and quiet and ideal for visiting the Llyn coast. The drive way up to Songbird Hideaway is definitely not suitable for small cars, very rough with large stones, but large cars will cope if driven slowly. My Volvo V70 estate was fine, but I drove very slowly over the rough drive way with no damage to the car or the tyres.

The chalet was equipped with everything we needed and more. It was spotless, welcoming, romantic and cozy. The location was terrific! We were out in the countryside with the breathtaking views of the mountains, while being close to the stunning beaches and buzzing towns. Additionally, we were able to travel round the different areas of the Llŷn Peninsula due to the location of the Chalet being close to many areas of interest. Such comfortable, well equipped and surprisingly spacious accommodation, set in the most glorious private gardens, with views over sea and mountains, and nothing but the soothing sounds of the wildlife surrounding you. Lovely decoration and homely touches meant that we instantly relaxed on arrival, and were very reluctant to leave at the end of our 4 night stay. We were amazed at how beautifully clean the place was, how well kept it was and how lovely the setting was. Everything was fresh and clean, felt as though they had gone above and beyond to keep the place covid secure. We arrived a couple of days late due to our own transport problems and it wasn’t a problem. Only wish we had more time to spend there! The decor was gorgeous, everything so tastefully decorated with care and attention. It really felt like a home. Instant hot water, massive shower was a bonus! The double bed was the comfiest I’ve ever slept in. A decent tv was perfect for nights in. Though there was no wifi, for those worried about contact, there was decent enough phone signal and we could use the data on our phone when we needed the internet. We would love to come back in the summer and enjoy this place in the warmer months too. Hopefully there will be just as many rabbits in the summer too as waking up to them in the garden was a special treat!

The access road is tricky, lots of potholes so have to drive the 500 yards at 5mph, but you're on holiday so no time pressure. You park near the cottage and walk up a grass slope and through the garden with your bags etc. However waking up there is magical. The bed is very comfortable. The host and hostess were lovely and exceeded our expectations. Would definitely recommend this place.

Ten minutes from one of the nicest beaches I have been to - Lanbedrog beach, if you walk along you can find your own spot from the busy entry point, by the cafe.
