• "Lovely spacious apartment with fantastic views over the harbour and estuary towards Portmerion."

  Apartment is centrally located very close to many restaurants, cafes and shops, as well as the railway station (for Ffestiniog and Welsh Highlands Steam Railways). Apartment was very well equipped to a high standard and was spotlessly clean throughout. An excellent base for exploring Snowdonia and the of NW Wales.

• "What a wonderful find, the apartment was spotless, a perfect location for us and lovely to sit and watch the boats in the harbour from the sitting room."

  The parking was also a great benefit. The host had gone above and beyond to accommodate us as we were staying with our young child and they fitted a stair gate and left a bed guard and cot for us. Such a wonderful stay and can’t recommend enough. Thank you for helping make our stay so wonderful.

• "Comfortable and well appointed."

  Great location and nice harbour view. Welcome basket a nice touch and appreciated. Wife suggests lowering the mirror in the double room as, when seated at the dressing table, it was too high. Biggest issue was the size of the fridge & freezer box. We were a group of three adults and a four year old boy who were on a self catering holiday but had to visit the supermarkets regularly as there was insufficient chilled / frozen storage space. There’s definitely room in the kitchen to have a decent sized fridge / freezer which would allow more holiday - and less shopping - time. However, overall, Harbour View was a lovely place to stay and we would certainly recommend it to anyone travelling to Porthmadog.

• "Do not hesitate to book this immaculate property."

  From the moment you step through the door, the apartment is warm, cosy and inviting. Furnished in light, airy colours. Welcome pack for hot drinks, milk and Welsh sweet treats was unexpected but very much appreciated after a long drive. Spotlessly clean with everything that we wanted for a short family break in November for 3 generations. Super views across the harbour, next door to the Maritime Museum, opposite the Heritage Railway - what more is there to say? A couple of minutes from the coastal path to Borth y Gest and onwards to Morfa Bychan and Criccieth. 5 minutes drive to Tesco for shopping needs. Well equipped kitchen and parking for 2 cars. A much needed and relaxing, stress -free break. Thank you.

• "We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this beautiful apartment."

  It was very clean, well equipped and the under floor heating was wonderful, at this time of year! (Feb '23). Everything was of excellent quality with attention to detail. From fluffy white towels, lovely bed linen, welcome basket (inc chocolate, Welsch cakes, milk, tea & coffees). Sorry to say, there are a couple of negatives. We arrived at night and struggled to find the flat as it was dark (maybe a sign in the lit under pass, where the gates are, would help? We eventually found it, but walking on pebbles to get to the flat, was cumbersome with luggage and noisy. We felt there was lack of privacy in the evening, when the lights were on, due to only voiles at the balcony door & kitchen windows. Other than that, fabulous!

  We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at the Oakleys and really appreciate all of your comments . We have already acted and given clearer arrival instructions in the property directions which we hope helps future guests arriving at night to find the property, admittedly something we hadn’t thought about. • "Generally the apartment was ok."

  Would benefit from a washing machine which we found disappointing. Also outside looking quite dated, neighbouring apartments were quite run down. We also found the apartment quite small and beds too soft and uncomfortable. Neighbourhood shops had very early loadings and unloading. The apartment backed onto these. Also lots of dogs around hence barking. It didn’t impact on our stay too much as we were out most of the time. Just thought the cost didn’t really fit the apartment.

  Thank you for your feedback. The Oakleys apartment is situated on the harbour front, close to local restaurants and shops. Fresh daily deliveries are vital. We are sorry these deliveries disturbed your stay. We decided to include a dishwasher over a washing machine as this would be of more benefit to our guests. All our mattresses are orthopaedic and were expensive. We are very sorry they were not to your liking. Constructive feedback is very important to us and we appreciate your comments.   Home from home, everything you need is there. All products of a high standard. Well positioned with Borth Y Gest close by. A lovely walk past the marina takes you to the beach there. You will find nice bar/ restaurants, cafes overlooking the bay. I would highly recommend this wonderful apartment to family and friends.

  The apartment is very well kept and equipped. The beds are comfortable, the shower is powerful and we found everything we needed for a really comfortable stay. The apartment is very close to the harbour and all the town facilities. The owners ethos is that they really want their guests to enjoy their holiday and this shows. They couldn’t have been more helpful in a difficult situation with our car, definitely above and beyond. Porthmadog is lovely and full of places to explore. Crabbing on the harbour, walks to Borth y Gest, steam train rides, and lovely places to eat. A great place to stay.

• "The Oakleys was great."

  Would definitely stay there again. Ramona was so friendly, helpful and accommodating. I have sensitivity to perfumes and cleaning products and she did everything to accommodate this. She reassured me by phone before arrival about the product situation at the accommodation. Although there is no way of totally avoiding all this stuff (such as residue from washing powder on the beds and soft furnishings - this stuff really clings!) it was as good as I was going to get anywhere. More places should adopt her eco-friendly approach. I was so pleased to have found this place as several others I had contacted used a cocktail of toxic products. It was great there was no washing machine too, so no previous occupants using washing powder. Though we overran our departure time (although we had been up since 7am packing up!), this was not a problem for her when she arrived. Thank you Ramona.

  The apartment was so well equipped and literally a home from home. It’s location is perfect for walks; watching the steam trains come and go, or relaxing with the harbour view. We appreciated the care and thought that the owners had put into the decor and in making us feel so welcome - even leaving a sweet little bunch of fresh flowers tastefully arranged. A couple of points to note - the stairs are quite steep (but have a good handrail) and there was loud early morning noise on a couple of days from deliveries to the restaurant whose yard is next to the apartments. Minor issues for us and we loved it here.

  ! The standard at The Oakleys was superb. We stayed at number 12. It was tastefully furnished, well equipped & spotlessly clean. There was nothing that hadn’t been thought of. Some lovely touches too, including chocolate, Welsh cakes & milk already in the fridge. The view from the living area looked over the harbour, which couldn’t have been lovelier. The location of these apartments was perfect for exploring the area too. Couldn’t recommended The Oakleys enough.

• "Wonderful accommodation in great location."

  Very clean and comfortable. Only 2 points of improvement- it got quite hot at night so a fan to put in the bedroom may have been nice. Secondly, the drainage of the shower is not very good and could spill over if not careful. We had to keep turning shower off to let it drain and turn back on again. We also noticed in the living room when we arrived that some of the windows were cracked and not sure if owner is aware. We would definitely consider coming back though and wish we could have stayed longer.

  Thank you for leaving such lovely feedback, we are so glad the weather was sunny for your stay, we have taken your advice and there will be a fan in the property for future guests. The shower has been checked and it will not overflow, this will be replaced at the end of the season. We are aware of the cracked windows and are currently waiting for the property committee to give us the go ahead to have these replaced as they need to be in keeping with the area and other properties. • "We had a wonderful holiday and the flat position, with a view of the estuary, was truly delightful."

  I have rated 'facilities' as 3 because there was no washing machine and, if we had children with us, one would be very useful.

  Only a couple of things would improve it. There is No charging point in the bathroom for toothbrush or shaver & the bed frame has hard corners, which caused my wife & I to bump our knees & toes on a couple of occasions.

• "This flat was exceptionallly comfortable and really clean."

• "The apartment really had everything we could possibly need, everything was so well thought out."

  The location is perfect for exploring, we went along the coast on the Wales coast path and absolutely gorgeous beaches and views are less than a 20 minute walk away. We loved the stay at the Oakleys, with it being an apartment we wondered if there would be noise from other apartments but it was really quiet and peaceful the entire time. Views of the harbour were lovely and the check in and check out process was really easy. We would absolutely come back and stay again, hopefully more of the local restaurants will be open the next time we visit :)
