  • "This is our second stay and Isallt is just as we remembered it well equipped and clean with lovely views over the Menai Straits."

It sits in a very quiet village but with easy access to many of North Wales attractions ( by car). The horses are lovely to see when in the field to the front. We were lucky with the weather and had a lovely stay.

We were looking for a place that was peaceful and that's what we got. Would certainly go again.

  • "We had a fabulous stay in July, despite the rain!"

The house is well equipped with all the essentials, along with little extras like hand-wash in all the bathrooms, toilet rolls and some washing powder etc. The only small niggle was that the bath water only runs lukewarm, definitely not warm enough for a bath. The views over the Menai Strait were gorgeous, I think we watched each sunset from the living room window! The village is very quiet with no shops, but has a lovely slate walk through the countryside and village. We spent a few days exploring and there is lots to see and do in the area, we explored Bangor, Caernarfon and went up The Snowdon Mountain Railway. We would definitely recommend staying here, thanks again Michael.

The property is very well furnished, has all the facilities you need and is spotlessly clean. Michael was very helpful to us. The location is perfect for exploring both mountains and coast. Beautiful scenery is just a short drive away and we were lucky to get fantastic weather! The horses in the field opposite are delightful! We would definitely recommend Isallt.

It is in a great location for exploring North Wales. The village is so peaceful with lovely walks around the lanes & slate trail. Great communication with the owners, Michael & Wendy. It really is a great home to base your holiday. We stayed as a couple in a place for six. If we return it would be with son, wife and grand children. Just can't fault it - everything that you need. Clean, comfortable, spacious and in a really nice quiet elevated location overlooking the Menai Straight. Gems like this are not easy to find.

It's very spacious in size and the provision of multiple bathrooms is very convenient. The rooms and decking to the rear overlook the Menai Straight and those rooms to the front overlook a field of horses when was nice. The slate trail walk from the centre of the village is worth exploring for local walk. Would recommend.

The directions were very easy to follow. We had a great time. The only negatives are no instructions as to what to do with bedding/ towels. The other thing us that the garden furniture needed cleaning before we could use it. Altogether, a lovely stay and great value for money.

The view from the rear of the property over the Menai Strait was a real treat, especially as the living/dining room overlooked it. The beds were comfy, with soft bedding, and there were plenty of hand towels and bath towels provided. We met the human neighbours who were very friendly and quiet, and the animal neighbours were a delight! It really was a lovely surprise having the horses in the field at the front, especially as they had 2 foals. There aren't any amenities in Rhostryfan, but there are some nice walks along the old railway line, and you are very close to a Morrisons Daily if you run out of something. Caernarfon is very close by and has a selection of supermarkets and takeaways. Last but not least, Wendy and Michael are incredibly helpful, and when our car broke down and we were stuck the day before we were due to leave, Michael pushed our check out time back to give us time to arrange a hire car, and offered his help, making an incredibly stressful time easier! We would definitely stay here again.

Useful to be able to park in front of the building and the situation is perfect - very quiet, a wonderful view towards the Menai Straights and Snowdon only 15 - 20 minutes drive away. Caernarfon and the large shopping centre on the outskirts of Bangor are also quickly reached. It is modern, well equipped and spotlessly clean throughout. Beds and large lounge sofa are very comfortable. Excellent dining area for a full complement of 6. Patio doors leading to veranda deck overlook Menai Strait in the middle distance. This type of place comes under the heading of don't tell anybody about it to ensure that you can re-book easily the next time, but that would not do justice to the owner, Michael who we spoke to and was most helpfull.

  • "The property was very well presented and also well equipped."

It took us a few minutes to find it after we arrived in the village. We were only a few yards away, but the sat nav deposited us around the corner and it was quite dark. The angle of the picture on the site gives the impression that the house stands alone in a prominent position, and that made it slightly harder to pick out because there is a building either side, one of which hides it from the road. The lane on which the house stands is the last on the right in the village (if you are travelling uphill), just after a small cul de sac (forgotten the name now), and the house is the the second one in (but first front door as the first house is the other way around). That's not a complaint - it's just to aid anyone else arriving.

Isallt is an excellent base to explore many areas of North Wales and the Llyn Peninsula. During the course of our week we visited and explored Caernarfon, Llanbedrog, Abersoch, Beaumaris, Llanberis including climbing up & down Snowdon, Aberdaron, Whistling Sands, Morfa Nefyn, Nefyn, Pwllheli, Porthmadog, Portmerion and Criccieth. Lovely house, everything seemed brand new. Particularly like the position of the house, as the views are fantastic and it is well placed to travel in various directions to see all the great places around. Only 6 m from the nearest beach Dinas Dinlle, which is amazing and a must visit place, shortish drive to Snowdon paths, Caernarfon, and Lake Padarn which the children loved. Walkable (2m) to first class restaurant, Plas Dinas. Not cheap but worth every penny, uphill walk on way back but much needed as we ate so much! Small garden, but there is so much to do in the area, we did not need garden to play in (note if you have tots - there is no gate, so garden is unsecured). Would wholeheartedly recommend and would love to return.

Heating is adjustable so if weather changes you can warm or cool down the house as you wish. Bed was very good and ensuite shower fantastic. Couldn’t get hot water from bath taps which was disappointing as all other taps ran hot and fast. House is well equipped generally, the only odd thing was no hooks on bedroom or bathroom doors to hang robes and no towel rails for bath towels. Each toilet did have a small hand towel on a ring and hand wash provided which was great. Television has Freeview and Amazon fire stick so if you sign into your Amazon account you can watch a film or series in the evening on a good sized flat screen TV on the large corner sofa - so it evenings are not warm enough to enjoy the patio you are still able to relax in comfort with tv or a book. The village doesn’t have a shop in walking distance and no welcome pack at all in house so come prepared with own snacks if you’ve travelled far and want a cuppa and a rest on arrival! Overall a good place for a break where you can be in Caernarfon or Llanberis in under half an hour.
