"Peaceful, rural location close to Betws-y-Coed."
Lots to explore and do in the area. Cottage ideal for couples and convenient to either visit restaurants in the area or self-cater and dine in. Private off-road parking, comfortable living area and bed. Being a light sleeper, on some nights the traffic on the main road was busy - but my wife slept through it!

"What a little gem of a property!"
! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Really beautiful surroundings and somewhere to eat just up the road if you don’t feel like cooking. We’ve really enjoyed our stay here and hope to return regularly in the future as it’s everything we want. Thank you again for allowing us to bring two dogs. The outside area is secure as described and the apartment was very clean on our arrival. The bed was a good size and comfortable, and facilities were spot on (with the added bonus of the washer and drier in the utility room underneath) We found the shower leaks underneath the door whilst your in it (I think it run off the door then under the glass) so had to put a towel down whilst using but a very minor issue. All in all can’t fault the place- fab!

"We found the property in a idyllic place."
We loved being by the bridge and enjoyed the views of the open fields. The information on the website was accurate so we were not disappointed by anything.we will be booking again for 2025 and are looking forward to going back.We have a small dog and he enjoyed his freedom in the dog friendly space outside.a great place.thankyou for a great time

"It wasn't the worst accomodation we ever stayed in."
What we loved was the view towards the fields, with the sheep and cows grazing from dawn to dusk, the wind mills in the distance and being next to the stone bridge, all gave it a holiday feel. The property is close enough to get to any places in North Wales in reasonable times. We liked the enclosed yard area, safe for the dog, and the two seating areas. The accommodation was clean enough, surface cleaning as usual. We learned that is pointless to complain about that. A musty smell persists in the flat, and we kept all windows open when we were in. The owner should really check and get sorted those few problematic mouldy places. The sofa there is the most uncomfortable piece of furniture, especially when trying to watch tv( on the days with non stop rain, stretching your neck like a giraffe). The noise in the bedroom from the high traffic road literally next to the cottage, is something else...Earplugs in... New soundproof window should be put in and the hole above filled in properly, not with kitchen roll paper... All in all, we would probably go back if needed.

"Spotlessly clean property with all the facilities needed for a holiday break."
Wonderful area with plenty to do and see even if the weather wasn’t the best. Would book again.
-
"The property is charming,a lovely place to stay, cozy and the pub just up the road is lovely, the food stunning, altogether a lovely stay, would highly recommend."
-
"All good, ideal location to our planned activities."
We had a very enjoyable stay and would happily book again next time visiting North Wales.

"Fabulous week for me and Charlie (the dog) Great cottage."
....ideal location Great pub across the road with fabulous food and welcome cant wait to get back

"We had a lovely peaceful stay , it had everything we needed ."
The only things missing I think was booklets of places to go, walks , eating out. The property was big enough for the two of us plus our dog Fred. , Betws-y-Coed was only about 10 mins drive away. We are already thinking of going back in the summer. Yes it was a lovely peaceful weekend away, thank you Ray and Amanda

"Ignore the 1 star reviews for this place."
What you get for the money is absolutely spot on. And the place was spotless so we don’t understand what the 1 star reviews are talking about. It is in the perfect location for plenty of walks. Swallow falls is only about 8 miles away which is a wonderful place to visit and we also went to bodnant garden which is about 20 miles away and a great place to visit. The place is a credit to the owner and we would definitely return

"A lovely little cottage, ideal for a quiet getaway."
Perfect for dogs, the enclosed yard was safe and secure and the windowed entrance door was like Dog TV watching the cows and sheep in the adjacent field.
-
"Ideal base for exploring North Wales."
The property was clean and tidy. Location is as described. All in all I would have no hesitation going back again or recommending it to others.

"It’s a lovely little place to stay and ideal for people like us."
However, the doors downstairs don’t set a good look, there was two lots of dog mess in the stone of the courtyard and the stairs very rusty. We had trouble getting in and out of the parking space because of 3 cars outside the next door property’s being in a 4x4 it meant we had to reverse out onto a very busy road. Also the fence by the river, whilst I appreciate it needs to keep the livestock in the field could be done in a much better way. Stock proof fencing with a rail across the top so it doesn’t block it out so much.
Thank you for your feedback and appreciate your comments! I apologies if the previous guests had not cleared after their dog . I do check around but must have missed it. The staircase and doors get painted every winter and the staircase is due to be replaced this winter ! If you found parking difficult , I’m sure the people in the other property would have moved for you or if not , you could have contacted me to sort the problem out ! There is plenty of space to park a vehicle within your driveway and close the gate ! The parking area is for 5/6 vehicles so should be ample for any driver to turn around ! The fence used to be just hit and miss rails, but due two previous customers having a problem with their dog escaping into the steam and field beyond, the fence has now got extra rails . As the owner and cleaner of the property I take pride in making sure that property is as clean and presentable as possible. Having only last month replaced the bedding, bedside lamps, pictures, glasses, crockery, cooker, microwave, side tables and more you can only see every negative and marked me accordingly . I also try to give an economic stay and am one of the lowest priced properties in the area . Obviously this property was not good enough for you standards . Property Owner

"Very good stunning views"
-
"It would be a lovely place if the owner cleaned it properly and did a lot of general maintenance to make it nice ."
The shower was covered in thick black mould all over the trim as well it leaked the door was mucky and mouldy inside so I spent my first day cleaning up everything including the cutlery drawer .the steps leading out are all rusty and could do with a proper coatvof paint .we didn't see the owners all the time we were there not even for a first day greeting .there is no games room as advertised. If I could of I would of drove back home but couldn't afford too and only have set weeks holiday a year so I end up cleaning other peoples mess etc not what you expect when you payed nearly 500 pounds for just 6 nights
Thank you for your feedback but I am very disappointed with some of your points ! As the owner and cleaner of the property I take pride in the cleanliness and appearance of the property. Firstly the shower seals were brand new and there was no thick mold around the trim, and the door didn’t and doesn’t leak !!! Nether was the cutlery drawer dirt ! I sometimes video the property after cleaning and thankfully did so just before your arrival . The outside staircase is painted every winter but is due to be refurbished this coming winter. I don’t meet and greet any guests as I don’t know what time they will arrive and it’s a holiday let not a hotel . I speak to every guest to arrange the key collection and ask them to contact me if they have any problems during their stay ! The games room was meant to have been taken off the Sykes site during Covid and has now been removed. You actually paid £415 for your stay not £500 . I obviously loose commission and vat plus running, cleaning and maintenance costs ! Not sure if you realise how economic I try to keep my prices ? Please feel free to find another property giving such value for money ? Property Owner

"Another lovely holiday at this property, basic but clean, water nice and hot,a smart TV would be good, the utility room was great, did our washing and dried it on the washing line, stunning views and area and the enclosed garden perfect for our dog."
-
"Beautiful location with the stream and livestock on your doorstep."
Cottage is just a short drive to many local attractions. Local pub The Giler Arms is very friendly and food is great. The TV has poor reception but as the location is so beautiful, this can be ignored. The road outside the bedroom window is consistently busy so light sleepers may suffer. The hygiene of the cooker leaves a little to be desired so the local pub is worth visiting for your evening meals. Would suggest you take your own Pillows, duvet and mattress protector. All in all, beautiful location, great base for days out and Snowdonia, locals are lovely, can't wait to revisit.
Thank you for your feedback ! Brand new bedding, protectors, pillows and duvet. Cooker, crockery, microwave, and more . TV needed retuning. Would have liked to know about any problems while you were staying at the property in order that you could enjoy your stay ? Property Owner

"Dirty sinks in kitchen and bathroom, dirty oven I wouldn't ever use."
stains on mattress and pillow protectors. No garden to speak of just somewhere to park your car. BBQ dirty old and still had ash from previous. Unpacked car, checked out place, used microwave which was clean, washed up repackaged car and came home. To say disappointed is putting it mild.
With an average all time rating of 86% , I take feedback very seriously and personally as an owner and cleaner ! You have just made my property sound like a dump ! Why o Why didn’t you firstly contact myself or Sykes cottages to to resolve any of the issues that you mentioned ??? I personally clean and maintain the property and would never expect anyone to stay in somewhere as you have described it. My feedback scores are not perfect but I strive to improve and appreciate constructive criticism but not insults !!! Property Owner

"We had a great time in Wales, so much to see and do."
The property was exactly as described and was fine for our needs. We used Glan Nug Bach as a base and it fulfilled our every requirement. Would we return here? Definitely. and

"On pulling into parking area the area needed weeding and the wooden fence needed a good staining of paint also there's a BBQ outside when opening looked like it hadn't been cleaned since last year mould etc the cottage is more like a loft conversion if your over 6ft your safe in the middle walking my wife is over 5 ft tall and she still hit her head on the ceiling advise head protection all in all the bed was ok and watching the sheep very expressive for the time of year over 500 pounds for 5 nights book if you dare I could go on."
Thank you for your feedback ! Please look at the feedback before and after your stay, both very positive ? I appreciate constructive feedback but nothing is gained from negativity ! I’m 6’2” and don’t have any problems with the ceiling height ? And you actually only paid £222 to Sykes for your stay? Not over £500 as you stated !!! And after commission, vat and running, cleaning costs leave very little ! You may have paid some other booking company more but they saw you coming ? I try to give a clean, economic and welcoming stay and encourage every guest to contact me if they have any problems so that they can be resolved . Property Owner

"Lovely accommodation, however the access stair case outside light was not working, potentially a hazard."
Some light bulbs in the property are needing replaced.
-
"Lovely little cottage very well equipped with all essentials and a lovely pub across the road selling great beer and food."
Great location for walking and enjoying the county side
-
"Lovely little cottage everything we needed great pub within walking distance fab base to explore North Wales."
-
"We had a lovely few days at glan nug Bach."
The property was clean. It had everything we needed. Cows greeted us each morning at the fence below. The pub opposite was lovely.. Dog friendly.. Great food.. Good grounds to walk dog. It is on a main road but we live on a main road at home so didn't bother us
-
"A really gorgeous cottage in a great location for exploring Snowdonia and the rest of North Wales"
-
"The cottage is cute and in a nice location, but has a few downfalls, I booked this for the weekend and although it was in the hot weather the property is an apex of a building and extremely hot, this isn't necessarily a fault but needs to be considered for future bookings."
However the bed is probably the most uncomfortable thing I've ever slept on, I'd booked 2 nights but had to cancel the 2nd as there was no way we could have stayed there a 2nd night so we left Saturday morning. The property seems to be furnished using odds and ends of furniture, its all a bit mix/match. I don't like leaving a negative review, but I'm trying to be honest.
-
"Very clean and good supply of kitchen utensils, pots/pans, etc."
However, the bed was not very comfortable and the TV didn't work properly with the signal constantly failing. Good shower and good supply of hot water. Lovely views. Easy to arrange key collection and owner very helpful with local hints and tips.
-
"We had a lovely stay, the property was small but had everything we needed to enjoy our holiday."
It was well positioned to enjoy the beauty of north Wales and Snowdonia. The owner was informative and provided information about the local area. The only small issue was I found the bed uncomfortable but overall a very nice place to stay.
-
"Fantastic place,with beautiful views"
-
"Absolute stunning stone cottage in a rural location will be booking again soon"
-
"This cottage has everything you need and is very clean and comfortable."
s only for a couple but superb. Highly recommend it and have stayed there twice now and will certainly be going again.
-
"Very pleased."
One small thing you should say on the onset that towels will not be provided because on your advert it says linen and towels are provided.
-
"Very good location for travelling around Northern Wales, good facilities, very good instructions left by the host."
Highly recommended.
-
"Nice small cottage in a lovely rural area comfortable and cosy, maybe due to time of year there was nowhere to eat in the evening but we found The Goat Inn around ten mins drive away who did some good Food, the Giler Hotel had some very erratic opening times, we had a relaxing holiday and would return."
-
"Lovely cottage , great hosts , great place to holiday in the North of Wales."
Every thing we needed, nothing to complain about. WE BE BACK Lorraine & Ray
-
"I believe we left the cottage cleaner than we found it."
But that may have been the fault of the previous people. The fridge was dirty and had to be cleaned before we could use it. The bed was lumpy but it didn't take long until i found out how to position body between lumps. More of an observation than a complaint - The tv is in the wrong position, maybe too high on the wall, but luckily the weather was nice so we sat outside most evenings. Same for the bathroom cabinet, a little bit to high for wife to use, she isn’t that short at 5ft 4in, I’m a little taller and found it useable. Yes it was next to the main road, but you quickly get used to the road noise so not a bother. The little stream that runs under the bridge was just perfect to fall asleep to in the sun. You can fit two folding chairs on the balcony and was really nice to sit and watch the sunset on the fields. We made use of the bbq a few time, everything was provided but we brought our own coals so used them. We used the washing machine, again placed too high to see where to put the soap so it went in the drum. The tumble drier is not free to use so we didnt. WiFi is slow, i was getting fast speeds on my phone so used that, this is not the owners fault, as the phone signal was patchy at best during our stay. Slightly over priced in my opinion.
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry you found some issues during your stay. These have not been raised before but we will look into them. The dryer is not advertised but we leave it there in case it is useful for some people and it is less than £1 per use. We hope you enjoyed your stay overall and thanks again for your comments. "Great stay!"
Just the right size for 2 adults and our German Shepherd. The cottage had everything we needed. It was clean and tidy. The shower worked really well and the oven heated up quickly. Plates, bowls, cutlery etc were provided. The view was beautiful looking across the fields and hills with a seating area outside, the sound of the stream was so relaxing and peaceful. The local pub was a short walk across the road (the pub also does food to takeaway which was great). There's off road parking behind the gate and the garden is fully enclosed. Would definitely recommend.
-
"Stayed at the Glan Nug Bach for 4 nights."
Could not fault the cottage. It was clean and the facilities were better than expected. Would highly recommend it.
-
"Wfi was a let down only worked the fist 2 days then nothing for the rest of the week."
-
"Lovely comfy cottage."
Ideally placed for visiting Snowdonia. Very small point we arrived in very bad weather, so we did watch the TV. It would have been easier to watch if the TV had been a little lower.
-
"Area of the cottage was good, it is next to the main road so there was some noise from the passing traffic, however this was a minor problem and did not spoil our visit."
The property is in a good location for a central base as the surrounding area has plenty of activities available to all ages. The internet connection was at times intermittent. Overall our stay was a busy one, with the property having all we needed to relax and recover from our daily activities.
-
"The place was very well laid out had everything you would need, hairdryer towels, and tea towels, but when the neighboring property was occupied later on our first day, we started to noticed a bad sewerage smell that got worse during the week causing us to leave early on the Sunday off our second week ."
This spoilt our holiday as we could not sit out and had to keep the door shut. this was such a shame as we did like the property
-
"We had a great holiday, the cottage was perfect for us two it had everything that we needed, the pub was only a few minuets walk and was also great, lovely people and the best food."
With drove to every destination in snowdonia that we wanted to see nothing was too far away and found other hidden gems too more local to the cottage. Would love to go back even if we didn’t do any sight seeing, just to sit outside and chill out.
-
"The "cottage" is no more than a studio."
The photographs are very deceptive as it's a tiny space with just enough room for 2 people. It's advertised as pet friendly as it is accessed by an external metal staircase this would not be suitable for older dogs. It's listed as being by a road but doesn't say it's the main A5 into Wales it's very busy and very noisy at all times of the day and night. We asked for close to a pub and it is but you need to publish opening times as it opens at 6 and shuts at 9 in low season. The location is great to get to some beautiful walks. The owner seemed very friendly and there is everything that you need but the property is not good value for money. I couldn't wait to come home. Very disappointed.
Many thanks for your feedback, we have fed your comments back to the owner in order to maintain our property standards. "Beautiful place, lovely walks all around."
-
"The comfortable, well-equipped accommodation."
It was well situated and, despite being situated on the A5, traffic noise was never a problem (please note that my wife and I have good hearing!) It was a pleasant surprise to find a free gift of wine awaiting us on our arrival.
-
"This was a great little cottage."
We have such a good time there and around the area. The only issue was with the internet. It only worked for the first night and I needed to complete so work while I was away so had to go surching for places with free WiFi. That was the only issue. The cottage itself was beautiful and such a lovely place to stay.
-
"The owners were very friendly and welcoming, the cottage was very clean, and had everything we needed for a very enjoyable break, we would certainly go back, and definitely use Sykes cottages again, because of the booking experience and the quality of the properties."
-
"Stunning location,Very nice peaceful break and will be re-booking the cottage again."
-
"A fabulous little cottage in an idyllic location."
The cottage itself is small but has everything you need for your break and the bed is so comfy! The outside space is safe if you take your dog. If you want peace and quiet this cottage is for you! There is a local pub which serves superb food a 10 minute walk away, a local shop half an hour away. The town is a 10 minute drive away with lovely shops to wander around and great walks for the more energetic! We would definitely book this cottage again - if I were to have a holiday home, this would be it - just perfect!
-
"Great little place, clean and adequate but in need of some updating."
Hot water runs out quick . My main concern are the steel entrance stairs which can be a little slippery, may be they could be replaced with wooden ones and the landing enlarged to accomadate a couple of chairs to enjoy the stunning view across towards Tryfan. Overall it was a great place in a great location.
-
"The cottage was in a lovely location."
Clean and tidy with a gift left by the owners it made our arrival special. beautiful views across the fields was spectacular. We were sad to leave but plan on returning.
-
"Ideal accomadation for a couple with one dog."
Everything you need for a short stay. In easy reach of things to do. Had an enjoyable stay.
-
"Our answers have said it all we had a very enjoyable time in a very clean cottage/flat although small it was big enough for the two of us and the dog."
We were very pleased to find a welcoming bottle of wine, thank you.
-
"We had a lovely stay, cottage was excellent and in a great location."
Nice welcome treats, facilities were all good, very clean and comfortable. Pub across the road was friendly and served great food. Would definitely book again.
