  • "Great property with five en-suite bedrooms, one on the ground floor suitable for anyone with mobility issues."

We were a group of 7 mature adults and there was plenty of room especially as 2 lounges. Very well equipped kitchen. When we had a small issue the owner resolved it immediately. Several good pubs within a few minutes drive. Lovely quiet location in a pretty village.

Thank you for your feedback Gillian. Very much appreciated. Property Owner

  • "We all had a fantastic stay at your beautiful property, Y Gorlan."

Thankyou so much for the welcome pack which was a lovely start and much appreciated. Everything we could possibly need was supplied, right down to a dustpan and brush. There was a great selection of crockery, glasses and kitchen equipment and supplies. We did not eat out, so cannot recommend any local eateries but instead we cooked in the lovely kitchen and dined al fresco in the beautiful scenic garden every evening as the weather was perfect. Y Gorlan is the perfect base for enjoying the beautiful local area of Conwy and North Wales. It was great to have an en-suite to each room. Just one slight issue, my Granddaughter said that the shower in the four poster room knocked loudly. I didnt check this as she just used one of the others, so am only mentioning it in case you want to check it yourselves . We were very sad to leave and would have loved to stay longer and can highly recommend Y Gorlan. Thanks again.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review, very much appreciated. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay so much. We have contacted our plumber and he has replaced the rainfall shower unit in the four poster ensuite bathroom as it had become corroded inside after only 2 years. Thank you for letting us know. • "We left a handwritten note by the front door when we left."

O verall excellent. A couple of things not working - the hand held Dyson did not work despite being on charge, the Nespresso coffee machine had been filled with loose coffee grounds by a previous user and was badly clogged up - We tried to flush it but never used it, and one of the showers really needs descaling. Part of the trim on the outside of the back sitting room door is becoming detached. We broke two glasses in the dishwasher which we left on the top above the sink. Removing ash from the base from the base of the BBQ is very difficult - a small dust pan and brush should be supplied. Finally at the price paid we would have expected a small welcome pack of fresh milk plus a few other items as there is no shop in the village and the nearest shops is more than a short drive away. The location is lovely.

Thank you for your valuable feedback and for taking the time to let us know. We are very pleased you enjoyed your stay. The portable handheld Dyson does not work whilst it is plugged in. You have to remove the cable that charges it first. It is working perfectly fine. The coffee machine is new from April 2023, we have asked the cleaners to ensure it has not been misused in future. We checked the shower as suggested and apologies but found no issues with the shower head option or the rainfall option. There is a handle by the taps which changes the flow between the shower head and the rainfall shower. The new extension was finished on 31/03/23 and we have asked the builder to return to fix the trim. There is a dust pan and brush in the store cupboard off the hall where the hoover, iron, ironing board, brush, mop , travel cots and highchair are kept. We are very sorry we did not leave a welcome pack with fresh milk on this occasion, we normally do but we were on holiday ourselves for two weeks and the start of your stay coincided with our second week. Please accept our sincere apologies. There are UHT sachets of milk in the cupboard on the left of the fridge, tea, coffee and sugar in the canisters next to the kettle. We also provide loo rolls +1, shampoo, shower gel, hair conditioner & body lotion in every bathroom, kitchen roll, cling film, kitchen foil, washing up liquid, washing detergent, dish washer tablets, bin bags, dish cloths, disinfectant etc. Everything so your holiday can begin as stress free as possible, which is what we want to achieve. We believe as self catering standards go Y Gorlan is exceptional in so many respects and very hard to beat for the price. We are so pleased you think it is excellent too :) Thank you Property Owner

About the location

CONWY

Llandudno 5 miles; Betws-y-Coed 16 miles.

Conwy, a World Heritage Site, is without doubt world famous for its historical and architectural heritage, yet at the heart of the town lies a hub of bustling activity. Alongside its ancient festivals and fairs, musical recitals, galleries and historical attractions, there is an array of specialist shops, restaurants and hotels. Built for King Edward I between 1283 and 1287, Master James of St George's design, Conwy Castle remains one of the most outstanding achievements of medieval military architecture. The distinctive, elongated shape, with its two barbicans, eight massive towers and a great bow-shaped hall was perhaps determined by the narrow rocky outcrop on which the castle stands. The town is proud of its historic traditions and celebrates its past by retaining many of these in its annual festivals, events and fairs, including the Honey fair, Seed fair and Gwledd Conwy Feast in October, along with other musical events throughout the year. Conwy is the perfect base for exploring the dramatic Snowdonia National Park, walking unspoilt sandy beaches, or taking in the wonderful scenery on your doorstep. Also within reach are the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, which has the longest zip wire in Europe, and Surf Snowdonia is just six miles away.
