  • "This cabin has the potential to be brilliant."

It is in an idyllic setting surrounded by trees and woodland. However, you SERIOUSLY have to get rid of that sofa. Not only was it far too low, but both of us could not sit on it at the same time or we would never have been able to get up! One shelf in a fridge for a self catering property is nowhere near enough room for food etc and there was only one door shelf which was damaged at one end so unusable. There was no heating on when we arrived and the place was freezing. We rang the number given and were advised that Tracey doesn’t work there anymore it was now Matt. He came within 30mins and sorted the heating out.

  • "Hmmmmmm..."

..Sweeping Cobwebs!! And spider heaven... I used the vacuum and went over every room! Sooo many historic cobwebs. Unfortunately vacuum cleaner useless too...so I can understand why the gaps and edges were not done as nozzle doesn't come apart and it's missing a wheel! I also cleaned the 2 bathroom sinks and toilet as these were dirty. The bathroom radiator towel rails had splash marks too so not cleaned. Blinds in all rooms thick with dust (I didn't attempt them!) We had a list of issues on arrival...the 2 phone numbers on the wall are useless! One is the old number not even on the network and the other one is an ex partner! Also...Tracy (who Sykes recommends to call) we also had no reply from! It wasn't until the Wednesday that a couple of maintenance guy's who my husband saw on site eventually did come in and placed 2 new bulbs in cooker hood, mended the window (handle on wrong so wasn't locking), battery in the wall clock and correct cable for the dvd player!! It's the attention to detail that's missing in this lodge which is described as a luxury pad for 2! Now...on a plus! Hot tub just lovely, and very private. Bed, very comfortable and huge. Towels supplied lovely. Private Lodge and in a lovely area to explore. Please listen to and act on these issues... I think things have just been missed over time and let slip. A really good spring clean...and a few new bits of furniture I'm sure will make a massive difference to future guests visiting.... And remove the numbers from the wall and update!! Karen

We went for a week and the Property was amazing we couldn't really find any faults other than the pull out sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable springs sticking out too much to the point it caused bruising other than that it was fantastic it's well equipped everything you need to cook full meals the large bed was so comfy shower really nice the hot tub was amazing the only thing was after a few days the water went quite murky so it would of been nice to perhaps have a water change half way through the week other than those 2 faults it was Fantastic and we will be back

So disappointed in the accommodation certainly not as advertised on approaching the lodge was greeted by an ash tray full of spliffs and ash all up the steps leading to the hot tub hot tub cover ripped and well worn looked rotten even before we entered the lodge once inside no chesterfield as advertised but a small 2 str couch springs gone the table was sticky with cup ring stains fridge hadn’t been cleaned and food residue on cutlery so had to wash them all ,in the bathroom toilet was fine but shower tray was yellow with black possibly mould around the rims into the bedroom bath looked great but the springs in the bed had gone and bed had a topper put on to try and make it comfy but it didn’t work we had spent £350 for a 2night stay as the advert said comfort and peace and tranquillity and gave the lodge a fantastic write up we found something really different needs upgrading and a new advert written explaining its old and tired and needs upgrading would not stay here again waste of money

Lodge is very cosy and has everything you might need. It’s very quiet so it’s perfect if you going away to relax. Also, great positive for being dog friendly! Our four legged friend loved it! Will definitely go back.

The city offers delightful riverside parkland and a children’s play area with picturesque river walks where you may see kingfishers, sparrow hawks and buzzards. St Asaph is home to a historic cathedral, dating back 1400 years in areas and holding the reputation of being the smallest, ancient cathedral in Britain. It is also renowned as the location where the Bible was translated into Welsh in the 16th century. In September, the city comes alive with the arrival of the North Wales International Music festival, which takes place across numerous locations, culminating for the last few years in a television finale, broadcast from the cathedral. St Asaph offers numerous amenities and activities, from traditional pubs, to gastronomic dining experiences, numerous craft and gift shops and local clubs offering a 9-hole golf course, horse riding, angling, and crown green bowling, as well as a thriving leisure centre and the Tweedmill Retail Outlet.
