  • "Really enjoyed my stay at Oer, 8 Ty’n Don."

Great location, close to a lovely long sandy beach - ideal for a brisk walk or run in the morning before breakfast to blow away the cobwebs and for exercising your four-legged friends. Good base to explore the Lynn Peninsula. Nice sized property to comfortably accommodate a single person, couple, or small family. I would definitely recommend this property for anyone wanting a nice peaceful break away from “the rat race” and to recharge their batteries.

  • "This is a property that I have stayed in many times and will return to over and over again."

When I arrive and have unpacked I'm just happy. The best thing about the cottage is definitely the view. It has a wide window sill which I love to sit on and just stare out at the sea. The view changes constantly, on a clear day the views across the fields to the sea are beautiful and when the weather is bad they are dramatic and ever changing. The main bedroom has the same view and I love to sit in bed with my coffee and enjoy the vista. It is a short walk over to the coastal path and a quick descent down to Hell's Mouth beach. I have visited a various times of year but in the summer I enjoy body boarding in the waves. There is a lovely walk straight from the cottage which is a couple of hours and follows the coastal path finishing on the town beach in Abersoch. I always take my dog and she gets several walks a day along the beach. The cottage is always perfectly clean. When I am there I like to stay in and cook and the kitchen is well equipped. It is a short drive into Abersoch and I like to wander round the shops and pick up groceries there There is plenty of parking and I can even charge my electric car using the onsite charger.

  • "We had a fabulous week at Ty’n Don in Cottage 8 Oer."

The location is stunning and the sea view across the bay is beautiful. The Cottage was spotless when we arrived and has a great kitchen with everything you could need for a self catering holiday. The beds are really comfortable and there are sinks in each room in addition to the main bathroom. The lounge has a huge window that looks out to Hells Mouth bay. Such a relaxing break in a lovely cottage - We can’t wait to come back!

  • "This place is a real gem."

The location next to the beach is amazing-so close and love you can walk straight from the cottage onto the coastal path. Our dog loved the beach. The cottage had everything we needed and was really homely. EV charger on site a bonus too

  • "No signage to so called onsite facilities."

issue with drains resulted in a couple of days of awful smells. 1 toilet roll a bit of a joke for a family of 4. bad enough we had to bring own bedding and towels or pay extra. no welcome pack just a curt you cant park there from owner. view fabulous property basic and i.n need of some work mould in wardrobes rendered them unusable. games room cannot be called that

So sorry Amanda that you experienced several issues on your holiday that you felt you needed to report.  We can only apologies and say feedback from guests, both good and critical, is important to us so we can continue to improve the accommodation that we offer. The drains are checked regularly but unfortunately there was an issue with them in the adjacent caravan park which was rectified as soon as we were made aware of it. We give guests the option to bring their own bedding and towels or pay extra so  that the baseline price for your holiday is kept to a minimum and is extremely good value for the Abersoch area. Regular guests have welcomed this option. We have continued to keep written information packs online post COVID and will be updating and relaunching a hard copy in each apartment shortly which will include updated information about the site. I apologies that the barn with a badminton net and table tennis table did not meet your expectations Thank-you for reporting about the mold as it hadn't been spotted by previous guests or cleaners. This will be rectified immediately Janet Bolton   Property Owner

About the location

ABERSOCH

Pwllheli 6 miles.

The attractive harbour village of Abersoch is situated on the Llyn Peninsula in a region of Wales renowned for its outstanding scenery and varied walking. The village, situated between two glorious bays, is one of the most popular sailing venues in North Wales and important sailing regattas are held there throughout the summer months. Numerous shops cater for the tourist as well as pubs, restaurants and cafes. There are also opportunities for golfers as there is a course just outside the village and horse riding facilities are also available nearby. Watersports enthusiasts are also well catered for, particularly windsurfing, water skiing and dinghy sailing, not to mention renowned surfing at Port Neigwl (Hell’s Mouth). The long, sandy Abersoch Main Beach is probably the most popular beach in the area. There is a wonderful selection of beaches in the surrounding area of the Llyn Peninsula, including the beautiful and often quiet Porth Ceriad, with it's high cliffs, and sandy Porth Oer ("Whistling Sands"). Most of the coastline is owned by the National Trust and there are many remote bays, sandy beaches and cliffs, as well as wildlife havens like Bardsey Island to explore.
