"Can not recommend this property highly enough!"
We arrived to find it beautifully clean and welcoming, everything we could need from toiletries, dishwasher tablets, towels, kitchen utensils, tea, coffee, sugar etc to a bottle of rose waiting on the table for us! The cottage it's self is stunning and felt so cosy. The children had the best time, especially our daughter who claimed the gorgeous attic room for herself! Our dog was happy and relaxed and the scenery was stunning. We will 100% be coming back to stay.

Lovely cottage ,lovely surroundings just a shame about the cars covered in green moss across from it looked like they had never been moved for years and no local shop

"We had a lovely stay at Dolydd terrace, clean tidy accommodation, floors a little creaky upstairs but it is a old cottage and the sinks were a little slow draining but overal a nice place to stay and lots of things to visit within a hours drive including the coast, also some lovely walks from the house and the heritage railway runs behind the house to the coast is well worth a visit."
Thanks for a lovely holiday

"The holiday cottage was great."
Very clean and tidy, not tatty like some places. the photos are very accurate too in how the cottage has been furnished. We’d definitely go back to the same cottage. Go-below was 2 mins away, white water rafting 25mins, the mountain bike place 10mins, Watkins trail (snowdon) 20mins, one of the zip-world places 5 mins. Plenty of walks directly out of the cottage too. Don’t forget the local cafe, Kiki - Friday Greek Evening

"Lovely cottage."
Had everything we needed. We found the cottage to be clean and tidy on arrival. Small gift of biscuits from the owners was a nice touch. Perfect location for exploring Snowdonia.
-
"Very enjoyable break."
The views from Tangrisiau are fantastic. Mountains and old slate works and the lake. It is a short walk to the Cwymorthin Waterfall above the village and on up into the quarry and llyn which are tremendous. The cottage itself was very clean and comfortable with all the necessary items provided and plenty of room. The area outside of the front door is great to sit and have a drink. Parking is right outside and we never had a problem getting a space. It is easy to travel south to Dolgellau or take the coast road to Harlech and Barmouth. North takes you to Snowdonia via a very pretty route. Thoroughly recommend and we hope to come back later in the year.

"Great little cottage, great location as a base."
Stairs to the top bedroom are steep, but a lovely cosy hide away. No back garden, but didn’t need it as we were out every day. Good communication from the owner.

i.e. Cheap cutlery, no egg cups, not enough towels.

"Had a lovely stay over Christmas 2016."
The cottage had some decorations and we were even provided with a roasting tin for our turkey. The location and kitchen facilities were excellent, exactly what we were looking for! Whilst it didn't cause us a problem, the laminate floors and creaky doors were quite loud when other members of the party got up during up the night, this may disturb light sleepers but wouldn't stop me from staying there again.

The property
A warm and welcoming, terraced cottage situated in the pretty Welsh village of Tanygrisiau, just over a mile from the popular town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park.
This is an ideal cottage for families or friends looking to explore all that this fabulous area has to offer.
Located on a residential lane set near stunning scenery and lakeside walks, this charming cottage provides homely accommodation and boasts an open fire in the sitting room, perfect for those cosier nights in.
The spacious kitchen with modern spotlighting is well equipped and offers a comfy dining area for those leisurely breakfasts, whilst planning your day ahead.
Three cosy bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs complete this delightful cottage.
Outside there is an enclosed front patio which enjoys a sunny aspect for most of the day and provides a nice area to sit and enjoy an early morning cuppa, whilst enjoying the surrounding countryside views.
There are an abundance of pretty walks to waterfalls and around lakes, cycle paths and mountain bike tracks, all available from the doorstep, making this a great family base.
For train enthusiasts the Ffestiniog Steam Railway is close by, and can be heard as it passes by behind the cottage.
Zip World Titan and Caverns, the longest 4-man zip in Europe, and Bounce Below, an underground trampolining experience, and the magnificent slate caverns at Llechwedd, are also nearby.
There really is something for everyone.
The North Wales coast is easily accessible too, and other attractions such as Portmeirion with its Italianate village and gardens, and many historic castles are just a short drive away.
Staying at this lovely cottage means you can enjoy exploring both coast and country at any time of the year.
About the location
TANYGRISIAU
Blaenau Ffestiniog 1.1 miles; Porthmadog 8 miles; Betws-y-Coed 15 miles; Beddgelert 16 miles.
Tanygrisiau, meaning "below the steps", refers to the stepped cliffs above this traditional Welsh village. The Moelwyn mountains protect the village from much of the northerly gales in the winter, and give it a pleasant southerly aspect with relatively mild weather considering its location high in Snowdon. The village stands amongst dramatic scenery, and Tanygrisiau is a good starting point for many walks, especially if your intention is to climb Moelwyn itself. Tanygrisiau was famous for its slate mining, producing a high quality black slate that was used across the world. Tanygrisiau railway station is on the famous Ffestiniog Railway, a narrow gauge railway built to carry slate from the mines down to the sea at Porthmadog; today it is a renowned tourist attraction providing stunning views on its trip to the coast. Only 1.1 miles away is Blaenau Ffestiniog, once the capital of slate quarrying and in the 18th century known as the "City of Slate". The town stands in an elevated, natural bowl amidst this mountainous region and has a good variety of shops and pubs, but is best known for its tourist attractions. One of the old quarries is now the renowned Llechwedd Slate Cavern. The famous narrow gauge Ffestiniog Railway provides wonderful trips through spectacular countryside. Enjoy superb walks and bike trails at Coed-y-Brenin, one of the best mountain bike centres in Britain, as well as good climbing at the Plas y Brenin National Mountain Centre, wonderful sandy beaches, or great fishing or golf. Visit delightful Betws-y-Coed, the Italianate Village at Portmeirion, or Bala, with its renowned white water rafting opportunities.
