  • "Lovely location with , steep stepped, access to the Beach."

Cottage is beautiful and well furnished. Kitchen is well finished but it was a tad disappointing to find no (kitchen) cleaning products or dishwasher tablets. A building site very adjacent to the cottage was a surprise , with an occasional rant / bad language being overheard. Once or twice a day we had a telehandler drive by with materials but on the whole the site didn’t spoil our time at the cottage. ( I do think we ought to have been made aware of the site , as for some it might be a deal breaker) . Would we book again? Yes , definitely.

  • "Stayed for a week early September, beautiful property with everything you need and more for a very comfortable and relaxing stay."

There is free onsite parking, outdoor seating, beautiful outlook, good location for walks from the doorstep and a great base for those wishing to visit beautiful Anglesey and other nearby areas as we did, we had fantastic weather too which was perfect! We walked along the beach to Beaumauris a few times to see it's beautiful castle, individual shops, pubs and restaurants. I would highly recommend this property and would definitely stay again.

  • "My feedback is well documented through a complaint we submitted on return (but also via Instagram with Menai Holidays before we checked out)."

It's about the accuracy of the listing primarily, and the lack of sleep we had due to poor mattress and pillows. The cottage itself is contemporary and well presented, the towels were fluffy and large, it was clean on arrival - some minor maintenance issues, but nothing major. EV charging point was a God-send having just bought an electric vehicle. However, the main reason for booking was the claim that it was near a beach. That is absolutely not a beach that can be used in the same way as, for example, Newborough or Red Wharf Bay. More mud and rocks with two small patches of sand - one far too small to use near the car park and one inaccessible with a 9 year old. It was suggested we could walk 10 minutes up the lane - on a busy road with no pavements at either side - with a child, beach equipment and lunch!

Hi Linda. Both Menai and I have responded formally to your complaint which was only submitted directly before check out. As I have said, I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy the location but as stated there is access to a small sandy beach (obviously dependent upon the tide) directly across the road via steps. I’m sorry you didn’t find these steps but had you brought this to my attention earlier during your stay then I would have directed you to the steps. Other reviewers of properties next to us have commented that the beach is beautiful so I suppose it’s down to personal preference but as both I and Menai have stated the listing has been reviewed and is accurate. The bed is an orthopaedic mattress so again I think it’s down to personal preference and maybe personally the mattress was too hard for you. Pillows are soft so again down to personal preference. As for the roads, many of the roads throughout Anglesey don’t have pavements. Anglesey is a walking heaven but there is nothing we can do about the lack of pavements. I suppose Anglesey is just not a place for you. I’m so sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay Property Owner

Apart from the terrible weather it was a great stay. Perfect location to explore the beautiful areas of North Wales.

Accuracy of location details not good, post code and what 3 words took us to caravan park - a few sentences to describe this and location would be so helpful

Hi Stuart. Thank you for your kind review. I have taken on board your comments and will look to place better directions to the cottage. I agree the postcode navigation is not the best. I’m glad however that you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

This is just the most idyllic place, a stones throw form the beach, has everything you need for the most comfortable stay We stayed with our 2 children and they loved it Thank you very much

Hi Helen. Thank you for your lovely review. We are biased but totally agree with you. It’s a beautiful location for walking and a quick stroll from the beach. I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay. ☺️ Property Owner

  • "Location good but did not appreciate being on a site that was still being built ."

Unable to enjoy sitting outside the cottage because of noise from work being undertaken i.e. hammering , cement mixer going , reversing alarms on lorries and on one day drilling next door as they installed a new fireplace. We had a ladder and large boxes propped up against our garden fence. The photographs of the cottage made it appear larger than it actually was , no TV reception in one of the bedrooms and feel it was over-priced

I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay but I have to say that I am surprised at your comments. The site is complete save for a large manor house to the front right side of the development. The site entrance and road to the manor house is completely separate and it does not form part of the overall development. The work being carried out to this property are internal works and there is not a stream of lorries arriving such that would constantly affect your enjoyment of the property and being able to sit outside. The photographs of the cottage have not been edited in any way and they are as is. It is a 2 bedroom cottage as advertised and the photos correctly show the size. I am sorry you feel it is over priced but our prices reflect the position of the property, private parking available and the sea views. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely week at Lleiniog."

The cottage is beautifully furnished to a very high standard with everything you need for a great stay. Lovely views from upstairs windows. There is some building work being completed across from the cottage but this had no impact on our stay. The cottage is around 2.5 miles out of Beaumaris. There is not much around the complex of cottages and you will need to travel into Beaumaris for the nearest pub or shop. We had our little dog with us and yes she could easily get through the metal fencing at the front but it wasn’t a problem if we kept an eye on her when she was outside. Definitely a cottage to be recommended

Thank you for your kind review. I am really glad that you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to you returning in the future. Property Owner

  • "Whilst we felt the property was really pleasant, we were quite disappointed in the following: - No dishcloth No washing up liquid or dishwasher tabs No egg cups Double bed very uncomfortable, would be great if there was some memory foam."

The outdoor cushions were in a shed store, took 20 minutes to find the key as it was on a really high shelf. Building works going on opposite, would’ve been nice to have a pre warning. No welcome pack Property advertised as in Beaumaris so you only find out it’s Penmon wen booking confirmed.

Thank you for your review. We have taken on board your comments. A welcome pack is available at an additional cost. The property is actually advertised as Penmon before booking is complete. Property Owner

  • "Cottage lovely very clean and cozy, although there was a couple of items missing from the kitchen which we thought should be essential ie a teapot and bread knife."

Limited towels only 1 per person. Garden/patio lovely to sit in on an evening although there is a gas heater, gas wasn’t provided ! we were expected to buy it from garage down the road, and there wasn’t a rack in the bbq so couldn’t be used. which was very disappointing as we like to spend our time outdoors and the weather was so nice. There was still building work going on opposite which isn’t going to be finished very soon, but they didn’t disturb us. Saying this we did enjoy our week in the cottage and Anglesey is such a gorgeous part of Wales we’re sure to come back.

Thank you for your kind review. We have taken on board your comments. The BBQ rack is in the garden store. We look forward to welcoming you again in the future Property Owner

  • "Wonderful cottage."

Beautiful location. We have a toy poodle that easily stepped through the openings of the rather lovely wrought iron fence so dog owners of small dogs should beware. Courtyard perfect to sit and have coffee BUT we were not happy when 8am Monday morning the builders arrived with Lorries, dumper trucks and loud music to continue the build directly in front of us all week! Felt the fee for the cottage was rather high considering the inconvenience of having to share our holiday with builders! We probably would not have booked if we knew this was happening.

Thank you for your kind review. The development is finished but there is a large house to the front right of the property (not directly in front), which has internal works being done to it in order to renovate it. The entrance to this property is from the main road and is completely separate to the development. We have stayed ourselves this last week and there was minimal noise and no music. We were sat out most of the time because of the lovely weather. We do hope that you will return to our lovely cottage in the future. Property Owner

  • "Disappointed not to be told there is building work going on on-site, occasionally vehicles parked making it difficult to access the parking place outside the house as we would return to the house during the day."

Window on front door clear glazing denying privacy, anyone could look through and see us and/or personal belongings not to mention any ‘peeping Tom’ at night as the site is isolated and off a road, we felt the need to cover the window from dusk to the morning. Positively, lovely property with all facilities available, we would definitely book to stay again as it is in one of our favourite places and as a Welsh person it is nice to be close to a Welsh community. Always a warm welcome. PS Inadvertently brought back the tea towel (I had taken my own), it will be washed and posted back to the property if the cleaning services could please check the post box.

Thank you for your review. There was building work going on only to the rear of the site. This is a separate site, served by a separate road. We are informed by the Builders that this work is now complete. There are two clearly marked parking spaces for Lleiniog Cottage. They are marked "Private Parking Lleiniog Cottage". We are aware that on rare occasions these spaces have been used by other guests of other cottages or people visiting but they should not be as they are allocated to this cottage. We are glad you have enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you again in the future. Thank you for returning the tea towel Property Owner

About the location

BEAUMARIS

Menai Bridge 4 miles.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.
