It is gorgeous . There is a covered pergola type terrace covering the front of the house with a sitting out area and it is beautifully planted . We spent most of our time out there as it was so lovely.
Thank you for your lovely feedback, I also love the garden and the outside area. It is very relaxing to sit outside with a cup of tea (or a glass of wine) even when it’s raining. Thank you also for leaving the cottage very tidy. It’s definitely appreciated. Xx

"It was ok. Cobwebs need cleaning and it should be categorically stated this cottage it not suitable for under 5's as no stair gates and trip hazards for 1 year old."
One tea towel..not lids for all pans.
Oh dear I’m so very sorry that you found our cottage to not be your ideal holiday location. We do want our guests to enjoy their break and we are so thankful and lucky that we have so many returning guests with and without children of all ages who feel it does tick their box. So we do feel sad that you didn’t enjoy things fully and were upset that their was no stair gate. Unfortunately as I explained when you requested one a couple of days prior to your arrival, the stairs are not suitable to safely have one fitted and this is why one is not listed as an available facility on the Sykes site. We were a little concerned when we found you had emptied our linen storage cupboard of all spare mats and fleeces as we had left everything ready for you. Luckily while you were doing so you managed to find extra tea towels.I have to point out also that you did leave a large amount of opened food in the kitchen so I do hope you didn’t miss this once home! Regarding any cobwebs, well we endeavour to thoroughly dust and cobweb the interior of the cottage after each guest. We are aware that there are daily webs under the outside canopy, which agin is dusted after each guest but as the garden is a mature cottage garden we are unable to stop spiders visiting. Country life I’m afraid. Thank you for taking the time to review us and we do hope that you enjoy the rest of the summer and find a holiday destination that you enjoy in the future.

"We had a very enjoyable stay."
The property is spacious with more than enough room for 4 people although there were only 2 of us and Betsy the dog.
Facilities are very good, the property lively and clean and warm and welcoming. The only small downside is the downstairs bathroom which when you are of a certain age the toilet breaks in the night are a bit of a bind, but credit to the owners torches and night light are a help.
We would definitely recommend the property and location and would 100% come back.
Thank you for your kind feedback. Would it be possible to advise me how I can improve on the comfort and the facilities of the cottage as I like to make my guests stay as comfortable as possible. One of the nicest cottages I've stayed in, in a great village with a fab pub and very close to Hornsea and Bridlington. The bedrooms were bright and airy with plenty of wardrobe space. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable which seems to be a rarity these days!

"Upon arrival, we found the property to be clean & comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed our stay."
The weather was good to us and there were lots of places to visit nearby. The only problems we found were that the property needs either darker blinds or a set of dark curtains in the bedrooms, due to light coming through early in the morning and the pub was closed (not the owners fault and the poor landlords) but this would not stop us visiting again.
Thank you for your feedback, I’m glad you enjoyed your stay. I’m having the cottage decorated in October and am looking at putting a blackout roller blind behind the blinds in the bedroom to stop the light coming through.
I have also just found out that the pub is having a refurbishment and will be open again in a few weeks which is good news. Regards Debbie

Very quiet, not a lot to do in the village but within easy reach of Hornsea, Bridlington, Beverley. Normally only a short walk to the beach but due to a landslide access to the beach was not possible which was disappointing. Loved the pink front door!
