The property

Staithes 2 miles.

Nestled in the quaint village of Easington just outside the seaside village of Staithes in North Yorkshire, is this beautiful stone-fronted property, situated in the North Yorkshire Moors an area of outstanding beauty and is an international dark sky reserve.

Retaining a lot of character with its beamed ceilings and crackling open-fire, this Yorkshire cottage is idyllic for a family of four seeking a rural break.

Leave your vehicle in an off-road parking space before making your way inside to discover the sitting room, where you can curl up with a hot chocolate and escape into a good book.

There is also a reclining for extra comfortStepping through the property, find the compact kitchen area, certain to entice budding chefs with its electric oven and hob and when dinner is dished, join together in the dining room to tuck-in.

When the sun is shining, carry the conversation out onto the patio, which also offers a barbecue to rustle up a burger; why not savour a glass of wine as your furry friend stretches their legs?

As the evening grows cool, retire inside and climb upstairs for a hot bubble bath before choosing between a double and a twin bedroom, both with furniture to house your belongings.

For a blend of country and coast, enjoy a stay at The Cottage.

Ings Farm Cottages

Staithes 2 miles. Situated in a rural position on the coastal road between Staithes and Saltburn in the North York Moors National Park, these three holiday cottages are located just a couple of miles from the coast. Boasting extensive moorland views, these delightful cottages have been tastefully renovated from old farm buildings and retain both charm and character. Each of these cottages have been traditionally furnished to offer comfortable accommodation for a couple, family or group of friends. There are outdoor areas where you can dine alfresco or enjoy a relaxing drink after a day exploring the area. There’s plenty to do nearby with the historic fishing village of Staithes to explore with its narrow, cobbled streets and cottages tumbling down towards the harbour, whilst countryside and coastal walks, including the popular Cleveland Way clifftop trail can be enjoyed. The old spa resort of Saltburn boasts fine sandy beaches, pretty ornamental gardens and tempting tea rooms and restaurants, plus take a stroll along the pier or walk the elevated promenade with glorious views of the bay. With the popular town of Whitby an easy drive away and the North York Moors on the doorstep, these cottages near Staithes offer something for everyone.

Where you’ll be staying

STAITHES

Whitby 10 miles.

The charming and sleepy seaside village of Staithes, with its cobbled streets and back alleys, is something of an artist’s dream. Its pretty houses and cottages are clustered around the old harbour and surrounded by high craggy cliffs on three sides, with a sheltered sandy beach set amongst the rocky coastline. The village can claim connections with Captain Cook who was apprenticed to a draper near the harbour. Nowadays, Staithes is a must for anyone visiting the Yorkshire Coast and has a good selection of pubs, shops and tea rooms. Staithes is still home to an RNLI lifeboat station and a small fleet of cobles (fishing boats) landing fish, crab and lobster, with boat trips for birdwatching, fishing and even whale watching available. It’s also the location of the popular BBC children’s TV series, Old Jack’s Boat. Staithes has a strong attraction for artists, with an annual Art and Heritage Festival, galleries and artists studios with art courses and workshops regularly on offer. There’s a free Illusion Trail, which guides visitors around the network of ginnels (alleyways), with trail guides available locally. The best views of the town can be enjoyed from the Cleveland Way which runs down the cliff to the sea’s edge. Altogether a superb base for exploring the Yorkshire Coast, visiting the larger resorts of Whitby or Scarborough and enjoying the moorland villages of the North York Moors National Park.
