  • "A lovely property on the edge of Guisborough, quiet, homely and perfect for a large family stay."

It’s a 15 minute walk to the centre and also has country walks right on the doorstep - ideal for our dog. The garden is beautiful and very well maintained.

  • "Our 2nd year staying at Clover Leaf."

A proper family home. Everything you need. Flowers, wine and cake are a nice touch. Thank you. Beautiful garden, apple tree , brambles etc. garden furniture, summer house (but this needs a good clean, cobwebs, very dusty etc.) The garden is a sun trap. Beautiful views of Guisborough Forest from the bedroom window. Hope to be back next year. A big thank you to the owners.

  • "This is a lovely home away from home."

We’ve stayed here two years in a row for 2 weeks each time. It is such a comfortable place to stay with every facility you might require and close to all amenities. Clean, with well kept garden and very comfortable

  • "This house worked perfectly for our multi generational family holiday."

The house is really well proportioned so felt really roomy. There was a library of books to read. Lovely enclosed garden. The kitchen had everything you could need. We were delighted to find it also has a dishwasher that is not in the listing. We enjoyed the welcome pack, thank you. Guisborough was an unexpected delight with easy access to surrounding areas, whether on foot or by car. We hope to return.

  • "Lovely clean house, beautiful garden secure for our dog."

The facilities are great. Set on the outskirts of Guiseborough but near enough to walk to shops, pubs and cafes. Easy driving to the coast and walks on the doorstep. The only thing we would add is a clothes horse or somewhere to dry wet clothes. Thank you for the wine and cake it was much appreciated.

  • "House is lovely, large and full of character, wouldn't hesitate staying here again."

Beds were comfy. Garden is large and would be wonderful to spend some time in it if the weather would allow, only downside is it isn't fully secure if you have a dog. Lovely walks straight from the door step. Town is about a 10 min walk, with some nice enough pubs, restaurants and plenty of takeaways. Would definitely return.

  • "My granddaughter was with me."

She is allergic to dogs so the first thing we do on arrival at dog friendly premises is have a look to ensure it has been well cleaned to remove dog hair. It was clear it had been well cleaned and it let us relax and enjoy our stay.

  • "This is a well cared for, spacious house and we would recommend it very highly."

Everything you need is provided, large towels , comfortable beds, all kitchen utensils needed, spacious well kept garden and a comfortable lounge. We did have one huge problem in that there was no key in the key lock. And after driving 350 miles it was the last thing we needed. Both phone numbers did not work. Luckily we got through to Sykes and eventually 2.5 hours later got in the house. But we did spend most of that time worrying about where to stay that night and possibly the weekend! It took me a couple of days to get over. So I would suggest calling both numbers in advance but do book. Corinne

About the location

GUISBOROUGH

Saltburn-by-the-Sea 6 miles; Staithes 13 miles; Whitby 21 miles.

Guisborough is an attractive market town set in rural surroundings on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Steeped in history, Guisborough is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the town's most notable feature is the beautiful ruined abbey, Gisborough Priory; standing in full glory, to its original height of 97 feet, the dramatic gothic east gable towers high over the market town and has become a well-known icon of the town. This bustling small town has twice-weekly market days, a good selection of eateries, excellent pubs and many independent shops. Around Guisborough sits the spectacular woodland of Guisborough Forest. Guisborough Forest & Walkway is situated in Pinchinthorpe on the outskirts of Guisborough at the northern end of the A173. It extends for 2.5 miles along part of the route followed by the old Guisborough Branch Railway line, heading west towards Nunthorpe, and east to Guisborough Forest, which is managed by Forest Enterprise. It is a gateway site to the North York Moors National Park and offers splendid views of Roseberry Topping to the south. Points of local interest include Highcliff Nab and Hanging Stone. Captain Cook 92s Monument is also within walking distance. The Cleveland Way and the Tees Link walks pass through Guisborough Forest, and are just two of the many walking routes easily accessible to visitors. This super country park has cycle trails, walking routes, bridleways, a trim trail and an easier sculpture trail. The park includes the Guisborough Walkway which runs along the former trackbed of the Middlesbrough to Whitby railway line. This includes a wetland area with boardwalks, woodlands and grasslands. You can also climb Highcliff Nab for fabulous views of Teeside and the coast. The park is also very popular with mountain bikers with a number of super trails to explore. There is an excellent visitor centre with full details of all the trails in the park. The long distant trail of the Cleveland Way passes close by, whilst nearby Roseberry Topping is well worth the climb to take in the spectacular views. An easy thirty minute drive brings you to the Heritage Coastline, with historic villages and resorts, including Staithes, Saltburn and Whitby to enjoy.
