  • "Beautiful little cottage within the bustling market town of Guisborough."

Plenty of bedroom space although the living space a little tight to accommodate 5 as advertised. Perfect for the two of us and two dogs. Would highly recommended. Perfect fo exploring the beautiful Yorkshire coastline.

  • "Nice cosy house in the centre of town."

Very clean and warm with great wet room shower. Lots of space as there was only 2 of us (plus 4 small dogs). Lots to do in the area so will come back and stay again.

  • "We had a lovely time staying at Red Grouse Cottage whilst visiting family and friends."

The cottage is conveniently situated on Westgate close by to pubs, cafes and supermarkets. There are plenty of walks and a dog friendly park nearby. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated and reflect the exposed stone brick work. We enjoyed sitting in the garden and the wood burner was a central point in the evening. We highly recommend this property and look forward to staying ant Red Grouse Cottage again.

  • "The cottage was perfectly located and had everything we required."

Nice welcome pack when we arrived. The only issue was the property needed to be vacuumed when we arrived as there was a tablet on the attic bedroom floor and was dusty ( maybe due to a late booking) We loved the log burner, and the local people and neighbours were so friendly we would definitely return.

Thanks for your kind feedback We shall take extra care in future regarding cleanliness - your short notice booking might be a reason but our apologies for the lapse We look forward to host you again Red Grouse Cottage Team Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage, very well equipped with everything you need for a self catering stay."

Two minutes walk into the bustling market town of Guisborough with plenty of shops, pubs and eateries. Larger supermarkets such as Morrisons, Aldi and M & S food hall within walking distance. Only downside is that it is on a main road into the town and therefor you do get the noise of traffic and late night revellers returning from the local pubs but having said that would not hesitate to return to this little gem.

The cottage is in a prime location for the main high street with the added advantage of permit parking so this was never a problem. We enjoyed the log burner as the weather wasn't so great but the cottage is beautiful. We slept very well too

  • "Lovely cottage situated on the main street of Guisborough."

Obviously recently refurbished. It had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay (utensils brand new and some items unused and still in their original packaging) The box of crisps and packet of biscuits were a welcome treat. The king-sized bed on the first floor was comfy with plump pillows and fresh smelling bedding. The shower in the wet room was a delight with the choice of a rainfall or handheld shower head. The towels were lovely and fluffy. The location of the cottage couldn't be better to enjoy the shops and eateries of Guisborough. I would recommend the bakery which sells delicious slices of cake to take away. Also Cookfellas wine bar & eatery which serves freshly cooked meals and is dog friendly. Would happily stay here again if visiting the area.

If you have dogs cannot get out beautiful summer house at the bottom which is lovely to sit in barbecue set for you if you wanted to barbecue and a beautiful table and with six chairs. About the location

GUISBOROUGH

Saltburn-by-the-Sea 6 miles; Staithes 13 miles; Whitby 21 miles.

Guisborough is an attractive market town set in rural surroundings on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Steeped in history, Guisborough is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the town's most notable feature is the beautiful ruined abbey, Gisborough Priory; standing in full glory, to its original height of 97 feet, the dramatic gothic east gable towers high over the market town and has become a well-known icon of the town. This bustling small town has twice-weekly market days, a good selection of eateries, excellent pubs and many independent shops. Around Guisborough sits the spectacular woodland of Guisborough Forest. Guisborough Forest & Walkway is situated in Pinchinthorpe on the outskirts of Guisborough at the northern end of the A173. It extends for 2.5 miles along part of the route followed by the old Guisborough Branch Railway line, heading west towards Nunthorpe, and east to Guisborough Forest, which is managed by Forest Enterprise. It is a gateway site to the North York Moors National Park and offers splendid views of Roseberry Topping to the south. Points of local interest include Highcliff Nab and Hanging Stone. Captain Cook 92s Monument is also within walking distance. The Cleveland Way and the Tees Link walks pass through Guisborough Forest, and are just two of the many walking routes easily accessible to visitors. This super country park has cycle trails, walking routes, bridleways, a trim trail and an easier sculpture trail. The park includes the Guisborough Walkway which runs along the former trackbed of the Middlesbrough to Whitby railway line. This includes a wetland area with boardwalks, woodlands and grasslands. You can also climb Highcliff Nab for fabulous views of Teeside and the coast. The park is also very popular with mountain bikers with a number of super trails to explore. There is an excellent visitor centre with full details of all the trails in the park. The long distant trail of the Cleveland Way passes close by, whilst nearby Roseberry Topping is well worth the climb to take in the spectacular views. An easy thirty minute drive brings you to the Heritage Coastline, with historic villages and resorts, including Staithes, Saltburn and Whitby to enjoy.
