"The property is lovely, nicely furnished and in a good location for the many amenities of Boroughbridge, including pubs, shops and dog walks."
However, there are a number of issues with it:
- the worst one is the hit and miss nature of the WiFi. One could occasionally download emails and WhatApp messages and access Google and the signal was never strong enough to download newspapers, watch iPlayer or any other internet TV. It is the worst WiFi of any property we have ever stayed at.
- the coffee machine would not work without descaling but the disc to enable this was missing. So we had no coffee for the entire 3 weeks.
- there is no chopping board or breadknife, despite this being reported by previous guests.
- the fitted sheet in the main bedroom did not fit the bed. It was too small to stay on overnight.
We made two calls to Sykes early in our stay about both the WiFi and the coffee machine but nobody came back to us and both issues remained a problem throughout our stay.

"Lovely property, fixtures and fittings very high quality."
Beds comfortable, lovely big televisions in each room. Showers very good. Good position for dog walking and shops. Booked canoeing in the river which worked really well. No issues with parking, had designated space and other car parked in visitors spot. Would definitely recommend the property.

"This was our second stay at this lovely and luxuriously appointed apartment and we were pleased to see that our review from our previous visit (May 2023) had been acted on - kettle and pillow issues now resolved."
There remain however several irritations in this luxury and not inexpensive apartment. There were 5 guests staying in an apartment accommodating 6 people. Only 4 towels, 4 bowls and no bedding provided for the sofa bed (this happened last time so we were prepared with our own bedding). Not equipping the apartment with basic crockery, utensils and linen for the maximum number of guests it accommodates is however inexcusable. We have been in the holiday letting business ourselves for over 20 years and always over supply on cutlery, crockery and glasses to accommodate the inevitable breakages. We also missed the following kitchen basics - bread board, bread knife, grater & chopping board.
The Internet was non existent - we couldn't get the TV or anything to work without hot spotting to our phones. I see this has been raised in other reviews but remains an issue and difficulty for anyone needing to work whilst away.
We also had the same experience as other guests in relation to parking. On arrival we parked our two cars in tandem in space 6 to unload. We did not use the other apartment vacant spaces, we were not blocking anything but within half an hour we had a nasty and passive aggressive sticker on our windscreen. Not the owners fault but I think the listing could be more explicit about the parking challenges on site, near the apartment and in the town generally. Had we not tandem parked temporarily unloading with a child and elderly parent would have been impossible. A suggestion perhaps would be to provide a disc for town parking for the use of guests - we have had this in the past in other properties we have rented and it certainly alleviated the parking stress on arrival.
Hello we are glad that the issues you had on your first stay at the penthouse did not deter you from rebooking. We are sorry you had encountered further issues. We do provide bedding for the sofabed and going forward it will be clearly marked where the bedding is kept. Also there should be enough crockery utensils etc as you can appreciate being in the holiday letting business that there are breakages and items do go missing. We always endeavour to make our guest stay as comfortable as possible. We have made notes of the issues and will get them recified.

"The property was beautiful and in a lovely place, it had everything we needed and was presented really well."
We only had 2 issues, the first being parking. On the listing it states there's one space for the property and the rest are first come first serve - they aren't. We had angry notes left on our cars from residents stating we needed to move them. So we took the visitors spot and also parked across the road (just something to keep in mind if you have 3 cars)
Also we booked our stay for 6 people and only enough towels for 4 were left out, the help feature on the app didn't work (not the owners fault) and the contact numbers sheet had been put in a cupboard, so we only found it on the last day. It just meant we had to go and buy towels which isn't ideal when it says they're included.
We saw some comments about pillows being uncomfortable but this wasn't the case, everything seemed brand new and the main beds were lovely and very comfortable but the pull out bed was very hard so keep that in mind if you're using that.
The internet and WiFi is also fine, no issues on our part.
All in all a lovely stay.

"We had a lovely time."
The only issue I found was the discomfort of the pillows, I understand you need to keep them clean but maybe use/washing has made them matt together. Simplist solution would be for holiday makers to bring their own.

"Fantastic property, finished to a high standard."
Comfy beds and pillow and all items a self catering property needs. The upstairs toilet room was helpful. We loved the space the apartment had. We would definitely recommend and would love to stay again sometime. Thank you.

"Absolutly beautiful property, immaculately clean lovely comfy bed and pillows."
Having the cloakroom upstairs was a real bonus. Very well equipped, if I had to nitpick they need a chopping board. Other than that we were well pleased with it, and would definitely stay there again. Another plus it was in the village, close to all the amenities.

"Lovely property."
Great Village to visit and close to many attractions. Comfortable beds and spacious living area. Only downside is the bathrooms are quite small, but there are 2, one being ensuite. Clock room upstairs which is very convenient. Wonderful stay unfortunately cut short due to illness. Would love to visit there again.

"This is a stylish and beautifully presented apartment where we spent a lovely family weekend."
Beautiful bathrooms, very comfortable beds and lovely open plan living area. Plentiful pillows but sadly all 8 on offer were far too hard to be useful so we had to resort to cushions. The lack of a traditional kettle is both perplexing and frustrating - particularly in the county of Yorkshire tea! Compared with other properties we have stayed in this one was lacking in instructions - presumably the coffee maker could have dispensed hot water for tea? It would also be helpful to make it clear in the property details that bedding is not provided for the sofa bed - luckily I checked before leaving home but had a mad dash to sort this out before leaving home.

We have taken on board the issues you had while at the property. We do now offer a choice of pillows to suit everyone. There is a hot tap to make hot drinks unfortunately it looks like someone has removed the instructions so we will get it replaced. Also there is bedding that should of been left for you for the sofa bed. We are really sorry for the issues you had.
