  • "We had a fabulous week here, the bungalow was spotlessly clean, quiet and the garden secure and dog friendly."

A pleasant 15 minute stroll takes you into the town for shopping or visiting the fabulous Pickering station to watch the steam trains come and go. These’s a lovely 2 mile virtually traffic free walk through the stunning country side from the very end of the road which is ideal for walking the dog. Goathland and Whitby are about a half hour drive away or there is the scenic route across the moors with spectacular views and a couple of stopping off points where you can park up and go for a walk. The bungalow is spacious, the kitchen has everything you need apart from maybe a bread bin, the beds comfortable and the welcome basket was excellent. We had a single rainy day so spent a few happy hours in the comfort of the summer house. We did have a puncture up on the moors but the garage on the local trading estate just around the corner were very helpful and had the tyre repaired in no time. The fish and chip shop in the town do some excellent food, it gets quite busy but well worth the wait and as its in walking distance no need to try to park, definitely recommended. Kirbymoorside is a short drive to the West, Thornton Le Dale an even shorter drive to the East. There is a convenience store within the local petrol station which is a few hundred yards away on the main road which is useful for bits and bobs. We will definitely be staying here again in the not too distant future.

Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to write such a wonderful and detailed feedback. It is very much appreciated and helpful. Delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay and holiday. And, all the valuable suggestions. A bread bin is now on order Property Owner

The bungalow is immaculate and tastefully decorated, the Christmas tree and decorations were a lovely addition. The bungalow is very Cosy and only a short walk into Pickering. I do not think the pictures or the information provided are accurate, the bungalow is way better than described! There are 3 tvs , Netflix, YouTube and freeview channels which is great when traveling with a mix age group like we were , coffee machine , good Wi-Fi, a dresser full of books jigsaws and games the outside enclosed garden was very much appreciated with our small doggie and my teenagers loved the pool and table tennis table in the garden . This place is way better than the described I would love to return in the summer . We made some great memories her three generations and a little doggie spending Christmas together.

The bungalow is spacious, cosy and homely. A lovely, quiet area of Pickering and only a 15 minute stroll into town. The kitchen is very well equipped, the lounge is bright and comfortable and the beds were very comfortable indeed. Added bonus of 2 bathrooms, one en suite. The garden is secure and dog friendly, and I loved having my breakfast in the summer house. Especially enjoyed the homemade plum jam, which was included in our welcome basket, and a loaf from Bothams, which is the best bakery. Our doggo was most pleased with his welcome treats too! The bungalow was exceptionally clean, a proper home from home and the owners are really helpful. It was a joy to stay here for our holiday, a great base for the coast and moors, we fell in love with Pickering years ago, and we will obviously be back next year and beyond. Thank you.

  • "This property was perhaps one of the best we've ever stayed in."

The welcome basket was a lovely touch and even a bag of treats for the dog. We're always a bit concerned about winter breaks, that it will be warm enough, but we needn't have worried, we were like toast and no awful draughts. The enclosed garden is really good if you have a dog and was one of the reasons we chose this property. Now we have been though, there was so much more. Games, DVDs, jig saws, books and even Netflix on both TVs. The owners left everything we could possibly need, which doesn't always happen, in a self catering property. Costa Way is about half a mile from Pickering centre and is easily walkable to all the shops. As it's cul d sac the road itself is very quiet with only residents driving past. I had a supermarket delivery on the Saturday we arrived, from my own Asda account, but there is a Lidl in the centre of town. We highly recommend this property and will definitely go back!

It felt warm and cosy throughout our stay. They had even baked for us and made home made jam, all of which was really tasty. Our teenagers appreciated the quality of the smart tv! The internet coped well with all our devices and although we didn't use it there was a well equipped covered games area outside. All in all a great base from which to explore the area.
