"The property was lovely and cosy just right for us with an adjacent parking space very important, good location easy access to all the places we wanted to go."
Only downside was the sofa which seemed to want you not to sit on it as the seat cushions slip forward. otherwise we had everything we needed and a lovely welcome box to boot
Thank you so much for your feedback, we are really glad you had a nice stay & we hope you return in the future.

"Really nice cottage."
Great location and really nice village. Pub near by, butchers, shop and bakers. Short drive into Whitby too and surrounding villages such as Runswick Bay. Good facilities in cottage, clean and well equipped. Only thing would be couch was uncomfortable and could possibly do with a pouffe or something. Not major as always out all day, just for at night when in cottage.
Thank you for your kind feedback. We have now added a pouffe for the sofa.

"Rosemary Cottage is the ideal bolthole for two - very comfortable and well equipped."
It's beautifully decorated and furnished with everything you need and in a great position between the coast and the moors. The village of Sleights also has everything you need - butcher, baker, pub. The only slight niggle we had was the weedy state of the garden in front of the cottage. That aside, we had a wonderful stay - thank you

Nice quiet location and very helpful neighbours. The only mark against it is it could do with a new settee. Other than that no complaints and definitely recommend.

"This one bedroom cottage is in a nice quiet location."
It is fitted out well with all the appliances you would need..however as an older couple ..(late sixties) the stairs were narrow ,quite steep with a turn in them ,making them difficult to negotiate.
The Bed albeit very comfortable was
extremely low and again difficult to get out of.. for us older clients.
The welcome pack was a lovely gesture and much appreciated.
One criticism would be the attention to detail in cleaning..there were a number of areas that could have been cleaner..the drawer in the wahing machine..(now cleaned by us)..the rack in the oven needs a better clean..cobwebs on lights in Bedroom.
But the general tidiness was good.
On the whole we thought that it was lovely but probably better suited to a younger couple.
Hi Terry, thank you so much for your feedback. I’m sorry that you didn’t find the cottage suitable and I apologise that some cleaning jobs were missed. These have now been addressed, thank you for bringing them to our attention. We have now ordered a new bed that isn’t as low, sorry I know this doesn’t benefit you but hopefully will be more suitable for our future guests. Thanks again and I hope you enjoyed your stay aside from the issues you mentioned

"A nice cottage situated in an area that we know and like - fantastic butcher (Radfords) and bakers (Bothams) close by."
And also close to all the places we love - Goathland, Whitby etc.
Neighbour was friendly and welcoming. Quiet area, no disturbance.
The cottage was comfortable and looks to have been well equipped. However some things were a little tired - frying pans worn out, poor knives (all blunt), loose taps. Oven was a bit greasy and smoky when we first used it. The outdoor wheely bin was full on the day we arrived (Friday) with collection not being until the following Thursday. Also no black rubbish sacks in the kitchen.
The bathroom was probably our biggest disappointment - noisy fan (as per previous reviews), very low pressure in the shower and worst of all the bathroom smelled very damp and musty.
The cottage wasn't brilliant for us as we do a lot of outdoor walking in all weathers and there was no outside tap to clean boots and very little space inside the front door to take off/dry footwear and coats. It all got a bit busy and complicated!
Overall though it was 'good' and sufficient, just not very good or excellent. It could be a lot better quite easily with just a little effort.
Thank you for your feedback Steven. I apologise that our cottage didn’t meet your expectations. We try really hard to maintain the property to a high standard to please our guests. I will replace the knives & frying pans, thank you for bringing this to my attention. There are hooks for coats under the stairs and also a shoe rack that you could have used. Regarding the bathroom smell, it’s not something I’ve noticed when doing weekly changeovers but will certainly look into.

"We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage with its own parking space."
We found it very comfortable and well equipped for our needs. The welcome pack was much appreciated, such a nice touch. We would have liked a broom to sweep up with, and maybe a lamp downstairs to provide softer lighting of an evening, but otherwise all good. Sleights is delightful, we especially enjoyed sitting in the garden of the Salmon Leap pub of an evening with the dog. The cottage is very handy for the local buses/trains and all our usual haunts ie Whitby, Goathland, Ruswarp. We would definitely stay here again as it was so very quiet and peaceful (we loved hearing the birds sing in the morning, the owl in the middle of the night, and the steam trains as they passed).
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. We always try to take on board suggestions so we will look to add a lamp and a brush. Thank you & we hope that you book again!

"The cottage was lovely with plenty of light and fresh air in a lovely village setting."
Comfortable apart from the sofa which was too low. Instruction would have been useful for the shower as it seemed to be either too hot or too cold. Local shops very good bakers and butchers and the general store well stocked. Good walking and close to local attractions. North yorkshire moors railway. Whitby etc
Thank you for your lovely feedback. We recently replaced the sofa which we think will be more suitable for guests. We will look to include more instructions in the property information. We hope that you’ll stay again in future.

"On the whole a lovely cottage in a peaceful area."
The welcome pack is a lovely gesture and the cottage is well equipped.
The only negatives are:
1. The settee isn't very comfortable and is a bit low.
2. The bathroom fan is very noisy and goes on too long
We would definitely recommend this cottage to others and hope at some point to return ourselves

"Very good cottage, with a couple of negative comments."
Cups in the cupboard were unwashed….we always bring our own fortunately.
The cottage is “dog friendly” but has no area in which a dog can perform its toilet functions.
We also felt a lighter weight duvet (10.5 tog in use)would be more appropriate in early July,
Thank you for your feedback. We apologise that you found various issues during your stay. We have purchased a summer weight duvet which is available in the wardrobe if it’s too hot for the thicker duvet.
