• "Our 2nd visit to Field Cottage this year under difficult health circumstances this time."

  The owners Alan and Sue were aware and with their kind and considerate manner made our stay all the more welcoming. The perfect location for a relaxing break. It certainly justifies its 5 star rating and all the guest comments in the visitors book. If your looking for somewhere to stay in the area then look no further you wont be disappointed. • "This is our second time here it is absolutely beautiful nothing is too much trouble."

  The owners are really lovely we arrived on our motorbike and were told we could put it in the garage overnight which was fantastic . The location is central to Whitby and all the favourite places to visit and the cottage itself is so homely ,the beds are fantastic it’s nice and peaceful we just didn’t want to leave .

• "A superb cottage to stay in with a lovely outdoor space & comfortable garden furniture."

  A relatively new rental the owners have got everything just right.Modern fittings and fixtures but cosy and homely.The beds and bedding are first class.The kitchen well equipped,but need to take your own coffee machine which we did.There are personal touches throughout which reflect the owners care to detail.We loved the views & the beautiful sunsets.Sue and Alan are great to know & so welcoming. All in all, Superb!

• "After a lovely week at Field Cottage Its difficult to find anything to add that hasn't already been mentioned in reviews and the visitors book."

  Just a lovely bungalow with personal attention from Alan and Sue who live next door. Clean, tidy, well equipped with comfortable divan beds, which is always a bonus when self catering and well maintained gardens. The drive has been updated since the original web site photograph to a lovely resin finish. Nice to see the barn owl hunting over the meadow at the back of the bungalow whilst we were having breakfast. So nice we booked again for October. This bungalow is highly recommended for anyone wishing to explore the local area.

• "Field Cottage is an immaculate holiday property."

  Perfect for 2 persons, although can sleep 4. It is clean, beautifully furnished, modern and decorated to a very high standard. It is light, airy and spacious. It has an immaculate garden front and back with a lovely view beyond. Perfectly located for walking to local shops as well as touring the Moors. We would definitely recommend this property.

• "We had a lovely stay at Field Cottage."

  The cottage was immaculately clean and a home from home. Every effort had been made by the owners to cater for comfort and for guests to have an enjoyable stay. The kitchen was well appointed with everything you could need. The beds were really comfortable. The cottage was in a good location for exploring North Yorkshire and had amenities close by. We would love to return one day.

• "Nice and sizable space inside bungalow."

  The lake of space outside for kids play area is a downside as this was annexed by the owners for their gardening purposes. As they too reside next door to the bungalow, they're constantly in the annexed garden and you will be forgiven for irritabl lake of privacy.

• "We had a month in the bungalow while our house was repaired."

  We found it really comfortable and extremely well furnished and equipped. A lot of thought had gone into the owner's preparations. The place is peaceful and in a beautiful, relaxing setting. Sue and Alan were great, really helpful and kind. We are confident they will continue to do an excellent job. They definitely deserve the 10/10 rating. • "We loved Field Cottage!"

  It has a private drive for the car, shops & pubs in walking distance. Lots to explore in Helmsley & Pickering. A short drive takes you to Scarborough. Now for the cottage, warm, homely, clean, welcoming. Sue messaged to say it was ready early. Milk, orange juice, shortbread & wine were there for us on arrival as were tea, coffee & sugar. Simply ideal & perfect. We can & will recommend Field Cottage and hopefully return there ourselves.

• "What a lovely cottage."

  We felt right at home, our last minute booking was handled with ease. Everything felt good quality. We were lovely and cosy from the heating (and loved all the throws too) the owners couldn’t have been more helpful. We enjoyed trips to Ryedale Folk museum, Flamingo land and Whitby during our stay.

  Wonderful, glad you had a lovely time. Plenty of things to experience and explore so pleased you enjoyed them. Autumn is one of my favourite seasons.
