Not dog safe outside if your dog wanders.Just room for one car to park then table and chairs by front door to sit out (not much space) no privacy from next door .The let down for us was kitchen space as there was no where to store anything we filled up the work surfaces with things. Also we didnt expect to have to start and defrost the freezer box ,which as we were chipping ice out found some frozen fish in there !.The lounge ,bedroom and bathroom were great the house was warm, unfortunatly wouldnt stay again but did enjoy our week.

Some suggestions.Oven and hob controls difficult to read for us oldies and we would welcome a grab rail in the shower. Trailing plant needs trimming at entrance door to improve visibility and avoid wetting us going in and out when raining.

It was as described and whilst dog friendly did not smell of dogs like we have found at previous cottages.Books galore on the shelves and an eclectic mix of what some may call clutter. The decor was beginning to look a little tired in places.Lots of electric appliances in the kitchen with just a small freezer compartment in the fridge and very little room to store your shopping(Several noted the same in the cottage reviews) If it were not for having a dog I would stay at a Premier Inn or similar as it costs less. We would stay again though with our dog and would definitely recommend the cottage but explain the caveats mentioned earlier

The cottage had everything we needed and was literally down the road from our family so a perfect location for us. As stated the garden/terrace wasn't enclosed, but this was no problem as there were plenty of places to take our dog on lead when he needed to go outside. We were pleasantly surprised to find a lovely bottle of wine and biscuits for us on arrival plus a lovely jar full of dog treats/biscuits for Chester! We had everything we would need for a comfortable stay. Thank you for making our stay so perfect...we would love to come back again next time we are visiting our family in Scarborough.

The cottage was spotless, possibly one of the cleanest we have ever been to with an abundance of materials to keep it so. It is full of almost everything you would need with a lot of extras which was useful. One of the best things for us was the double bed was so comfortable . There were a couple of things we could have done with but leaving a note for the owner is always best as everyone is different. The cottage is in a quiet location but close to the amenities of a supermarket and post office in the next village and Scarborough itself. The parking was good, we have a large car and that fitted perfectly. The small courtyard garden was perfect for our dog and as advertised it isn't enclosed and it is very dark at night. There is a great outside table and an abundance of chairs. The attention to the overall detail in this classic cottage is perfect and almost anyone could have a great stay. If I have one observation it would be that the Chesterfield sofas look great but in reality we found them uncomfortable BUT this is just our opinion . This cottage makes a great get a away and bolt hole for anyone and in current times knowing that great care has been taking in its cleanliness.

It was very clean and smelt very nice. There was masses of equipment, books and general bric a brac, so much so that it could almost be called cluttered. The guide to what was available locally was one of the best we have seen and we made full use of it from dog walks to local restaurants. We expected the garden area to be fully enclosed, but this was not to be; however it made the off street parking completely viable although had it been a larger car it might have proved difficult. We found Londesborough Cottage to be the best equpped and most comfortable cottage we have visited so far and don't hesitate to recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet 'away from it all' break but within easy reach of many of Yorkshire's fine towns and villages. This is not your average dog friendly cottage, this is a well appointed home that has been well maintained. The cottage is ideal for a couple or small family (we were a party of 2 adults, 1 child and 1 dog) and we were surprised at how quiet and peaceful it was at night. We have probably never slept better whilst on holiday. The owner provided useful information in advance to make sure we got the most from the week and we were lucky in having hot sunny weather for most of the time.
