  • "We had a lovely week at Swinsty lodge ."

It’s very well situated on a working farm just off the A59 so you can get to lots of places in a very short time. The owners just leave you alone to enjoy your holiday but they are close by if needed. We hope to return again .

Thank you very much for your feedback Property Owner

  • "He lodge served its purpose regarding safety for our dog, with a secure space for her to use."

However, getting to the lodge entailed going up a potholed unmade farm track, which was most unsatisfactory. We did not use the dishwasher because of the smell when we opened it. Two days of the holiday were spoiled by an overwhelming stench from the piggery adjacent to the lodge. The cleaners did a superficial job, with much dust in less accessible spaces such as between the bedside cabinets and the bed. (I dropped my glasses into the space and came up covered in dust), and we had to pour bleach and hot water down the sink to unblock it. We left early.

We are absolutely gobsmacked by this response. We saw the couple everyday out with their dog. And chatted to them. The lane for ourselves has been an absolute nightmare for the last 12 months with it raining continuously, but we do try our upmost to maintain it. We do live on a working farm and from time to time there are different sorts of smells. From our farm and the surrounding other farms. We weren’t aware of any of the other issues, which we would have rectified this as soon as we could. As we encourage all our guests to let us know if there were any problems. Property Owner

  • "Lovely place to stay."

However I think the duvet and pillows need to be looked at as these are badly stained. Also the dip in the flooring is a health hazard.

Glad that you thought it was a lovely place to stay. We have gone through all the holiday lodge looking for a dip in the floor, in which we can only think that there is a vey slight change in level from the lino kitchen floor to the wooden floor. Which has been done professionally and that’s how they join 1 material to another. We do encourage people to come forward before they leave to inform us, so we can understand exactly what they mean. As for the bedding our cleaners clean to a high standard and they usually point out such things. But we will have a look at this and address this point. Property Owner

  • "It was a lovely setting."

How nice to hear the farm animals and feel so secluded. The dogs loved the garden that they could run around freely in. We had some great meals nearby. The property was just what you needed. There were a few minor points. Some things felt like they were about to break - hadn’t but any minute could..these were the kitchen tap, blinds in the bedroom, one of the single beds and remotes for the tele. I was on edge knowing that we could be charged with them and had to be very careful. We would also have appreciated hand soap in at least one of the bathrooms, just because it has been at all the other properties we have stayed at so weren’t expecting to have to bring our own. On the whole though these were minor things and we would be happy to return. Thank you

  • "The itinerary left by the owners was inaccurate."

It said there was 8 dinner plates and there was only 6. The blind in the double bedroom is held on with double sided tape and this kept coming unstuck. There was already wear and tear to the property inside and we were concerned that this wasn’t pointed out by the owner when she came by and that we would get charged for something we hadn’t caused. Other than that we had a lovely, relaxing stay
