• "Highly recommend this property."

  This was our third visit and we have already booked for next year which says it all! The bungalow has a dog friendly enclosed garden and is ideally situated for walks through a nearby wood, beyond which there are paths towards the Country Park and Cleveland Way. The owner is extremely helpful sending useful information in advance, letting us know we could arrive early and then checking the first evening that everything was to our satisfaction. A welcome back card was a nice touch, as were the chocolates.

• "Arbour Retreat was spotless and very well equipped."

  All instructions were clear and accurate and the bungalow was very comfortable. A short walk through the woods and over the fields took you to the cliff tops with fantastic views (even in February) or less than a five minute drive took you to the country park car park where you can access the beach. Great location and great accommodation. We have already booked for the same time next year.

• "We loved our week at Arbour Retreat, felt right at home on entering this warm & cosy cottage."

  Our dog also settled in very quickly. Thank you for the welcome pack - coffee, tea, milk, chocolates & dog biscuit treats, washing up & bathroom goods - much appreciated. Plenty of room for us & her (she sleeps in a crate). Very comfy double bed, pillows a bit soft for me (my personal choice, so i always bring my own) Plenty crockery & cutlery. I loved having suitable cutlery for my use - as well as 'normal' cutlery there was also lighter, smaller, perfect for persons with arthritis. Fabulous walks right from the door step. The area of Filey is clean, vibrant & well looked after. We will be back. Thank you Sharon.

• "Fantastic stay at the Arbour retreat can not fault our stay."

  I will definitely be back to stay in the very well equipped bungalow. We needed for nothing except our own food. What i thought very useful was to not have to rush to the shops to get tea and coffee and washing up liquid , cloths , soap it was a very nice touch to be able to have the basics already in the place. The lovely chocolate was a bonus and a very nice treat and the doggies biscuits to keep woody happy. The furnishings, beds are very comfortable and very clean . I met the cleaner and the owner on leaving as our pickup was late and both couldn't have been more accommodating and patient with us holding them up from getting it ready for the next visitors. Very understanding lovely people and I thankyou both for that. Used the taxis and they are very cheap, on time. Very pleasant drivers who helped out with my disabled mother and friends mobility. Any body who chooses to use the Arbour retreat will not be disappointed with their stay.

• "Just got home after a lovely week staying at Arbour Retreat in Filey."

  The bungalow was perfect for our needs. It has everything you need, a real home from home holiday accommodation. Communication with Sharon was very good from beginning to end and in between when there was a burst water main in the area which was swiftly dealt with by Yorkshire Water as it was external in the area and they had to shut off the water to the properties in the area. Sharon immediately went to action and provided us with large bottles of water for drinking as well as a larger container filled with water for other uses! The water board did fix the issue swiftly and we didn't need the extra water but really appreciated how Sharon dealt with the issue that was completely out of her hands. The bungalow is very well maintained, very clean and comfortable. The location was very good for Filey and further exploration of the area, we had a wonderful week exploring Yorkshire. It is very welcoming to dogs too with treats for them as well as wonderful chocolate treats for us. I would highly recommend a stay at Arbour Retreat, it is a very clean, well equipped, nicely decorated and comfortable holiday home. The garden is nice and enclosed so great for the dog. Parking off road too is a bonus. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Sharon forwarded by email a comprehensive list of Filey and the surrounding area together with places of interest and where to eat.   The bungalow was spotlessly clean,cosy and comfortable.It has a lovely secure and secluded garden too. There are lots of nice shops just a five minutes drive from the bungalow including a Tesco supermarket.We found a takeaway called Scotts Hot Roasts that do hot roast dinners etc which we can recommend,they also provide a delivery service too.   The bungalow was very clean and well maintained. The property was fully stocked, kitchen utensils. pans, ironing board and fluffy towels. The owner had left teabags. coffee. milk and some local chocolates which was a really nice touch. The bungalow is approximately a 15 minute walk to the town centre and beach so great for car free days. Lovely walk to Filey Brigg County Park with great views along the coast. Lovely property and we would recommend a stay here.

• "A very well equipped, clean and spacious cottage in a quiet location about 15 minutes walk from the centre of Filey and less than 5 minutes walk from bus stops for Scarborough and Bridlington."

  There’s loads to do in the local area including a particularly good Treasure Trail and two town trails on the Love Exploring app. Our Filey Distillery tour was also very enjoyable. This was one of the very best Sykes cottages we’ve stayed in and we had a great week despite some dodgy weather.

• "The property was immaculately clean and well equipped."

  The enclosed back garden was perfect for our terriers. We were however a little disappointed that there were not any cafes open. Perhaps we should have expected this for mid January, Local dog walks were limited to streets, however Filey country park and Brigg were nearby. Tesco was also nearby and handy for groceries. Overall excellent but perhaps not at this early in the year.

At this time of year many establishments operate Winter opening hours, closing early and not opening on some days, with some closing for a couple of weeks for holidays and maintenance. • "Arbour Retreat is the best holiday home we have stayed in."

  Molly our greyhound loved the walks on the beach to Hunmanby and parish wood only a minute down the road, which takes you to the Cleveland Way and Country Park. Everything you need, and a lovely garden which is a sun trap. Not far to the town centre, with bakers and butcher's shop and Tesco's. Bull Inn at Gristhorpe allows dogs, good Sunday lunch and Molly had biscuits and drink of water. Have already booked again for next year. • "My wife and I were really pleased with the decorative appearance of the property and the provision of furniture and kitchen equipment, all in very good condition and anything you could want."

  Because of my medical condition dirt and dust are big no no’s but the property was spotless and warm. I’m lucky to live in a beautiful four bed bungalow but I could have happily lived at this address. Sharon the owner was readily available when texted and most obliging with advice and direction. A very enjoyable break.

• "The accommodation was very clean and comfortable."

  A 10 min walk to the town and sea front. Very quite area and easy to find. We had a problem on arrival due to a mix up in the provision of sheets/towels on the bank holiday weekend but after calling the contact for this property it was resolved quickly the same day.

• "Arbour Retreat was very clean and both the beds and the settee's were very comfortable , nice welcome pack of chocolates and different coffees to try , Owner texted us early to say the property had been cleaned and that we could get in earlier than stated time , much appreciated ."

  Property is located in a quite part of Filey approx 15minutes steady walk into town .Also handy for the bus service to Scarborough and Bridlington did not need to use car as good bus service. Would definitely stay again if coming to this area.

  Excellent condition and full of equipment. Only one thing we found to be a little unusual was that there were no blinds or curtains in bathroom, felt a bit exposed and on view, otherwise a great holiday let and we will definitely consider booking again. J. Brooks

We bought the bungalow as our own holiday home and had many years of enjoyment there until moving to Filey permanently. As the neighbouring property does not overlook the bathroom, we decided not to install curtains or blinds to maintain the clean lines of the window recess. Our last intention is to make guests feel uncomfortable, in any way, and none of our previous guests have mentioned this issue. However, if the absence of a blind would deter guests from making a return booking, we may have to reconsider. Property Owner

• "An immaculate bungalow in a peaceful residential area within 15 mins walk to the centre of Filey."

  The house was spotless, light and airey, and the beds and furnishings very comfortable. It was very easy to walk to the country park from the doorstep and bus stops for Brid or Scarborough are only 5 mins walk away. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return next year. Thank you to Sharon for the welcome pack and delicious chocolates. Her communication prior to arrival with pertinent information was excellent.

• "We had a wonderful stay at Arbour Retreat and will definitely return and recommend to our friends and family."

  The property was exceptionally clean and the kitchen was very well equipped. The living room was spacious with lovely comfy sofas. The beds were very comfortable and the bed linen was of a high quality. The location was perfect for walking into Filey on an evening and also for exploring the coast by car. We had the benefit of some nice wether so were able to take advantage of the sunny dog secure garden. The property was perfect in every way.

  We’ve had a great week in a fabulous holiday home, it’s bigger than it looks on the photos, was absolutely spotlessly clean ( not sure it could have been any cleaner ) , was so well equipped and in a great position. In fact it was everything and more , that you need for a week away . Loved all the information that Sharon sent us, specially all the dog friendly info.   The property is on a quiet road and perfectly placed for Filey and the surrounding area. It was spotlessly clean and had everything you needed.
