  • "Leather seating old and slippy no support Only one toilet 700 pounds for three nights not value for money Lady owner wanted us out by 9."

30 on final morning and was round at 9 am We were allowed pets but expected to take dog poo to pickering 5 miles away

We understand that everyone will have their own opinions on interior design and are only sorry that the sofas did not suit your taste - this is the first time that anyone has commented on this subject so we will take this into account. Yes, the cabin has one toilet (in a very spacious wet room) but this is on all information that Sykes Cottages advertises so should not have come as any surprise. Our village has two dog poo bins, one of which is 300 yards down the road from the cabin and visible from the main road so we are sorry you missed them. Property Owner

  • "This lodge was in a peaceful tranquil setting."

Close enough to the New Inn for dining out. It has everything you could want in a holiday lodge. The only negative thing is that I couldn’t work out how to use the oven. So on the plus side I didn’t have to cook.

Down side, poor lighting in kitchen living room. Could not put radiator on in bathroom without underfloor heating. Would be nice to have a bath. But property was adequate.

  • "The Cabin was spotlessly clean, nice and warm."

There were plenty of utensils and well laid out kitchen. The bedrooms were on the small side, but cosy. The shower room was excellent plenty of hot water. We had a wonderful stay and certainly highly recommend the Cabin. The area is superb for walking good pubs close by and lots of places to visit.

  • "Absolutely gorgeous lodge in a beautiful quiet country setting."

We had a great stay and it was very good value for money and we hope to go again in the future! The cabin was very comfortable with everything you need, personally I would have liked a bath as well as a shower but that’s just personal preference, the shower was still very nice.

Thank you! All the facilities were in good clean and working conditions. Anne was helpful and friendly. To make the holiday even better, it would have been great to have had a washing machine and freezer available.

  • "Superb location, well positioned for the east coast of Yorkshire."

Close to Pickering. Very nice pub in the beautiful village of Cropton about 10 minutes walk. The Lodge itself is very clean and spacious in a very quiet but due to the trees dark location. Bedrooms are big enough but the double beds are too small for me and my wife but a King size would probably be too big for the rooms. Bed was hard and my wife found it very uncomfortable. Adequate wardrobe space. Bathroom is a wet room which is ok but took some clearing up after a shower as the water always escapes. The shower head clamp does not fit which needed some modification with a sponge cloth to make it useable. The Kitchen was very well equipped with Dish washer, good oven, and plenty of utensils. No washing machine which was disappointing. Lounge kitchen diner was very spacious and the furniture in very good order. All in all a pleasant stay but due to beds would not use again.
