• "Absolutely beautiful property."

  Owners had thought of everything which is really handy when you arrive and realise you've forgotten something. Great layout - the bedroom/living room combo went down very well with the teens. Kitchen was very well stocked. Beds and sofas very comfortable. Immaculately clean. Owners v responsive when we had an issue. Had a lovely week there. Our only negative was that we were too hot (it was Feb - heating is v good!) and it took a while to work out how to turn the heating off!

• "Wow! wow!"

  wow! The Cart House is an exceptional property and definitely deserves a 5 star review . We spent a weekend there celebrating my mum's 80th birthday and it was a perfect place for a family get together. It is very well equipped, exceptionally clean, tastefully decorated and fixtures & furniture are very high spec . We could not recommend this property highly enough.We would love to return. Thank you for the welcome snacks, very much appreciated.

  Spotlessly clean. Comfortably accommodated 8 of us .Wonderful location for all amenities. Excellent facilities, everything thought of. Owners very helpful, and on hand if needed. Would definitely recommend! Hope to return at some point.

• "Hi Karen and Chris, your let is fabulous!"

  My friends and I try to meet twice a year and it's the first time we're all in agreement that we'd return to the same property. Three things/suggestions we thought we'd mention - 1. There's a leak under the sink in the bathroom of the far bedroom upstairs (hope it's not caused too much damage). 2. We really would appreciate lighting at the beginning of the drive. We managed to miss the turn off when driving in the dark. Would be so helpful. 3. We were 6 people but felt slightly on top of each other in the lounge area so maybe another settee could be added? Thank you so much for a truly relaxing and wonderful stay. Karen, it was a real treat meeting you - a fantastic welcome!

• "Our second stay at the Cart house & it was as good as we remembered."

  The property had everything we needed as a family group aged 8 to 68 & is in a good location for days in York using park & ride. The moors & Whitby are within easy reach for days out. We hope to return.

• "A wonderful property in a wonderful setting."

  Everything you need for a perfect holiday. Loved the snug with the extra TV especially as the football was on and we were not all football fans! 2 year old Grandson loved seeing the cows which he thought were “so cute”. Location great for getting out and about. Park and ride close by making it so much easier to visit York. Plenty of options for eating out, highly recommend The Gait Inn, Millington and No10 Cafe Bar and Bistro, Stamford Bridge. Already Booked to return next Year. • "We chose this property as it offered spacious accommodation close to York for a midway point for a family get together involving family members travelling from Edinburgh and Cardiff ."

  We were 6 adults and a baby of nearly 10 months. All the adults enjoyed the pleasure of en suite rooms on the first floor or the bathroom close by on the ground floor. Very comfortable beds and a very impressive kitchen , large dining area and lounge. Electric charging points at the property were also a boon in terms of time saving and reasonable costs. Quiet location on a beef cattle and arable farm and the 9 month old really enjoyed seeing the cattle grazing each day and learned to say Moo over the course of the week! We also saw a hare. Very good location for Park and Ride at Grimston Bar to get into York easily and visit its most famous tourist spots.Also gave us the opportunity to visit Whitby and Castle Howard.Also visited Pocklington to meet up with friends who live in York and ate lunch there and had delicious ice creams in the High Street .

• "The Cart House is amazing!"

  It’s the perfect place for a get together with all amenities you should need. A real home from home! The garden is beautifully kept and secure, the beds are lovely and comfortable and the living space is open and airy, allowing the whole party to be in the same space and not feel cramped. A short drive to York city centre and Pocklington town centre. We couldn’t have asked for more. Can’t wait to return!

• "We found the property to be very clean, comfortable and well appointed and would be happy to recommend it to others."

  It is ideally situated for visiting York and the surrounding areas. Parking onsite was very good. From the house and patio area there were nice views of the surrounding countryside, despite the closeness of the main road it was a very peaceful site. Although we were only a party of four we considered that it would be ideal for larger groups with mixed ages.

• "It was the perfect place for the five adults, very well appointed."

  Loved the downstairs bathroom in particular. We have stayed in many places but Cart House was special. Chris and Karen were generous with milk, tea, coffee, biscuits, cooking oil, salt and pepper and decent supply of toilet rolls gets top marks. Beds comfortable, good sound proofing so we couldn’t hear others snoring in adjoining bedrooms! It was warm and welcoming, close to York and Lots of interesting places. Best place yet! • "We loved this property, ideally positioned not far from park and ride into York and just off the main road but no traffic noise."

• "A lovely cottage, high spec yet homely."

  We had everything we needed and more, plenty big enough for the seven of us. The kids loved having a separate snug to themselves and enjoyed the games and jigsaws too. • "We had a great holiday in the Cart House."

  The accommodation is superb - comfortable, well equipped, super clean and well presented. There is plenty to do in the area, We visited York (twice), Whitby, the Dales, played golf (don't bother with Heworth but Kilnick Percy is good) and walked to Stamford Bridge and back. If we come to Yorkshire again this is where we will stay!

• "The cottage was warm and cosy despite outside temperatures of -6 and snow while staying."

  As a family with allergies/asthma, we were so pleased with the exceptional level of cleanliness throughout and the cottage was so well equipped. We were able to cater for a family get together brilliantly. The cottage is well located for York - 20 mins drive. There are regular buses to York but the stop is along the main road with no pavement and the verge was too wet/muddy for us to try this time of year. The owners were friendly and helpful. Would thoroughly recommend.

• "Highly modern and tastefully decorated with everything we needed for our stay."

  The setting is absolutely splendid, surrounded by fields. Perfect for a peaceful getaway. The place was clean and had everything needed for a great break. Lovely hamper on arrival at this well-presented house. Huge communal area and bedrooms complete with comfortable linen and towels. The beds are very comfortable, and the furniture design is very appealing. They provided lots of leaflets of things to do in the area. Much thought has gone into the furnishings and the kitchen utensils. The accommodation is all on one level and beautifully appointed, the kitchen has enough cupboard space with a big fridge and freezer. The location was ideal for our day trips to all the beautiful places near York. A perfect place to which we would happily return. Highly recommend it for a chill with plenty of places to visit also. Thank you we have made some lovely memories while staying here.

• "The Cart House is a beautiful place to stay."

  Fantastic time spent there with friends for new year. It had everything we needed for a relaxing time. Our nearly teenage girls enjoyed having the downstairs room with the fold out beds and lounge space to themselves while the adults could enjoy the kitchen, dining, lounge space. Walks to the pub in wilberfoss were enjoyed and York city not to far away by car. Thank you for a lovely stay.

• "The property was ideal for our family Christmas get together, particularly with baby and toddler for part of our stay - loads of room for running around within sight!"

  Kitchen amazing space and open plan great for socializing. Some constructive comments would have to include - very small shower rooms, lack of drawer storage in bedrooms, heating was little erratic at times, no walking access on main road with push chairs but we hear this is being pursued. However, so many more positive’s, including - fab utility/boot room, kitchen equipment great and fabulously large fridge, lovely Christmas tree and tasteful decs, electric charging points, 2nd lounge area, etc. Welcome pack lovely and cookies delicious

  We were an elderly group having a family reunion & needed help getting the heating right. Luckily the owner Chris was on hand to sort it out.The Park & Ride into York was very handy (5 miles away).   The only feedback I would give is the two sofa beds downstairs were very uncomfortable so might be a good thing to replace them with comfier sofa beds? Everything else was 10/10!

• "We have stayed in over 20 cottages and this is up there as one of the best."

  The location is great and it's spotlessly clean, very comfortable and very well equipped. Thank you for the welcome goodies - it's these touches that get your stay off to a great start. We stayed during the 40 degree heatwave so fans would have been a bonus! It's very hard to fault this cottage - the only suggestion we had, and mentioned to the owners, was better curtains for blocking out the glare on the TVs and apparently this was already in hand. Thank you to them for such a wonderful, well considered cottage. If we come back to Yorkshire - this is where we will stay!

• "A wonderful and relaxing place to stay."

  The cottage has been completed to a high standard and has everything you need. The kitchen was well stocked and beds were comfy. Plenty of space for children to run around. • "Beautiful cottage (more like a mansion) in a lovely location."

  Close to all amenities and the park and ride for York. Immaculately presented house with everything required for a relaxing holiday. Plenty of parking for 3 cars (we have a large party). Friendly and helpful owners, couldn't be nicer or more accommodating. Sadly near a busy road with no pavements, so need to drive to go for walks. Not the fault of the property though. The two futons downstairs were extremely uncomfortable and we had to take it in turns to make it fair for all. Really only suitable for small children, or those who can sleep anywhere. We have booked again for 2023, and I really hope there is a more comfortable option this year. Could do with a better curtain on the French doors in this room too, as the light streams in and makes it hard to sleep. Despite these issues, I would really recommend this holiday home, and we really did enjoy our summer break there and are looking forward to returning.

• "The standard of accomodation was superb, very clean and comfortable."

  The showers and toilet facilites were excellent. The kitchen was very well appointed. We would have liked more small pans for cooking vegatables, only 1 supplied then 2 stock pots of the larger variety. We managed though so no dramas.

• "Everything was 1st class."

  A beautiful property. Only thing we would have liked was blinds downstairs as when the sun was shining it was quite bright and blinds would have been perfect to pull down. Hopefully all who stay at this property treat it well to keep it beautiful for future guests to enjoy too. Would recommend it to anyone as it made our holiday & we didn't want to leave. Thank you

• "We had a lovely week."

  It's a fabulous house that is beautifully furnished from top to bottom. Although not far off a very busy main road it was peaceful with views over fields. We would definitely book here again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to other people

  The barn conversion has been well designed and decorated. The property has been thoughtfully set out and stocked with everything you could need. Everywhere was scrupulously clean. From the moment we arrived we felt relaxed and at home. The Cart House is in a great position for visiting a variety of places but is also a lovely place to chill out in and just enjoy the surroundings.

• "Excellent property, all rooms are well proportioned especially the ground floor, all facilities/utensils are of excellent quality the property had everything we required, the outside area had a good sized patio & seating area and plenty of grassed area for the kids to play games on."
