• "Stablefold ticked all of our requirements and one of the best cottages we have stayed in."

  Ian and Jenny were so helpful and provided a lovely welcome pack. The cottage is very comfortable, warm and well equipped. Easy to get into York. Buses pass the cottage but there is a more frequent service which stops outside the Cross Keys pub - a three minute walk towards York. This service runs in the evening so we could go into York centre for a meal. We also had a nice meal in the Cross Keys and good fish and chips from the chip shop 50m from the cottage.

• "Very handy for York We had a very comfortable stay at Stablefold, it was really easy to get into York we didn’t use the car at all."

  It was a 30 minute walk or 10 minute bus ride. The cottage was, clean, comfortable and warm. We can recommend the pub down the road called Fox and Roman we had a nice meal there. If any does Park Run on Saturday there is one on the racecourse a short walk from the house which was really handy. In summary top marks for Stablefold.

  Clean, well equipped and quiet despite being on a main road. Such easy access to York and surrounding area. Good local pubs, short walk to Tesco and easy bus journey to the rail station. Our week passed too quickly!

• "This is the first property I've rented as holiday accommodation through Sykes and it sets the bar very high."

  The quality of the whole cottage is extremely good as was communicating with the owners regarding access to keys etc. Moreover, the property's information folder couldn't have been more informative. The icing on the cake was the cottage's location: on a short bus ride to the centre of York and with good facilities nearby. My next booking with Sykes has much to live up to!

• "This property should be the benchmark standard for all your properties!"

  It is perfect in every way and then more! Do yourself a favour and go and stay there! We have experienced a few of your properties in the past months and this one is far and away the best! Here are some things we appreciated: -price -location -space - excellent sized bed, excellent mattress, pillows and bedding -central heating that can be adjusted -a kitchen stocked like at home with nothing else required other than your food. -a washing machine and dishwasher -immaculately clean -a welcome hamper of British food - friendly hosts who made me feel comfortable to talk to and they also replied to every message asap. - plenty of information brochures - an elaborate instruction book on how to use every appliance. - off street parking -double glazed windows - a large shower cubicle with plenty of hot water and good pressure - light airy and spacious apartment - a Bluetooth media player/radio that allows us to play our own music - wifi that actually works very well.. unlike nearly every other place! -recliner chairs to lounge in Look after these people because they are the ones giving Sykes a good reputation!

• "We had a really lovely stay at Stablefold."

  The location is excellent just a thirty-minute walk into York or a short bus ride. There is also a Tesco extra five minutes away by car or again a short walk. Stablefold was extremely clean and comfortable and we were left a lovely welcome basket and some milk in the fridge for our arrival. The bed was very comfy and the property was well-equipped. We had a wonderful stay at Stablefold.

• "We have stayed in several different cottages in York, but this was by far the cosiest & cleanest property we have ever stayed in."

  The added bonus of our own parking space at the back of the cottage meant we could leave the car behind & take advantage of the regular buses into the City & Rail Station. We will definitely return. 10/10

  Cottage was lovely; it was very clean, had everything you would need and welcome pack was really nice gesture. Perfect location for easy walk into York City centre although regular buses available if 25 minute walk too much. Shops, takeaways and pubs all within a few hundred yards. Recommend Fox and Roman pub and good fish and chips at Blue Fin chippy almost next door. Had a great stay and would definitely recommend.

  It is IMMACULATE in every corner , every surface - wonderful. The bed is extremely comfortable , the cottage is spacious and well thought out. There is everything you need , even to prepare Christmas lunch. The treats left were lovely - very Christmassy , as were the tasteful Christmas decorations , it was warm and cosy. It is an easy short walk or bus ride into town and there is a supermarket up the road and a lovely pub 2 mins away . Perfect location in York. The off street parking is a bonus too. Ian and Jenny should be very proud of providing such excellent accommodation and we wish to thank them very much .

• "Lovely house only 30 minute walk from York so no need to use car, although we did twice, once to Blackpool to dance in the famous Tower Ballroom and then to Settle to walk around the Flower Pot Festival."

  The house has everything you need for a weeks stay and there was a manual telling us how to use all the appliances, which was really useful. The house was so clean and there was a lovely goody pack left for us which was a nice touch and the bonus was being able to park the car behind the house of road. We would recommend this property to anyone wanting to visit York.

  Multiple buses to York city centre virtually from the front door. Two pub restaurants and very good fish and chip shop and chinese takeaway within two minutes walk. Cottage was very well furnished and equipped - immaculately clean. A great plus was the off road parking. Would highly recommend.

  Lovely layout and plenty of crockery. Welcome pack was very thoughtful. Only thing to mention was that there wasn’t a washing machine and a dishwasher instead. Would recommend staying at this property as close to city centre of York and Andy a bus journey away.

  A large supermarket, great fish and chip shop, pubs and bus stops all handy. The owners couldn’t have been more welcoming or helpful and the house was spotlessly clean, tastefully furnished and very comfortable. Having visited during CV19 all consideration to make us feel safe had been taken. We would highly recommend Stableford and would definitely stay again.

  Their attention to detail for our comfort and convenience exceeded our expectations. The house has absolutely everything you need and more. We parked our car and it didn’t move until we came home. You can walk into York in no time. We had a trip to Leeds and Harrogate and walked to the train station in York in 30 minutes. However, there is a bus to both places less than 100 yards from the front door of the property. We will definitely go back and have no hesitation in recommending.

  Welcoming pack was excellent, very much appreciated. Short walk to National Trust house Goddards which only has parking for disabled access. Only slight downside was the busy road, if you live in a quiet cul de sac like us we found it a little noisy.

  There were fresh flowers too, which was all very welcoming and a nice surprise. We found Stablefold to be extremely clean, warm and very comfortable, with everything we needed for our stay. The bed is very comfortable with good quality bed linen. Although the cottage is on a main road it seemed very quiet at night and we were not disturbed by traffic noise. Buses stop close by, so we left the car in the private off-road parking space at the back of the cottage for part of the week. We also walked into the centre of York several times - strolling, it took us about 40 minutes, and is a pleasant, almost level walk. Stablefold is a fantastic place to stay and we would definitely book again if visiting York.

Cottage was warm and I could control the heating if I wanted to (didn't need to). Super shower!!! Good that I could park the car immediately behind the property. On the main Tadcaster road but except at peak traffic times was not aware of the noise. In all pleased with the cottage and its location.
