  • "This property is really only suitable for a couple who just want somewhere to sleep for a few nights."

There is absolutely no storage provision to unpack clothes, not even a cupboard, and although we only stayed for 3 nights we had to live out of suitcases and I wouldn't have wanted to stay for a week, or longer. Some drawers or something under the bed would have been useful. No hob or oven just a microwave (this is as listed) but minimum crockery and cutlery etc. Just 2 teaspoons or 2 small plates really isn't enough, even for 2 people. The bed cover seemed to have white animal hairs on it but not sure if there had been a dog in there or if the hairs were from the real animal skin rug on the floor. Not suitable for us so I wouldn't return to this property.

Hi Jane. Your absolutly right, Dragonstone lodge is idea for a long weekend away, and priced very reasonablly to reflect the facilities available here. Guests looking for full cooking and dining facilities will likey pay double for a holiday cottage in this location. We thank you for your feedback in relation to storage, and recognise that the provisions in place may not be suitable for everyone. As a new property we are commited to acting on guest observations and are taking action to provide additional hanging space and drawers. In terms of crockery and cutlery, the property has 4 of everything. For a maximum of 2 people staying I feel this is reasonable. With regard to cleanliness of the property, Dragonstone Lodge is always, and has always been, spotlessly clean for guests arriving - as every other review of the property on this site will atest to. • "Lovely owners."

.. Very strange place...Extremely claustrophobic due to one small window with frosted glass... Little natural light so had to sit in with all the ceiling lights on...No table to put your drinks etc on...No hob to heat anything, no robe or even rail to hang your clothes, yet described as a holiday cottage by Sykes..Badly designed with unnecessary king size bed.. Should have a double bed side on with a small wardrobe, then the settee could be opposite the TV with a small coffee table..OR robe where the silly oversized TV is, and a 32" (plenty) TV on a stand where the useless storage box is under the window..Put clear glass in the window fir God's sake...!!

Hi Robert. Thank you for your feedback. The listing by sykes accuratly represents what we offer at Dragonstone Lodge. As a small studio apartment there are things we have been unable to accomodate. As noted in your review there is no hob, freestanding wardrobe, or dining area, nor do we claim there is in the listing. Many guests use the property as a ‘bolt hole’ while exploring the area. Sykes offer many holiday cottages which do have the ammenities you were looking for - however, this is reflected in the price. I think most people would agree £40 per night for 2 adults and 2 dogs staying as you did in the first week of september represents fantastic value for money. The bespoke super comfortable king size bed and extra wide flat screen TV are both top of the range, as are all of the ammenities we offer, from underfloor heating to the power shower in the bathroom. The kitchen area with microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster provides an alternative option to cooking for guests who prefer to eat out yet still have the facilities to make breakfast and prepare packed lunchs for day trips. Were lucky enough to have a lovely village pub just a 2 min walk away offering a variety of food options many of which are available to takeaway. The frosted glass in the window offers guests privacy from overlooking as this is a single story property. There are lots of lighting options, touch activated bedside lamps, free standing floor lamp, under counter lighting beneath kitchen cupboards and multiple spotlights in the vaulted ceiling allowing guests the opportunity to create lighting which suits their needs. The storage box beneath the window is handy for travel luggage and contains an iron and hangers which can be used on the wall hooks provided to hang clothing. Sadly we have not met your requirements on this occassion, however we have made every effort to be transparent in our listing with facilities we do offer which is reflected in the price. • "Dragonstone lodge was an immaculate property, beautifully decorated, everything we needed for a short break."

We both enjoyed our stay with our German Shepherd who very much appreciated the oscillating fan during the night. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and the shower was amazing after a long day out walking. We appreciated the Bluetooth mirror also to play our tunes whilst showering. Welcome basket very much appreciated by us both and Hendrix (GSD). Very quiet environment, perfect for switching off. Just a suggestion for the future for people with dogs, not a criticism in any way. Maybe a small bin for dog poop outside the property. We wasn't sure where to put it when toileting in the middle of the night. Overall 100% recommend this property ☺️

Hi Jessica. Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay at Dragonstone Lodge and grateful for your feedback. I have updated the guest handbook with much clearer information relating to disposal of waste. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Best Wishes Lisa & Richard Property Owner

  • "It is a lovely well presented annex, but there was a lack of natural light as the property only had one small window and a solid door."

Although it states a garden, this was just a stoned drive with parking which is not really safe if you have a dog that likes to roam and not good for dog toilet time.

Thank you for your feedback Paul. Were so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. We have created an outdoor seating area for guests to enjoy the afternoon and evening sunshine. We welcome guests with dogs and are lucky to have a super dog friendly pub in the village and lots of beautiful dog walks right on our doorstep. Hope to see you again soon. Property Owner
