  • "No wardrobe in the twin bedroom Not all the lights in the kitchen worked pretty dark."

Just little things need fixing. A bit gutted about the swimming pool, not fixed. But apart from that's a nice stay.

The setting was superb and the views from the property were great. Easy access to the coast and the Wolds. The pool area was lovely. The owners were very friendly and accommodating and the eggs were spot on.

  • "We stayed in the cottage for a week and what a wonderful week we had."

Upon arrival the cottage was clean and tidy and there was coffee, tea, sugar, milk and fresh farm eggs and a lovely chocolate cake which we very much enjoyed. We met Eugene the owner who was so lovely and chatty and just said if we needed anything to phone or message him anytime. The onsite swimming pool and jacuzzi was the highlight for us. It us open everyday from 10-8pm and we made good use everyday and we had the pool to ourselves which was so much fun. There were balls and floats already there to use which was great and we made use of them having daily challenges of volley ball..Great fun. The supermarket is a 16 minute drive away (morrisons) although you can organise a delivery which we didn't know but we will for next time

  • "I hired the cottage to allow my family to gather together to help me celebrate my 70th birthday, and it was a good decision!"

We all had a great time, and I'd definitely recommend it to friends. There were a couple of problems, however - the showers didn't get warm in two of the rooms, so I let everyone use ours (!), and the main oven wasn't working at all. However, we found ways around it, and, along with the fab pool, thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

Thank you very much for the feedback. Unfortunately the clock on the oven was not set so the oven didn't work. Once the clock was set, the oven worked. We do apologies for the showers, we had a pump that fail and couldn't be replaced in time for your visit as we needed to take up the flooring. This has now been completed. Property Owner

  • "We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Farm Cottage."

The property was much bigger than expected and in a beautiful setting with great views. We spent much of our time in the farm style kitchen which also had a conservatory to fully appreciate this lovely setting. The hosts were great and so helpful and the pool was brilliant and used by us each day. This was a great find!

  • "The property is lovely and spacious, we had a wonderful week there."

The owners made themselves available and came and introduced themselves with a box of fresh eggs from the farm which was a lovely touch. I know the owners are currently updating the properties on the farm and the furniture in the farm house could def do with an update (mainly the beds/matresses) The only other addition which would be nice is a washing machine/tumble drier in the property for a property aimed at families it would help when your there for a week. (Aware as well the owners are in the process of creating a laundry room on site) We had a great stay and would definately come back and recommend to others

  • "This is a lovely farmhouse ideal for our multigenerational holiday."

The owners couldn’t be more helpful and we would definitely recommend this as a holiday base for all ages. There is a comfortable relaxing sunroom off the kitchen with a lovely view towards the North Yorkshire Moors. The sitting room has a large TV plus there are several other different sitting areas which is ideal . The kitchen is spacious with plenty of seating and a second TV . It is equipped with most things you need but perhaps more cutlery tumbler glasses and bowls would be helpful. The bedrooms are very spacious.all en-suite, there is also a downstairs cloakroom. The fabulous swimming pool with Jacuzzi was a great hit with us all. . The addition of a washing machine/dryer would be welcome but we didn’t really miss it.. The outside areas are immaculately kept and the children loved the goats and the pigs. The area is ideal for a holiday with a huge selection of things to do within 30 mins drive. We recommend Reighton Sands close to Hunmanby/Filey which is beautiful and fairly easy access. and dog friendly also Sledmere House which is delightful and has something for everyone, The children loved the Shire horse foals and other livestock, the play park and the beautiful walled garden. The grounds and house at Sledmere are stunning with a good restaurant and garden shop plus it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to get in ! We also went to Whitby which is a little further to drive but we’ll worth a visit. We thoroughly recommend this property and would book again if we visit this area again.

  • "Our holiday at Farm Cottage was very enjoyable."

The cottage was so much bigger than we expected, we particularly loved the two conservatory areas. The use of the indoor heated pool and garden area added an extra dimension. Our son and family joined us for a long weekend and the grandchildren loved watching the goats and chickens in the field, swimming in the pool and playing in the garden. We will definitely be visiting Farm Cottage again.

  • "Lovely warm cottage, much bigger than it looks in the photos."

The bedrooms all have an ensuite which is great. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need. The pool was lovely but it was a shame that the seats had no cushions on so couldn't be used. The changing area was very clean. The cottage is well located with lots to visit close by.

Hi Charlotte, Thank you very much for the very kind feedback. We're delighted you had a good time. We are really sorry about the chair cushions - we were having new covers put on and they were meant to be delivered for your arrival but got delayed unfortunately. Kind Regards, Eugene and Lucy Property Owner

RILLINGTON

Malton 4.7 miles; Scarborough 18.5 miles; York 23 miles.

Rillington is a small village and civil parish located on the A64 road in North Yorkshire, with easy links to the historical city of York and the bustling coastal town of Scarborough. Rillington was mentioned in the 1086 Domesday Survey and is now home to a Post Office, two pubs, The Coach and Horses and The Fleece, and a church. The rural community was developed many years ago due to the presence of fertile soil and the village is still home to an active farming community. Nearby attractions include the Scampton Walled Garden, a contemporary garden open for visitors throughout the year, and the Wolds Way Lavender, a lavender farm and visitor centre. Further afield into the city of York, you can discover the incredible York Minster and grand city walls. Heading towards the coast, the seaside towns of Filey and Scarborough offer a good selection of shops, pubs, restaurants and cafés, as well as gorgeous promenades, water sports and golden sandy beaches.
