• "A lovely, spacious cottage in a quiet, attractive village."

  Within easy reach of good walks and the coast. The cottage was really comfortable, well-equipped and very nicely furnished. Having an en-suite for every bedroom was such a treat. We chose the cottage partly because of the secure garden for our two dogs and we were really pleased that it was as secure as promised. One point to be aware of though is that the lawn is on a higher level which might be a problem for some dogs as the steps up to it are quite steep or some dogs might be tempted to jump directly down from a height as ours did!

• "Beautiful cottage ,comfy beds."

  Lovely garden although we did not use it due to cooler weather. Great position for our walking week on the Cleveland Way. The owner was contacted regarding a small problem & it was immediately rectified.

• "What an amazing home from home."

  We were greeted by Amanda and a wonderful cake! Rose Cottage is the ideal house for a family get together (in our case my parents Diamond wedding celebration). It was comfortable and spacious with everything we needed and situated in a beautiful area. Unfortunately we left an item behind, but Amanda contacted us promptly and is posting it (free of charge) to us. We will definitely stay at one of her properties again and cherish the memories of our family time together

  Light & airy ensuite bedrooms with good sized shower cubicles & large comfortable beds. Beautifully presented with much appreciated attention to detail such as big sofas, thick light blocking curtains, thick, fluffy towels & rotary washing line with ample pegs! We love this cottage so much that we are planning a third stay!

• "Beautiful accommodation in a quiet village."

  Easy access to some lovely walks including Cleveland Way. Yorkshire coastal towns & visitor attractions also within easy access. Our group were delighted with the level of comfort & facilities. Super comfy beds & TV's in all rooms were great The cottage is maintained to a very high standard & Amanda is a lovely host. You will not be disappointed.

• "We had an amazing stay here for the bank holiday weekend!"

  Cottage is lovely and spacious, so great to be able to get everyone together, the area is lovely as well with countryside walks and Saltburn is worth a visit. Dogs loved it too. Bedrooms are lovely, especially the upstairs ones which feel luxurious. Out of 8 of us a couple found the mattresses slightly hard but that’s just preference! The only slight thing we would’ve appreciated is a bit more toilet paper, as there was 6 staying for 4 days and 2 of us staying for 7, we ended up having to drive to go and buy some more as we couldn’t find any spare rolls. Other than that, absolutely perfect would definitely love to return! Thanks so much

• "We had a lovely relaxing break at Rose Cottage."

  We travelled as 2 families and we loved the large space that we all had. The cottage was immaculately clean. The super king size beds were amazing and very comfortable. We would like to return sometime in the future as there are lots to do and see in the area along with lovely dog walks right on your doorstep.

• "4 of us stayed here for a week."

  The property was perfect with 4 large bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms, something that is really hard to find. The beds were comfortable and the showers good. The kitchen was well equipped, which was great as we all like to cook, and having the range cooker on all the time made cooking easy as well as keeping the kitchen toasty all the time. I can’t imagine the cottage could ever get cold. I brought my dog and was very pleased to find a totally enclosed garden (although a determined dog would be able to jump the side gate, but my dog is not that determined!). There were also a couple of really nice walks nearby, out over the fields behind or around the hill. We have stayed in a lot of holiday rentals over the years and we all agreed that this was the best one ever. There was so much to see in Yorkshire that we think a second visit may be needed in which case this will be the cottage. I just wish we could pick it up and take it around the UK with us! .

• "Great property for a Family get together."

  Large comfortable property very tastefully decorated, we loved the kitchen diner. The 4 en-suite bedrooms were excellent but the 2 ground floor bedrooms are accessed by 2 steps which I feel needs to be noted on the property description. Its a great location for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors and coast.

• "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rose Cottage."

  It had everything we needed and was extremely comfortable. It was clean and very well maintained and the extra touch of the chocolate cake was much appreciated as it was yummy. The Sutton Arms pub served lovely food and was an easy stroll away even for the members of our group who were not as mobile. Nice easy drive to Saltburn (lovely fish and chips), Whitby, Thirsk, Thornton le Dale etc. Scenery was beautiful all around.

• "Rose cottage was a first class accommodation."

  A nice welcome pack, ideal family kitchen, dining table and lounge area. The bedrooms were large and the en-suites shower cubicles were excellent. Although the rear garden was raised it had a large table, chairs and umbrella. The parking area was sufficient for a minimum of 3 vehicles.

Thank you for letting me know you marked me down on facilities and maintenance because one door was stiff to close and another didn’t quite sneck closed, I will get these two doors looked at immediately, and that you would have liked more information on recycling over and above the information that is on the individual bins saying what goes in them. • "Brilliant stay at Rose Cottage."

  Very prompt and helpful communications with the owner. Cottage is massive, plenty of space for 8 people, with a kitchen/diner/lounge and then a second lounge. We had great weather so used the garden. Having en-suite in all bedrooms is a great touch, and the cottage is fully equipped, cannot think of anything which was missing. Wld certainly recommend a stay here.

• "Amazing property!"

  Stayed here with family and there was plenty of room for us all! Lovely garden with a big table & 8 chairs with sunshade. Fab comfy beds and the whole house was spotless. Will definitely return here and Will certainly recommend to anyone thinking of going. My parents had left the tray from their air fryer & the lovely owner is going to post it back to them with no charge! Excellent customer service from start to finish

• "Brilliant New Year break at this absolutely beautiful cottage, very comfortable, well equipped and spacious with 4 ensuite bathrooms and a separate lounge Perfect for our group of 7."

  Lovely warm welcome from Amanda , the owner, with Christmas tree, lights and an amazing homemade Christmas cake. We had very good Sunday lunch at The Sutton Arms next door. Faceby is well situated for walking and visiting North Yorkshire.

• "A perfect place to stay for 3 of us over from America, on a work trip."

  It was so nice to come back to a comfortable house each night rather than a hotel. The ensuite bathrooms make it perfect for a work trip. The area has plenty of great places to eat out and the kitchen has everything you could need if you wish to eat in. We will definately stay here again.

• "The property is very well kept and was very clean and comfortable."

  It was good to find a property with 4 double on suite rooms and 2 sitting rooms, as over the week, there were 4 generations of us meeting up, but there was plenty of space for everyone. Amanda was very welcoming and the chocolate cake was delicious. We hope to return in the future as there is so much to do and see in the area.

• "We had a very enjoyable 3 night stay at Rose Cottage."

  The house was spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable. We were lucky to have sunshine most of the time so we were able to spend time in the lovely garden at the back. The village is peaceful, but within easy reach of many great places- we visited Roseberry Topping, Osmotherley, Saltburn on sea and Staithes.
