"Good to see the old rug was still in front of the fire, with its strange stains and burn marks."
It was like coming back to an old friend. Everything was fine and a glorious location, due to the weather managed different walks each day from the cottage.

The pretty village of Fadmoor, dotted with old stone cottages, nestles amidst the beautiful countryside of the North York Moors National Park, 2.5 miles from the attractive market town of Kirkbymoorside. Kirkbymoorside is a charming place with a slightly 'old fashioned feel', and visitors will find plenty to keep them occupied in the many tea rooms, pubs and restaurants there. There is even an 18 hole course for golf enthusiasts. The excellent walking and magnificent scenery of the National Park are on the doorstep, and there are many picturesque villages, such as Hutton-le-Hole, close by. Pickering, the base of the North York Moors Steam Railway, is a must for all visitors, or why not enjoy the area’s museums, castles, trout fishing and local market towns. In addition, both the city of York and the resorts of the East Coast are within easy driving distance.
