In an ideal spot just outside Loftus village. Sits on the road between Whitby and Redcar so you can go on either direction to visit the iconic seaside towns along the way. We particularly liked Saltburn although the tram is being restored currently. Would def use Foulsyke again if in the area.

It is extremely well appointed and had everything you would possibly need - down to the usb charging points on most of the sockets. Just loved watching the birdlife from the lounge, and welcoming the chicken as we relaxed in the lovely conservatory. This was one of the most comfortable properties we have stayed in from the sofas to the beds, and the outdoor seating was a bonus. Thank you for the welcome Vicky, and we would love to stay again one day.

The farm itself is very quaint- we enjoyed meeting the goats, pigs and chickens. Thanks for a wonderful holiday. We’re sure to return soon!

The welcome we received was absolutely lovely and the owners even went to the trouble of getting a treat for our little bunny which was amazing and noone has done before. The owners were on site if needed but were not intrusive at all. The property itself was very clean and had all the facilities you would need after a long day out. It's exceptionally quiet, a welcome basket is given on arrival and the site itself is wondeful with all the animals around. Waking up to goats by the window was lovely and the friendly, fluffy cat was a treat. There's even a very amusing guest information book which you have to read. We would definitely love to stay here again in the future! :)

What amazing feedback! Thankyou so much for taking the time to leave us such a wonderful review, we really appreciate it! The cottage has been refurbished and extended to a very high standard with 2 bedrooms and plenty of space. There is safe off-road parking behind the farm gates . Although the farm is no-longer working they still have a small collection of friendly animals including a very talkative pig , and a horse which watches your every move. There were also Barn and Tawny owls flying over. The small town of Loftus is currently being improved but has a lot of work to be done to make it attractive, this does not detract from the cottage , there are many other attractive places on the moors and coast to visit. The hosts are very welcoming.

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback, it really is appreciated. So glad you enjoyed your stay. The market place is now complete as part of a 9 million pound regeneration scheme in the area, it’s host to a number of independent businesses including a fantastic local bakery. Received msgs from owner regarding lights being left on which I found a bit uncalled for as the electric is included in our price. My grandson spilt a little juice on one of beds which I tried to clean before we left, we were told you strip all beds prior to leaving. Mrs Wilson

We are sorry that you encountered issues. It’s very surprising to us as our feedback is consistently excellent. You did not alert us to the injury, he appeared well whilst playing daily. You mentioned cleanliness issues, nothing was raised to us during your stay, they have only been raised by yourselves after Sykes contacted you about unreported damage. Outside lights were on throughout the day, and we politely asked if you were aware,as some guests have turned them on accidentally previously. Property Owner

Great location for exploring the area, if you don’t fancy driving everywhere there is a bus stop at the bottom right of the drive, we took the bus to Whitby one day and Saltburn the next so much easier than struggling for parking and in the holiday season the buses run late back. Some great walks around the area as well. Owners very pleasant and helpful and knowledgeable and respect your privacy they live on site and are available if needed, not that we did. The property

Foulsyke Farm Bungalow is a two-bedroom bungalow in Loftus, North Yorkshire and is idyllic for a family or group of friends to get away from it all.

The house is decorated with a contemporary touch, and has all the features you would expect, and enjoys views of the rolling hills.

Park up on the private driveway before entering your holiday home into the spacious, white-glossy kitchen.

The kitchen is fitted with all the appliances you need to make your favourite meals, from an electric oven, a hob, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a washing machine, and a dishwasher.

Enjoy mealtimes in the conservatory, home to a dining table for four, to soak up the natural light and in the evening, gather in the sitting room to unwind, and maybe even enjoy a toast to your getaway.

Afterwards, move over to the sofa and admire the greenery through the large windows as the Smart TV plays a family favourite.

Make the most of the summer months in the large, wraparound garden; here you can relax with a glass of wine and watch the sunset.

As day draws to night, venture inside, where on the ground-floor there are two bedrooms, with a king-size and a twin, both with Smart TVs.

Awaken tired eyes with a soothing soak in the fully tiled bathroom or opt for a rinse in the shower.

A public footpath runs beside the farm, leading to The Cleveland Way, which is less than a mile away.

The farm walk meets the Cleveland Way at the top of some of the highest cliffs on the east coast, offering views to the north towards Saltburn and south towards Staithes. However, before reaching the cliffs, you will walk past Street House Farm, where archaeologists uncovered a 3300BC Neolithic long cairn.

The Saxon Princess bed burial is one of only a dozen known in the UK, and likely the most northern, as the majority are on the south coast.

Spectacular artefacts, including gold set scallop shaped gemstones, were discovered buried with the princess and are now on permanent exhibit at the neighbouring Kirkleatham Museum.

There are 22 acres to explore with goats, pigs, chickens, and horses, as well as plenty of outdoor room for kids to run about in.

The village of Loftus is home to the Land of Iron at Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum; there are also several cafes and restaurants to fuel your day.

This lovely property is ideally located within a charming village with an independent book shop, cafés, bakeries and a gin bar which is popular with tourists and locals alike.

Be sure to stop at the local farm shop for some homemade cakes and pies, or dine out at The Tiger Inn, a popular choice with excellent reviews.

Enjoy a trip to the seaside with a choice of beautiful beaches in the area including Staithes, Runswick Bay and Port Mulgrave, which is known for its fossil hunting and also has a large fossil at the National History museum.

Also within easy reach is the North York Moors and Coast National Park which can take you to the Esk Valley for Goathland, affectionately known as Heartbeat country.

Why not travel over the moors and into the picture-perfect market towns of Helmsley, Pickering, and Malton for a day of shopping, or for the thrill-seekers, make your way to to Yorkshire's ultimate theme park, Flamingo Land, which is just 30 miles away and home to an award-winning zoo, perfect for animal lovers too!
