  • "Becky is lovely and welcoming."

Lodge is lovely and spotless. Little welcome hamper a touching extra. Hot tub amazing especially after a day of sightseeing. I love how the lodges have a ring of trees so its like you enter a secluded world. Seen an owl a couple of times and a rabbit too.

  • "The lodge was perfect, a great way to spend time relaxing."

Plenty of open green spaces, plenty of room around the lodges. The hot tub area was totally private, the decking area out front looked out on a large green open space. The lounge/kitchen area was comfy and spacious. The bed was perfect, super king and the my wife loved the roll top bath in the bedroom. She now wants one at home so thanks a lot for that. Another DIY job put on the list hahaha. Nice dark skies so if you have one, take your telescope or binoculars. We knew about the road noise from a previous review, however this was never a problem outside or inside the lodge. We couldn’t have wished for anything better.

  • "The lodge was nice and in a lovely quiet location but the couch in the lounge was a bit small and not very good for snuggling up watching a film."

The cooker light wasn’t working on the oven. The sink in the bathroom was difficult to lean over due to the wall cabinet above being in the way. Either the cabinet needs to be smaller or the sink needs to be bigger. Few areas of water damage visible on the ceiling in the bedroom need touched up. Also the bedroom would benefit from a tv in there. Also it would have been nice if the owner had told us about the major roadworks going on resulting in a 30 minute diversion to get to the property when they messaged to ask our arrival time.

Firstly thank you for choosing to stay with us and thank you for your feedback. We will take this on board and look into the points you have raised. We apologise regard the bridge closure that is out of our control, you will have received a email from us regarding this prior to your arrival with instructions on getting to us. Property Owner

Very clean and very homely. Everything that you would need when staying away from home. The only downside is the traffic it starts around 6:30 in the morning and busy through the rush hour periods If you can live with it then you’re on a winner If noise is a problem step away as you won’t be happy

  • "We stayed at beech tree lodge for 4 nights we were greeted buy the caretaker and shown to the lodge you are given a fob to get in and out so it’s very secure."

The Lodge was fantastic for 2 people big and spacious the bed could easily sleep 4! The welcome pack was bonus my partner enjoyed this! Very quiet not overlooked at all you could hear the traffic from the road outside but couldn’t see it at all. The only other lodge in the area is opposite to you and there are others at the other end of the park. The hot tub was great even in the rain and was ready to use on the first day! Just a few point I would make are that there was no measuring jug in the kitchen and the oven rubber was loose also the pans could do with replacing we used the kitchen every night for cooking as it’s hard to eat out with having so many allergies. On the hole the lodge was very clean and well kept inside the outside could do with some paint and decking needs a clean but this will not stop us visiting again as it’s whole location was great for exploring the area and was quiet and relaxing. Thank you for a great relaxing few days!

Thank you for your feedback and I’m glad you enjoyed your stay. The oven door seal replaced and not sure what happened to the jugs but we’ve popped some new ones in, thanks for letting us know. We would love to welcome you again sometime. Property Owner

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Beech Tree Lodge."

We arrived a little earlier than planned, but the welcome was warm and friendly. The lodge itself is well equipped and very comfortable (could do with some oven gloves though, unless we just didn't find them). The bed is huge and very comfortable. The hot tub is very private, and we found it easy to get into and out of (unlike some others we have encountered). Stamford Bridge is a lovely place to stay - handy for York and the east cost resorts. We'll be back!

The quality of furniture is excellent. We would recommend this chalet, the only point we would raise is the closeness to the A166 Bridlington road, the noise from the traffic is quite loud but the chalet is well hidden from view by bushes and trees so privacy is not an issue.

The lodge had everything needed for our weekend and the hamper basket was beautiful! The host was lovely when meeting upon arrival. Hot tub was wicked kept its heat and we loved this after a long day of shopping in York. York was only 15 minuets from this location so was perfect for a weekend away! Only downside we could say about this place was the hot tub didn’t have a cover. This would be a great added feature to this place but definitely will be returning. Thank you for a great stay

The only thing that I can make a negative comment on is the mattress on the bed, you can feel the springs. All it needs is a topper, we needed a new quilt for home so bought one and put it on top of the mattress and it was fine. After saying that I have M.E. so my muscles are sensitive to any pressure.

About the location

STAMFORD BRIDGE

York 8.5 miles.

Stamford Bridge, as its name suggests, was a fording point over the River Derwent for a Roman settlement. Nowadays, it is a village with a selection of shops and restaurants and is notable for a renovated railway viaduct, which is now used as a cycle and public footpath. The village is well known as the site of the Battle of Stamford Bridge on 25th September 1066, which marked the end of the Viking era in Britain. Within easy reach are the pretty Yorkshire market towns of Malton, Beverley and Driffield and within an hour’s drive is the unspoilt coastal resort of Filey with open beaches and the nearby RSPB nature reserve at Bempton.
