Glorious views, especially from the conservatory to the sea. Perfect for families with children as there is direct access to the field and swings. Pub and shop a two minute walk there and three back up the hill. Very spacious and comfortable.

The house was clean and very comfortable and met all our needs. Less than a mile to walk to the sea front at Robin Hoods Bay, and around a minute to the local pub. The weather could have been better but it didn't stop our enjoyment of Whitby, Scarborough, York, Falling Foss waterfall (which was improved by it) and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. A memorable surprisingly relaxing week.

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Croft View and managed to visit some of the interesting places in the vicinity. Thank you very much for your kind comments they are very much appreciated. Property Owner

Back gate opens onto grassy meadow with views of the sea. We enjoyed sitting outside with a glass of wine most evenings after busy days. Would be great for families with children. Shops, pub/restaurant, walks and bus stop all really close by so park up and enjoy your holiday….we did! Would love to return some day.

  • "A beautiful cottage in a beautiful location."

Although the kitchen is small we cooked evening meals several times and it wasn't a problem as it was very well equipped. The rooms are tastefully decorated, really comfortable and very clean. The outdoor space was perfect for my grandchildren (4 and 1). They loved running down the paths that had been cut out through the natural field which led to the playground. The owner contacted me several times before our visit giving advice on where to go and checking if there was anything specific we needed. I left 2 jackets at the cottage and the owner returned them to me by post promptly without charge which was so kind. I cant recommend this cottage highly enough and I'm sure we will return in the future.

We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your holiday at Croft View. Many thanks for the very positive feedback and we hope to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

It is a pretty cottage with a really delightful sea view of Robin Hood's Bay, which we enjoyed every day from the breakfast table. Fylingthorpe too is charming and the service at St Stephen's on Christmas day was just what one would wish. The owner was in good contact with us and was most kind and courteous. We are hoping to go again!

  • "Very nice house in a good location."

Very clean and tidy with pretty much everything you need. Our only comment would be on the kitchen which had limited space and might be a bit tricky if there was a full house (there were only two of us) . There were quite a lot of large items on the worktops which reduced working space which we removed (and replaced later). Champagne cooler, large scales etc we also though a smaller combined fridge freezer below (removing the counter fridge) the work surface would release more space. Also having to use plug and unplug the microwave to use the toaster was a bit awkward. We understand that the house layout had evolved and was not a modern kitchen layout but could be improved at little cost. Overall great place and hope the comments are constructive.

Many thanks for your constructive comments which are very helpful and we are pleased that you liked the cottage. We have recently made more space on the worktops by repositioning some items and intend to improve the kitchen area in the future. Thank you once again. Property Owner

  • "This is a lovely cottage with friendly helpful owners who maintain it immaculately."

When we opened the door the whole place looked and smelled so clean and inviting. Everything is provided for including a welcome tea tray. The bedding, towels and pillows felt like new and not some random collection cobbled together over the years as can be the case in holiday lets. This cottage has a fabulous location and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Many thanks for the lovely feedback, we try our upmost to ensure that our guests have a pleasant stay. We think that it is very important to maintain high standards and we appreciate your comments regarding the bed linen and towels. We have also passed on your positive comments about cleanliness to our cleaners. Thank you once again. Property Owner

The cottage is lovely, clean, well equipped and homely. Very cozy with the Christmas decorations and logs glowing on the wood burner. We cooked a great Xmas dinner in the kitchen which had everything we needed. Nice walks along the cinder track, also into Robin Hoods Bay. Steve recommended a fishmongers in Whitby, which was fab. Very nice Xmas goodies. No problem with parking on the road outside the cottage, the road wasn’t that steep as someone had said. The owners Steve and Chris were very helpful with everything. • "We enjoyed a week at Croft View at October half term."

The house is very comfortable and is within easy walking distance to Robin Hood’s Bay either over the fields and cinder track or along the road(footpaths all the way). The furnishings are good quality and the house is warm and welcoming. The only downside I would say is the size of the kitchen. Because of it’s shape there can only be one person at a time in the kitchen. I do believe the owner plans to extend the kitchen which would make this house perfect. We loved the sunrises from the kitchen/diner. Fantastic views over to the sea in the distance. I would highly recommend.

Situated between Scarborough and Whitby, this charming old fishing village is to be found nestling at the edge of a wide sweeping bay backed by spectacular cliffs and dramatic moorland scenery, and was once home to author Leo Walmsley.
