  • "The cottage was attractive and in the quiet rural seaside village of Flamborough which is well placed for the Yorkshire Coast and particularly for bird watching and enjoying Bridlington and Filey."

It was very warm and cosy, it accepted 3 dogs and provided bowls, covers and bedding, and treats! However there were a few glitches. The key code we were given in all communications before the day we arrived was wrong and we could not get in until we'd negotiated contact with the managers. An email correcting the number had been sent that afternoon, but arrived just before we did, having driven for 3 hours, so we didn't see it until later. There was no tea towel or oven glove but we found one in the laundry room. There was nowhere to hang towels or clothes in the shower room (this could be remedied with a couple of cheap 'over the door' hooks and a radiator rack). There was no enclosed garden (we knew this) but the patio area was actually the gravel drive outside all the cottages where cars were coming and going (and on the morning we left, where the biomass delivery lorry was parked from 8am until 10am - the driver apologized for the noise and blocking access but it was difficult to load the car and very noisy for the other people who weren't leaving with that timing.) We only found the actual open garden where dogs can be walked the second day - it is tucked away behind hedges - a sign or two indicating where it is would help. There was no visitor book - these are helpful for things like knowing to switch the router off and on again when the internet fails if other people experience this, and getting to the garden area, as well as other handy bits of information about the area.

Dear Anne, Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback following your stay. We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed the cottage's charming location in Flamborough and that you found it warm, cozy, and welcoming for both you and your dogs. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience with the key code upon arrival. Unfortunately, the key code had to be changed on that day, and we understand how frustrating this must have been after your long journey. While it could not have been prevented, we had taken steps to ensure this was communicated as soon as possible. Regarding the tea towel and oven glove, we regret this oversight and have already advised our housekeeping team to ensure that these essentials are available in all of our properties. Replacement oven gloves have been ordered, and we are gradually reviewing the inventories of all our properties after the busy period. Feedback like yours is incredibly valuable in helping us improve, and we truly appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We’ve also taken note of your suggestions for towel hooks in the shower room and better signage for the garden area. These are helpful ideas, and we will look into implementing these improvements. As for the visitor book, you'll be pleased to know that we are in the process of updating them in all of our properties to provide helpful information and enhance the overall guest experience. Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback. We're always striving to improve, and we hope to welcome you back in the future for an even better stay. • "Had a lovely stay but do agree with previous comments that the lounge furniture is very low in height."

Lovely to have our little dog thought of with the welcome pack. Had a tranquil stay until the last night when someone parked outside our unit who must have been staying in the farm house. Lovely to see some flowers in a planter outside the cottage. Would be great to have a visitors book in the cottage to get tips and hints of where to visit/eat.

We're delighted to hear that you had a lovely and tranquil stay and appreciated the welcome pack for your dog—we always love to make our furry guests feel at home! On arrival they was a basket with blankets and treats for our dogs which was a lovely touch. The handbook was really helpful and gave us lots of places to explore. The only thing we'd change was the toilet seat was a little loose. We'd definitely come here again, lovely location and beautiful cottage.

  • "Gannet is spotlessly clean with all you need in the kitchen."

Two very small issues which we found, The lounge/diner is very spacious, if it was 25% less it would still have been spacious enough and given more room in the bedroom which would have given room for a wardrobe because hanging and drawer space, for us, is very limited. The other thing, again for us being 80 plus years, the settee is very low making it a struggle to get out of. Having that said, we enjoyed our stay and can recommend it.

Dear Pamela, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts about your stay at Gannet. We're delighted to hear that you found the property spotlessly clean and well-equipped. Your feedback is valuable, and we'll certainly consider all feedback in our future improvements. We understand the importance of comfort, especially for our guests, and we’ll look into options to address the settee height. We're thrilled that you enjoyed your stay and would recommend us. It was a pleasure having you, and we hope to welcome you back soon. Warm regards, Jacki & The Grange Holidays Team Property Owner

  • "I spoke with the property owner to say only 2 mugs, no vegetable /fruit knife or oven cloth and only one tea towel for the week."

She replied that is standard. Shower tray overflows as drain blocked. Suggested toiletries trolley in shower room as no shelf. Suggested that as another guest has said hooks on back of shower room door and bedroom door please. Note no wardrobe and 4 small drawers in total for clothing and toiletries. Bed and bedding good, heating good, good kitchen equipment apart from basics.clean except for shower. Note no patio but picnic table in shared parking area.

Thank you for your feedback and choosing to stay with us. There should have been 4 mugs in the property, but as you mentioned, you supplemented them with spare mugs in the laundry room, which is great. We usually supply one tea towel per stay but are reviewing this. Oven gloves and kitchen knives are provided within the property. Since your stay, we have added a small toiletry trolley in the bathroom. Hooks will be added for the bathroom and bedroom doors too. Property Owner
